Abstract

Rice husk waste and dry leaves can be found all around us. If not managed properly, it can pollute the environment. For this reason, this waste can be used to make products with economic value, for example briquettes are an alternative energy source. The trial design for making briquettes in this study used a comparison ratio (75: 25). Mixing rice husk charcoal and ground dry leaves with a ratio of 75% rice husk charcoal and 25% dry leaf charcoal, as well as adding 5% tapioca adhesive and 30% water. The briquette compression test results show that sample 1 with a maximum force of 6038.5 N has the highest compression value of 9.67 Mpa. Sample 2 with a maximum force of 713.46 N produces a compression value of 1.88 Mpa, while sample 3 with a maximum force of 1121.14 N has a compression value of 3.00 Mpa. The result is that sample 1 has the highest pressure value. The results of observing the microstructure using SEM testing showed that the size was larger, namely at 50x magnification compared to other particle size magnifications (300x, 500x 800x, and 1,000x), namely 500 µm.  Keywords: Briquettes, dry leaves, pressure test, rice husk waste, SEM test

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the queuing system at SPBU 34.41349 Karawang, Jawa Barat by using a single channel-single phase pattern model using ProModel software. An efficient and effective queuing system is essential to minimize customer waiting time and increase customer satisfaction. In this study, analyzed queue data at SPBU 34.41349 to understand the characteristics of queues and modeled them using ProModel.  Identify factors affecting customer wait times and estimate queuing system performance based on simulations performed with ProModel. The results showed that the productivity rate of operators was 96% and the unemployment rate was 4%. This shows that the operator's productivity level is quite good. However, because there is only 1 filling station for motor vehicles, the type of pertalite fuel causes a buildup of queues. Therefore, to reduce queuing time and maximize service is to add one counter on each server which is expected to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the queuing system at SPBU 34.41349 Karawang, West Java. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the level of crowding in service in restaurants in Cilegon City and to propose improvements to the queue system based on the appropriate queue model for the restaurant. The method used is the Discrete Event Simulation (DES) method. The simulation approach allows for an in-depth and direct analysis of the system over a period of time, providing a realistic picture of the situation on the ground.  The data used in this study is primary data, including customer arrival time data and service time (server) data measured using a stopwatch. The results of the study showed that there was a queue with an average of 10 people and a server busyness rate  of 99.32%. This high level of busyness can result in a decrease in customer satisfaction due to long waiting times. Based on the results of the two scenarios tested, namely scenario one with the addition of 1 server and scenario two with the addition of 2 servers, the first scenario involving the addition of one server/cashier was chosen because it succeeded in reducing the number of customers with a busy level of 70.68%. Abstract

Efficiency within a company must be enhanced to maintain competitiveness and business sustainability, particularly in logistics firms. In logistics processes, minimizing costs is a critical indicator of operational efficiency. This study applies optimization through linear programming to a cross-dock company characterized by fluctuating demand, focusing on a fast-moving product. The analysis begins by calculating the minimum and maximum demand based on twice the standard deviation from the mean, followed by determining the optimal scenarios for each depot. The results indicate that, for the eight depots, the majority of the truck selection involved using single-axle trucks. Consequently, the total cost from the first to the seventh week was Rp. 1,785,000,000, while the LP simulation results indicated a total cost of Rp. 1,214,000,000, representing a potential cost saving of Rp. 554,000,000. Abstract

The maggot cultivation industry managed by Repro MSMEs experiences various challenges such as, there is no integration between supply chain actors and Repro MSMEs are directly involved as producers and retailers because they market directly without going through intermediaries. The research respondent is an expert in the supply chain field totaling 5 people, data collection is carried out by a brainstorming process then Focus group discussion (FGD) and through a closed questionnaire. This research aims to create a strategy to improve the supply chain that is comprehensive and data-based in order to be more optimal. The ISM method is a strategic decision-making step to identify the interrelationships between the most influential variables. ISM data processing uses the help of ISM Professional 2.0 software. This research has successfully identified and modeled supply chain strategies from ten variables. Based on ISM modeling, the most significantly influential variable is variable A1, and at the top level is variable A9, this means that variable A9 becomes an entity with a low level of urgency. This research is expected to facilitate MSME owners to make decisions in determining priorities as a reference for implementing strategies that must be used in optimizing the supply chain system.
