Abstract

In learning mathematics, there are several abilities that must be possessed in learning it, one of which is problem solving ability. The problem solving ability at MTsN 1 Lamongan is still not optimal. This was demonstrated through interviews conducted with mathematics teachers at MTsN 1 Lamongan. Therefore, the aim of this research is to describe the mathematical problem solving abilities of MTsN 1 Lamongan students in terms of the type of MTsN 1 Lamongan program. The method used by the author is a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques used were through tests and interviews. The instrument used in this research is the problem solving ability instrument according to Polya. The data analysis technique is through analyzing student test results and then adjusting them to indicators of problem solving abilities. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, the following results are obtained, in the SKS class program students are still unable to identify problems and implement strategies and are unable to formulate strategies and verify solutions. Meanwhile, in the superior program, students have been able to implement strategies but have not been able to identify problems and formulate strategies, and have not verified solutions. Lastly, regular program students have been able to formulate strategies but have not been able to identify problems and implement strategies, and have not verified solutions.

Abstract

This research aims 1) To find out whether there is an increase in the ability to understand concepts after implementing the NeedHam learning model for fifth grade students at SDN 93 with fraction counting operation material; 2) To find out how students' activities are during learning using the NeedHam learning model for class V students at SDN 93 Singkawang with fraction counting operation material; 3) To find out how the NeedHam learning model is implemented for class V students at SDN 93 Singkawang regarding fraction counting operations. The type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods and the design in this research is One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The population in this study were fifth grade students at SDN 93 Sigkawang. Samples were taken using saturated sampling. The data collection technique uses a test technique in the form of the ability to understand concepts and an observation technique using activity sheets and the implementation of the Needham model in the operation of calculating multiplication of fractions. The data analysis technique uses the N-Gain test, percentage of student learning activities and percentage of implementation. The results of the research show 1) There is an increase in students' understanding of mathematical concepts after implementing the Needham learning model to facilitate the ability to understand mathematical concepts in fraction multiplication calculation operation material in class V students at SDN 93 Singkawang; 2) Student learning activity is relatively high after implementing the Needham learning model in class V at SDN 93 Singkawang. This is proven by the results of the calculation of the average percentage obtained by the average value of the percentage of student learning activities for the first and second meetings, namely the calculation results obtained were 71.83%, which is in the high category; 3) the implementation of the Needham learning model was carried out well in the material on the operation of calculating multiplication of fractions in class V at SDN 93 Singkawang.

Abstract

Latar belakang masalah penelitian ini adalah kurangnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam mengingat rumus volume bangun ruang sisi datar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Lubuklinggau setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berbantuan media Magic Shape pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif dan jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian One Grup Pre-test and Post-test. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 233 peserta didik. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling dan menggunakan satu kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf signifikan 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selisih antara nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test sebesar 66,13. Hasil uji t menunjukkan (35,213) > (2,042), sehingga hipotesis yang diajukan diterima. Jadi, hasil belajar peserta didik meningkat secara signifikan setelah diterapkan model

Abstract

This research and development aims to determine the quality of mathematical comics using the PBL model in improving students' mathematical communication skills in terms of validity, practicality and effectiveness. The method used in this research is Research and Development using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The results obtained in this research were that the material validation percentage was 82.6% in the "very valid" category, the design validation percentage was 74.28% in the "valid" category, the teacher practicality percentage was 94%, classified as "very practical" , the percentage of students' practicality obtained was 85.26% in the "very practical" category, the percentage of effectiveness of students' responses was 83.04% in the "very effective" category and the N-gain calculation in increasing students' mathematical literacy skills was 74% with the "category" effective enough". So it is concluded that this research shows that mathematics comics using the PBL model in improving students' mathematical communication skills are suitable for use during the learning process because they meet the valid, practical and effective categories.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik ditinjau dari teori Van Hiele dan gaya kognitif Field Dependent (FD) dan Field Independent (FI) SMAN 9 Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan studi kasus. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Purposive sampling. Adapun penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara melakukan observasi, pemberian Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT), pemberian Van Hiele Geometry Test (VHGT), pemberian tes dengan menggunakan soal pemecahan masalah, dan pelaksanaan wawancara. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah subjek dengan gaya kognitif Field Dependent (FD) dengan tingkat berpikir Van Hiele level 0 dan subjek dengan gaya kognitif Field Independent (FI) level 1 memenuhi tahapan pertama indikator pemecahan masalah matematis yaitu memahami masalah, sedangkan subjek dengan gaya kognitif Field Independent (FI) dengan tingkat berpikir Van Hiele level 0 memenuhi dua tahapan pemecahan masalah matematis yaitu memahami masalah dan merencanakan penyelesaian.

