Abstract

This study aims to examine the revitalization of the Memace tradition as an instrument for preserving the ancient manuscript Lontar Rengganis as well as an educational medium for preventing child marriage in Lombok. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, this research explores the meaning and subjective experiences of the community regarding the Memace practice, particularly within the socio-cultural context of the Sasak people. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and cultural documentation. The findings reveal that Memace is a form of oral cultural transmission rich in moral, spiritual, and educational values. The narratives in Lontar Rengganis implicitly reject child marriage by emphasizing the importance of education and female empowerment. The revitalization of Memace not only contributes to the physical and cultural preservation of the manuscript but also strengthens collective awareness around child protection issues. This tradition has proven to be an effective medium of cultural communication and can be developed as a model of community-based archival preservation (preservation through use) and a culturally rooted instrument for social advocacy.

Abstract

The rapid population growth in Bandar Lampung has led to an increase in vehicle ownership, which necessitates the provision of adequate road infrastructure and facilities. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works No. 11/PRT/M/2010 concerning Guidelines and Requirements for Road Function Feasibility, road functionality is classified into three categories: Feasible (LF), Conditionally Feasible (LS), and Not Feasible (TLF). To determine the appropriate category of road functionality, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is employed. AHP is a decision support model involving selected respondents who are knowledgeable about the assessed road segment and the criteria for road feasibility. The respondents in this study include representatives from road authorities (Ministry of Public Works and Housing), traffic authorities (Indonesian National Police), transportation agencies (Ministry of Transportation), as well as members of the public, students, and academics. Based on the analysis, the AHP-LFJ score for the Kalianda–Tarahan road segment is 0.696 (approximately 69%), which corresponds to the category of Conditionally Feasible (LS) according to the AHP-LFJ classification thresholds: LF (100%), LS (0.99–0.67), LT (0.66–0.33), and TLF (≤0.32). Roads categorized as Conditionally Feasible (LS) meet part of the technical requirements and are still considered safe for road users.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of Zingiber purpureum extract in lowering blood glucose levels in obese Rattus norvegicus mice. Twenty mice were divided into five groups (n=4): negative control, positive control, comparison, treatment 1 (P-1; 100 mg/kgBW), and treatment 2 (P-2; 200 mg/kgBW). The treatment was given for 4 weeks. Blood glucose levels were measured before and after treatment. The Kruskal-Wallis test showed significant differences between groups (p=0.005), with the greatest decrease in blood glucose in P-2 (mean Δ=32.25 mg/dL). These results indicate the potential of Zingiber purpureum as an adjuvant therapy to lower blood glucose in obesity.

Abstract

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory respiratory disease that poses major challenges in its diagnosis and management. Modern asthma therapy has limitations, especially the side effects of synthetic drugs. Therefore, the use of herbal plants as an additional therapy is a potential alternative. This article is a literature review using the systematic review method with the PRISMA diagram. The literature was searched through the Google Scholar and PubMed databases using the keywords "herbal plants", "therapy", and "asthma" for publications in 2014–2024. Articles were selected based on relevant inclusion and exclusion criteria. A total of 15 selected journals discuss various herbal plants that have anti-asthma potential, including black cumin (Nigella sativa), ground cherry (Physalis angulata L.), betel leaf (Piper betle L.), sembung leaf (Blumea balsamifera L.), cubeb fruit (Piper cubeba L.), sedge rhizome (Cyperus rotundus L.), patikan kebo herb (Euphorbia hirta L.), and widuri leaf (Calotropis gigantea). The mechanism of action of these plants involves anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory activity, as well as reducing inflammatory mediators such as TNF-α, IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, and IgE. Herbal plants have significant potential as additional therapy for asthma through anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory mechanisms. Further research in the form of clinical trials is still needed.

Abstract

Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are a health and socio-economic problem worldwide, both in low- and high-income countries, that affects all age groups. Computed Tomography (CT) is a diagnostic modality that can be used to assess brain damage. However, there are some limitations in the use of CT in TBIs. Therefore, biomarkers are expected to be a solution to identify brain injuries. Neuron-Specific Enolase (NSE) is a more practical and cheaper alternative. It does not require patient mobilization, especially for patients with severe TBIs, to accompany clinical examinations and CT. Methods: A cross-sectional design was used to determine the correlation between Neuron Specific Enolase (NSE) serum levels and the severity of TBIs at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil, Padang. Results: The study found that most patients were 23 men (76.7%), consisting of adults (40.0%). The majority of patients had mild traumatic brain injury (GCS 13-15) in 18 people (60.0%). The cut-off point for serum NSE was 6.6 ng/ml using the ROC curve. There was a negative correlation between serum NSE levels and the severity of TBI (r=-0.211). Conclusion: The correlation of serum NSE levels with the severity of TBI was very weak.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze how PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk implements green marketing concepts and how these are articulated in their annual reports from 2020 to 2024, as well as their connection to consumer satisfaction and loyalty. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research focuses on document analysis, particularly the company's annual reports, as the primary data source. Green marketing analysis indicators include corporate commitment, green products, green place/distribution, and green promotion. Concurrently, consumer satisfaction indicators refer to company statements regarding positive consumer responses and a focus on sustainability preferences, while consumer loyalty is measured by claims of brand strengthening, consumer involvement in sustainability programs, and brand differentiation. The analysis reveals that PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk consistently integrates sustainability principles into their core business, reflecting green marketing as a holistic strategy aimed at building trust, meeting ethical expectations, and ultimately driving consumer satisfaction and loyalty. Narratives within the annual reports explicitly link green initiatives to positive consumer responses and enhanced brand loyalty, indicating that the company views green marketing as a crucial element in fostering long-term relationships with its customers. This study is expected to provide valuable insights into corporate sustainability communication strategies and their implications for consumer behavior within the Indonesian market context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interest of students of the Faculty of Education (FIP) of Makassar State University in participating in the Certified Independent Study Internship Program (MSIB), part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy. A quantitative approach with a descriptive survey type was used. The research sample was 95 students from four study programs at FIP UNM, taken using stratified random sampling and the Slovin formula. Data collection through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The research instrument was proven valid through the Pearson Product Moment correlation, and reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.842. The results showed that students' interest in MSIB was complex. Although there was a high initiative in seeking information and considering MSIB in the study plan, positive perceptions were not always in line with students' specific motivation or readiness. on average, they did not feel the suitability of the program to their field of study, and were not motivated to gain work experience or new experiences through MSIB, even the experiences offered were considered less attractive to almost half of the students. Supporting factors for interest include active initiative in accessing information and the desire to integrate MSIB into study planning. However, significant barriers were identified: unpreparedness for full-time commitment, reluctance to be placed outside the city/campus and relatively very low commitment to completing the program, as well as not being ready to face challenges and the need to improve socialization. The conclusion confirms that although MSIB is a strategic opportunity, optimal participation is hampered by the misalignment of intrinsic motivation, time and location commitment, and mental readiness. Recommendations include adjusting the communication of benefits, increasing program flexibility, and providing more intensive readiness support.
