Abstract

The doll industry has experienced rapid growth, with Indonesia becoming the fourth-largest market globally in 2023. Seulgi dolls, a local product featuring diverse designs and good quality, present an interesting subject for research on the influence of lifestyle and product quality on purchasing decisions. This study aims to analyze the impact of lifestyle and product quality on Seulgi doll purchasing decisions, both separately and in interaction. The specific objectives are to determine the individual effects of lifestyle and product quality, as well as their combined contribution to doll purchasing decisions. This research employs a quantitative approach with a sample size of 100 respondents, using Non-Probability Sampling technique with Purposive Sampling method. Analysis results reveal that lifestyle has no significant effect on Seulgi doll purchasing decisions, with a significance 0.255>0.05. Product quality, however, proves to have a positive and significant impact on purchasing decisions, with a significance 0.000<0.05. These findings emphasize the importance of product quality in influencing Seulgi doll purchasing decisions, while consumer lifestyle is not a primary determinant. Both lifestyle and product quality simultaneously influence Seulgi doll purchasing decisions, as evidenced by the F-test significance. The F-value of 48.172 is also substantial, indicating that at least one predictor has a significant effect on the dependent variable. By enhancing Seulgi doll quality, maintaining reputation, responding to complaints, strengthening fan-based marketing strategies that highlight quality, and investigating other variables such as price and promotion that affect purchasing decisions, the company can increase Seulgi doll sales and maintain competitiveness in the market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of hedonism lifestyle on students' social relationships at SMA Negeri 4 Binjai. The hedonism lifestyle, which focuses on the search for pleasure and instant gratification through the consumption of luxury goods and participation in high-cost social activities, has become an increasingly common phenomenon among teenagers. This research used a qualitative approach with an analytical descriptive method, involving observation, interviews and documentation of students, subject teachers, counseling teachers and school principals. The results showed that the hedonism lifestyle has a significant impact on the dynamics of students' social relationships. Students who follow this lifestyle tend to form exclusive social groups based on economic status, which triggers feelings of injustice and jealousy among students. The hedonistic lifestyle distracts students from academic achievement and other positive activities, reduces the quality of more meaningful interpersonal relationships, and increases excessive consumptive behavior. The study also found that family economic conditions, the influence of social media, and the role of peers are the main factors that encourage the adoption of a hedonistic lifestyle among students. To overcome this negative impact, the study recommends improving character education programs in schools, the active role of parents in teaching wise economic values, as well as students' efforts in developing awareness of time management and priorities.

Abstract

The Financial Services Authority (FSA), is an independent institution that has powers, responsibilities, and jurisdiction to oversee and regulate all financial services sectors. An essential element in determining the objectivity and effectiveness of supervision is the supervisory authority's independence. The article discusses the independence of the FSA to conduct supervision in the capital markets sector. The financing aspect is one of the important things, that affect the FSA's independence. To fulfil its obligations and functions, the FSA is legally authorized to collect levies from supervised financial services institutions other than government agencies. In view of the violations that occur in the capital market, can the fees paid to the OJK by companies supervised by the OJK affect the independence of the OJK in carrying out its supervisory duties? The OJK is the one that has to take on this challenge. The research is normative juridical, by using secondary data. Qualitative research using a literature study design is the research methodology employed. The data collection makes use of secondary data gathered from Google Scholar reference sources, including journals, legal goods, and research publications. These findings demonstrate the implementation of the independence of OJK supervision of actors in the capital market sector. OJK answers the challenge by enforcing the law for violators in an accountable and transparent manner. Thus, the OJK levy does not affect the independence of the OJK in conducting supervision.