Abstract

This research were about improving mathematical problem solving abilities through the application of the PBL model assisted by Quizizz to enumeration rule material. This research was motivated by the low ability of students to solve mathematical problems in enumeration rule material, as many as 69.44% of students did not pass the specified KKTP, namely 70. The aim of this research is to describe the process of implementing learning by applying the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Quizizz to enumeration rule material and to describe improvements students' problem solving abilities in enumeration rule material. Based on these problems, Classroom Action Research (PTK) was carried out using a spiral design from Kemmis and Mc. Taggart in two cycles. This research uses test instruments to determine the problem solving abilities obtained by students. The results of the research show that the application of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Quizizz has a positive effect on students' problem solving abilities in enumeration rule material. The results of data analysis concluded that there was an increase in the percentage value of classical learning completeness in cycle I by 57%, while the percentage value of classical learning completeness in cycle II was 87%.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the average learning outcome of the pupil is achieved using the round table learning model, together with testing the hypothesis of whether there is a difference between the average pupil learning outcomes of the round table learning model and the conventional learning model. This research is quantitative. The population in this study is the entire pupils of class VIII MTs Nurul Huda Pringsewu. The study sample is pupils from class VIII.1 as the experimental class and class VIII.2 as the control class. The data analysis used is a t-test with the data requirements tested having met the normality and homogeneity test assumptions. Furthermore, the results of this study showed that the achievement of average learning outcomes of students using the round table learning model was 73.66 higher compared to the average study outcome of participants using the conventional learning model which reached 53.5. Then the results of the hypothesis test with the two-party test showed that there was a difference in the average learning outcome on the round table learning model with the conventional learning model.

Abstract

The development of the world in the 21st century has encouraged the government to improve human resources with the ability to think critically and communicate, especially for students in learning mathematics. However, the fact is that students' critical thinking skills are still low. The purpose of this study was to ascertain how students used the critical thinking when problem solving. Three eighth-grade junior high school students are the subjects of this qualitative case study research design. Critical thinking test and interviews are used to collection data. Following data collection, the phases of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. were used to analyze the data. The results showed that: (1) Students in the successful category of the critical thinking process met all indicators for the the critical thinking process, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. (2) Students the less successful category, achieved the indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and explanation, in their critical thinking processes. Nevertheless, indicators were not met at the inference and self-regulation phases of the critical thinking process. (3) Critical thinking process of students in the unsuccessful category think critically. Students only require the indicators of interpretation for the critical thinking process. Critical thinking process indicators were not met at the phases of analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation stages, the critical thinking process indicators were not well achieved.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah produk berupa video animasi berbasis STEM sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development yang dipasangkan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Kategori yang digunakan untuk menguji kualitas produk adalah valid, praktis dan efektif. Hasil uji kualitas video animasi berbasis STEM menunjukkan bahwa pada validasi materi mendapatkan persentase sebesar 89,41% tergolong “sangat valid”, sedangkan validasi materi sebesar 91,67% tergolong “sangat valid. Hasil uji kepraktisan didapat persentase 83,33% tergolong “sangat praktis” pada uji coba satu-satu, sedangkan pada uji coba kelompok kecil sebesar 85,28% tergolong “sangat praktis”. Uji keefektifan didapat persentase N-gain 58,91% yang tergolong cukup efektif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa video animasi berbasis STEM yang dibuat memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif serta layak digunakan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal tes yang diberikan, dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan hasil penyelesaian siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan pada setiap indikator yang ada dalam kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Purposive Sampling sebanyak 26 orang siswa dengan subjek penelitian yang terpilih yaitu 6 orang siswa yang terdiri dari masing-masing 3 siswa laki-laki dan 3 siswa perempuan. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh siswa dengan usahanya yang kurang gigih dan kurang percaya diri terhadap pengetahuannya dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika akan mudah menyerah, bosan terhadap pembelajaran matematika, dan cenderung memiliki kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis yang rendah. Pada hasil analisis data tingkat kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa di SMPN 1 Cilebar ini tergolong kedalam kategori sedang, dengan hasil persentase pada setiap indikator reacting siswa laki-laki 75% dan siswa perempuan 57%, selanjutnya indikator elaborating siswa laki-laki 50% dan siswa perempuan 46%, sedangkan untuk indikator contemplating siswa laki-laki 50% dan siswa perempuan 43%. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sedikit upaya untuk mengembangkan lebih kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal khususnya pada tahap mengevaluasi jawaban yang sudah dikerjakan.
