Abstract

PT. SM, a company engaged in fertilizer production. The purpose of the study is to identify and address the problems facing companies with less optimal shipping frequency and high transportation costs. In this study, DRP techniques were selected because they allowed the planning and scheduling of product distribution to be efficient. The research process begins with data collection such as product demand, operational cost, and shipping routes. Analysis is conducted to identify more effective sales management solutions. The results of the survey showed that the DRP method reduced sales costs significantly compared to the methods the company previously used. Based on calculation, the total distribution cost of the company incurred before applying the DRP method in a given delivery period is Rp 22.050.000. After applying the DRP methode, the total distribution cost reaches Rp 14. 700. 000,- equivalent to savings of Rp 7. 350. 000 or about 33.33%. Thus, the implementation of DRP methods not only reduces transportation costs but also improves the efficiency of product distribution management.. Keywords : Cost Analysis, DRP, EOQ, Forecasting

Abstract

UMKM Banjar Biscuit "Bu Min" in Sumber Nongko Village, Jombang Regency produces traditional snacks made from sticky rice using manual methods, especially at the dough-pounding stage. This manual process causes physical fatigue in workers, affects production efficiency, and threatens product hygiene. With increasing market demand, UMKM faces major challenges in meeting consumer needs. To overcome this problem, an ergonomic dough-pounding tool was designed with dimensions of 140 cm high, 50 cm wide, 50 cm long, and a mortar diameter of 30 cm. This tool successfully reduced the Work Heart Rate (WHR) of workers from 118-149 to 93-124 beats/minute, indicating a significant reduction in cardiovascular load. In addition to increasing production efficiency, this tool maintains product hygiene and reduces the risk of worker injury. From a financial perspective, the cost of making the tool of Rp 5,306,000 has proven to be economical with an IRR of 5.26% per month (51.2% per year), a Profitability Index of 6.04, a positive NPV, and a Payback Period of only 2 months. This innovation helps MSMEs improve the quality and quantity of production while strengthening competitiveness in a competitive market. Abstract

This research discusses the issues faced by UD M, which produces crispy brownie chips, where the finished goods warehouse often becomes overcrowded due to production reaching 253 boxes, while the warehouse capacity is only 48 boxes. Due to other factors as well, the owner decided to move all activities, starting from raw material storage, production, and finished goods storage, to another location. The problem is the absence of a layout for the new warehouse. With this issue, the author designed the factory layout based on the Shared Storage method, considering material handling and the FIFO picking system. This research aims to provide the owner of UD M with considerations for arranging the facility layout in the new building. In addition to changing the layout of the finished goods warehouse, the owner plans to relocate the factory. The author reorganized the new factory of UD. M based on the results of the Activity Relationship Chart.(ARC).  The research results show that the raw material warehouse, which initially measured 11.30 m², has been reduced to 10.32 m². Then, the finished goods warehouse, which initially could only hold 48 boxes, can now hold up to 123 boxes per day. By changing the layout of the production area, the production flow also becomes more organized and systematic. Keywords: ARC, FIFO, Production Flow, Share Storage, Warehouse

Abstract

Human resources are one of the factors that influence the progress of the business being undertaken. The Surakarta area has an increasing number of MSMEs every year. One of the MSMEs that is growing is a welding workshop. There are several things that affect employee performance, one of which is ergonomic conditions. Of course, this condition can be described in the task or work factor that is assigned. This study aims to analyze ergonomic factors on the performance of welding workers in the Surakarta area. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The number of respondents or samples in this study was 50 welding workers in the Surakarta area. The data analysis method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The work environment around the welding workshop actually affects employee performance. One of them is ergonomics. The ergonomic aspect of performance is influenced by several factors, two of which are work organization and workload. This study uses work organization and workload variables as indicators of measuring ergonomic factors on the performance of welding workers in the welding workshop. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the work organization variable as an ergonomic indicator has a positive influence on the performance of workers in the welding workshop. This can be seen from the p values of 0.000 less than the alpha value of 5%. There are three aspects that can optimize employee performance in terms of work organization, namely effective communication between fellow workers, good human resource management and optimal work time task design. Meanwhile, the performance load does not affect the performance of welding workers in the welding Keywords: Ergonomics, Surakarta, Welding, Workers

Abstract

Waluya Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) manages a salted anchovy boiling operation located on Pasaran Island, Bandar Lampung, experiencing a significant decline in production output due to the high level of spoilage in the produced salted anchovies. This research aims to identify the constraints affecting the quality of the resulting Salted Anchovy through the approach of the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method, as well as providing corrective solutions. From the research results, factors were identified that affect the quality of salted anchovies produced by Waluya SMEs, namely: non-standard shape (31%); soft texture (28%); presence of foreign matter (23%); and incorrect sorting (18%). The problem of the non-standard shape of salted anchovies is caused by the careless salting and handling process. The solutions are to use containers that fit the size and type of anchovies and to implement staged salting. The problem of soft texture of salted anchovies is caused by uneven mixing of salt during the salting process. The solutions are to ensure sufficient salting time for the salt to penetrate evenly into the fish and to use appropriately sized containers. The problem of foreign matter in salted anchovies is caused by the traditional drying process. The solutions are to choose a clean drying location free from dust, dirt, and pests; and to use clean and easily cleaned bases. The problem of incorrect sorting of salted anchovies is caused by the manual process. The solutions are to train employee skills and invest in automatic sorting machines for the long term.
