Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Mental health problems in young adults continue to increase in Indonesia, especially problems related to relationships with others. This study aims to examine the effect of adult attachment on mental well-being in young adults. Data collection was conducted in the form of a survey using the Adult Attachment Style Questionnaire and The Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale. Participants in this study were 302 people aged 18 to 40 years who lived in Jabodetabek. The data analysis used multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that overall attachment style has a significant effect on mental well-being. Secure attachment (χ²(1) = 272.02, p <.001) and dismissing attachment (χ²(1) = 15.08, p <.001) both significantly contributed to predicting mental well-being, while fearful attachment (χ²(1) = 11.37, p = .001) and preoccupied attachment (χ²(1) = 4.58, p = .032) had a significant negative influence on mental well-being. These findings will provide implications for improving the mental well-being of young adults by considering their attachments in adulthood and can be a reference for professionals to develop psychological interventions for mental well-being.

Abstract

The stage of early adulthood in human development is to establish romantic relationships with the opposite sex. Therefore, having a romantic relationship is important for individuals at that age. Out of these four types of violence, emotional violence is the one that cannot be seen in real life, and even the victims don't really feel that what they are experiencing is a form of emotional violence. In emotional violence, the perpetrator will play a role by manipulating the victim, so that the victim does not even realize what he is experiencing, but gradually the impact of the violence is felt in everyday life. Meanwhile, the position of victims who are manipulated and unaware of the violence they experience, makes them feel that their perception of the situation they are experiencing is unrealistic, victims usually do not recognize or recognize emotional violence, and they develop coping mechanisms such as denial and minimize the violence they experience. With this condition it is difficult for victims to seek help for what they are experiencing. There are predictors that can influence the behavior of seeking help, including the regulation of the victim's emotions, the intensity of the search for help itself, and so on. In order to seek help from a manipulative, emotionally abusive state, the victim must have trust in others. Conditions that are astonishing and difficult to understand and believe are like victims of natural emotional abuse, forcing them to only want to open up to people they truly trust.

Abstract

This study involved 70 doctors in Indonesia with diverse demographic characteristics, consisting of 54.2% males and 45.8% females, with ages ranging from 25 to 60 years. Based on Rasch analysis using the jMetrik software version 4.1.1, the psychological well-being measurement instrument for doctors in Indonesia showed excellent reliability, with an item reliability value of 0.95 and person reliability of 0.86. These results indicate that the measurement tool used is valid and reliable for this study. The instrument also demonstrated excellent strata separation with a value of 6.77, as well as a range of item difficulty levels, from the easiest to the most difficult. Item number 18 was considered the easiest, while item number 8 was the most difficult. However, item number 26 was found to be unsuitable for the participants and was therefore excluded from the analysis. Overall, the quality of this instrument is rated as excellent, with only two items in the harmony dimension to be used in future research. Abstract

The Heart Technique is claimed by its users and creator to be effective in overcoming specific phobias in just 20 to 30 minutes. This study aims to test the effectiveness of The Heart Technique in online settings toward specific phobias. The research used two-group pretest–posttest design in individual and group sessions. The participants were 130 people aged 18-58 years, domiciled in Indonesia, selected using purposive sampling. The measuring instruments are Subjective Unit of Distress (SUD) and Severity Measure For Specific Phobia-Adult. The results of the Mann Whitney-U analysis showed that there was a significant decrease in the measurement of the two measuring instruments (p<0.05). Although individual and group sessions were able to significantly reduce the severity of the phobia to a neutral or non-phobic category, this technique was more effective in individual sessions as seen from the Wilcoxon test (p<0.05). The results showed that The Heart Technique can be used as an alternative solution to overcome psychological problems, especially phobias.

Abstract

Limited knowledge and misconceptions about psychological disorders, especially depression, often lead to negative attitudes towards sufferers. Efforts are needed to address this issue to reduce unwanted impacts. This study aims to determine how people's knowledge of depression and to adapt and analyze the psychometric properties of the Depression Literacy (D-Lit) Questionnaire instrument. This study analyzed the adapted Depression Literacy (D-Lit) Questionnaire instrument, with 225 participants aged 18-40 years, which later became 195 participants due to elimination. The analysis method used was the Rasch Model. This study looks at the reliability of person and item and rating scale based on Andrich Threshold. The results of the analysis obtained were the item reliability value reached 0.99 and the person reliability value with a value of 0.64. Alpha Cronbach's reliability was found to be 0.68 which indicates that there is sufficient interaction between item and person. There were 30 persons that did not meet the invariance test criteria so they were eliminated, and 4 items were eliminated because they did not meet the requirements of Outfit MNSQ and ZTSD and Pt Mean Corr. The raw variance contained in the analysis is 44.3% where this value has met the unidimensionality requirement. The analysis conducted almost all met the requirements of the Rasch Model.
