Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of individual characteristics, leadership, and performance of lecturers in Papua and West Papua, with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) and the Indonesian Higher Education Quality Assurance System (SPMI) acting as mediating variables. A quantitative approach was used for this research, with a sample size of 210 lecturers drawn from a population of 1,176 private university lecturers in these regions. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS software. The findings reveal that individual characteristics and leadership both have a positive and significant effect on OCB and SPMI. Furthermore, individual characteristics do not directly affect lecturer performance, whereas leadership has a significant positive impact on performance. OCB and SPMI were also found to positively influence lecturer performance. Additionally, individual characteristics and leadership were shown to affect lecturer performance indirectly through OCB and SPMI. These results provide insights into the factors that contribute to improving lecturer performance, emphasizing the critical roles of leadership and the mediating effects of OCB and SPMI.

Abstract

This research evaluates the condition of the pavement on the Maospati - Bts. Magetan City with the Surface Distress Index (SDI) method. The results showed the average value of SDI < 50, indicating that the road condition is in good category with minor damage. The dominant damage types are longitudinal cracks and small holes. Based on the survey results, the estimated maintenance cost required reached Rp. 333,468,376, including patching, slurry seal, and crack sealing works. This study confirms that the SDI method is effective for road maintenance planning and budget allocation in an efficient manner. This strategy not only prolongs the service life of the road but also minimizes long-term maintenance costs. Moreover, sustainable road maintenance practices play a crucial role in supporting regional connectivity and development. Well-maintained roads facilitate smoother transportation, enhance logistics efficiency, and improve access to social and economic services, contributing to inclusive and sustainable growth in Magetan Regency.

Abstract

Delays in construction projects often result in resource waste and conflicts among stakeholders. This study focuses on the application of Lean Construction within the "Improve" phase of the Lean Six Sigma framework as a solution to minimize project delays. Lean Construction techniques, particularly Value Stream Mapping (VSM), are utilized to identify and eliminate inefficiencies in the construction process. The implementation of these methods in a case study of PT Golden Union Oil's refinery project in Sidoarjo demonstrated a significant reduction in waste by 57.49%. This achievement underscores the effectiveness of Lean Construction in streamlining project activities and enhancing overall efficiency. By integrating Lean Construction principles into the DMAIC framework, this approach offers systematic and practical strategies for addressing delays in construction projects. The findings contribute to the broader understanding of how innovative management techniques can optimize project delivery timelines and resource utilization in the construction industry.

Abstract

This research employs the Value Engineering (VE) method to address these challenges, focusing on high-impact work items such as formwork, floor slabs, walls, and structural elements. Utilizing techniques like Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Function Analysis System Technique (FAST), the study systematically evaluates opportunities for cost and time savings while maintaining the project’s functional and quality standards. The results demonstrate that the application of knock-down formwork systems significantly reduces material costs and accelerates construction schedules, achieving up to 20% cost savings in specific work items. The use of local materials further contributes to the optimization process, reducing procurement costs and supporting sustainable practices by minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, the redesign of structural components, such as optimized column dimensions, enhances efficiency without compromising safety or functionality. This study underscores the importance of VE as a collaborative and multidisciplinary tool that integrates technical, social, and cultural considerations. It highlights the critical role of stakeholder involvement, particularly in projects with complex socio-cultural dynamics, ensuring practical and acceptable solutions. By illustrating the effectiveness of VE in overcoming constraints, this research provides a valuable framework for applying VE in future infrastructure projects, especially in areas with similar challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mitigation of factors that cause delays in the Probolinggo City Square construction project, a project that faces challenges in implementation and completion. Delays in construction projects can have various negative impacts, including increased costs, time losses, and reduced quality of project outcomes. Thus, project mitigation becomes the main core in this research. Through this research, it is shown that there are several mitigation measures, such as digitization of administrative processes to speed up approval of materials, improved coordination between parties to reduce conflicts and uncertainties, and more careful planning for additional work and identification of work. In addition, workforce training and the use of more advanced project management technology can improve the efficiency of project implementation. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for parties involved in construction projects, especially in managing the risk of delay. With the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures, construction projects can be more efficient in terms of time, cost, and quality, thus providing maximum benefits for all parties involved.

Abstract

Mojokerto is a region in East Java with strategic geographical and economic significance, serving as a key area for regional connectivity and growth. However, the Bendung-Bantengan road section has experienced considerable damage due to inadequate retaining walls, leading to road subsidence, cracks, and increased maintenance costs. These challenges necessitate effective soil stabilization measures to ensure the safety and functionality of the infrastructure. This study explores the application of Value Engineering (VE) to optimize the planning and construction of retaining walls in the region. Utilizing secondary data from topographic surveys and triaxial soil tests, this research evaluates three design alternatives to identify the most efficient solution. The analysis revealed that Alternative 1 demonstrated the highest cost efficiency, achieving a reduction in construction expenses by IDR 284,244,698.00 through the optimization of structural dimensions and material usage. In addition to cost savings, the implementation of VE also contributed to a shortened project timeline, reducing the completion period to 121 days from the originally planned 180 days. The design maintained its quality and structural stability, effectively resisting lateral soil pressure while mitigating erosion risks. This study underscores the significance of incorporating VE during the planning stages of infrastructure projects. By balancing cost efficiency, quality, and sustainability, VE enhances project value and ensures long-term resilience. The findings provide a strategic framework for future infrastructure projects, promoting sustainable and economically viable solutions for regions with challenging geotechnical conditions. VE’s integration into construction practices highlights its transformative potential in achieving efficient and durable infrastructure development.
