Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of elevator installation delays on the schedule and budget of a 10-story office building construction project in Gresik. By comparing two scenarios—on-time elevator work versus delayed elevator work—this research uses a comparative analysis approach based on project documentation, interviews with stakeholders, and cost and time data. The findings reveal that delays in elevator work significantly affected the overall project timeline, causing a shift in the schedule and necessitating changes in structural methods, particularly the use of steel instead of concrete for the separator beams. This change expedited construction but increased costs substantially. The study also highlights the cascading effects of these delays, which led to further adjustments in the building's structure and increased labor and material costs. The research emphasizes the importance of early-stage planning, coordination, and the adoption of advanced project management techniques, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), to minimize risks and ensure timely project completion. In conclusion, the study provides valuable insights into how elevator delays can disrupt construction projects and recommends strategies to mitigate such risks in future developments.

Abstract

Refusal of medical treatment is an inherent right of every patient based on the principles of autonomy and human rights. In the context of health law in Indonesia, the patient's right to refuse medical procedures is regulated in Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health, which gives patients the freedom to accept or refuse medical procedures after obtaining adequate information from medical personnel. However, the legal implications of refusing medical treatment become complex when the decision causes the patient's loss or death, which can trigger potential legal disputes between the patient's family and medical personnel, as well as the hospital. This study uses a normative juridical method with a legal, conceptual, and case approach to analyze the legal responsibility of medical personnel in the context of refusal of patient medical treatment. This paper is intended for the knowledge of health law practitioners and law enforcement, in order to understand the legal consequences of refusing medical treatment by doctors.

Emotional intelligence is an important factor in shaping individual attitudes and behaviors, including in the context of religious moderation. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the internalization of religious moderation values and the emotional intelligence of students in Buddhist Colleges in Indonesia. The values of religious moderation are measured through indicators of national commitment, tolerance, anti-violence, and acceptance of traditions. Meanwhile, emotional intelligence includes self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed to students and analyzed using statistical correlation tests. The results of the study indicate a significant relationship between the internalization of religious moderation values and the level of students' emotional intelligence. Students with a high internalization of religious moderation values tend to exhibit better emotional intelligence, particularly in the aspects of empathy and self-regulation. These findings highlight the importance of integrating religious moderation values into higher education curricula to support the emotional and character development of students.

Abstract

The Kemlagi–Beratkulon road surface assessment in Mojokerto District covers a section of 3.637 km and features a combination of rigid pavement, flexible pavement, and asphalt. This road plays a critical role as a connecting link between Mojokerto District and Gresik District, supporting transportation and regional connectivity. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the road surface condition, measure the extent of surface damage, and classify the condition using the International Roughness Index (IRI) method. Data collection was conducted through field surveys with the aid of the Roadroid application, providing real-time measurements of road roughness. The findings reveal that the highest e-IRI value recorded was 1.75 at STA 1+900 to STA 2+000, indicating a road condition classified as "GOOD" based on IRI standards. The study highlights the efficiency of the IRI method in assessing road conditions, ensuring accurate identification of surface damage levels ranging from good to severely damaged. Furthermore, the use of the Roadroid application proves effective in facilitating rapid and precise road surface evaluations. To enhance future assessments, this research suggests integrating alternative android-based applications for comparative analyses and conducting surveys during low-traffic periods to minimize data inaccuracies. These findings contribute to the broader understanding of road infrastructure management, emphasizing the importance of regular assessments to optimize maintenance efforts, extend road lifespan, and allocate resources effectively.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of job satisfaction on psychological well-being among Indonesian Special Needs School (SLB) teachers, a group facing unique professional demands. Despite prior research linking job satisfaction and well-being in general populations (e.g., Tenggara et al., 2008), SLB teachers remain understudied despite their critical role and challenges (Firmansyah & Widuri, 2014). Using purposive sampling, data from 116 SLB teachers were collected via Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scales and Job Satisfaction Survey, and analyzed through simple linear regression. Results confirmed a significant positive effect (p=0.000), with job satisfaction explaining 27.9% of well-being variance, while demographic factors (e.g., education level, marital status) further influenced outcomes. Psychological well-being was high overall, but job satisfaction averaged medium, highlighting gaps in institutional support. The study contributes to industrial-organizational and positive psychology literature by empirically validating this relationship in SLB teachers and suggesting targeted interventions (e.g., improved salaries, social support) to enhance their welfare.
