Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has the potential to strengthen environmentally friendly behavior. This community engagement program was implemented at an SB (learning center) under the auspices of the Indonesian School of Kuala Lumpur (SIKL) in Kajang, Malaysia. The program aimed to build knowledge, attitudes, and practice (KAP) as a pathway to reinforcing pro-environmental behavior. A participatory, practice-based approach was used through four main interventions: foundational ecoliteracy lessons, a 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) recycling workshop, an educational mini-garden, and the “My Clean Environment” campaign. Evaluation combined pre–post knowledge tests (oral/written), a Likert 1–5 attitude survey (teacher observation/journaling), and program documentation. Four interventions were completed with high achievement: foundational lessons 87% (34/39 children demonstrated concept mastery); the recycling workshop 100% (all participants sorted waste and produced recycled crafts—photo frames and plant pots); the mini-garden 100% (15/15 children planted and cared for crops); and the campaign 100% participation with enthusiasm (poster products; visibly cleaner learning spaces). Knowledge gains were confirmed on several indicators: understanding of basic ecoliteracy concepts increased from 3 to 34 of 39 children; examples of pro-environmental behavior from 15 to 32 children; and recognition of environment-related Qur’anic verses/hadith from 2/15 to 15/15. Attitudes also trended positively (Likert Δ): cleanliness concern +1.0; enthusiasm for planting +3.5; discipline in waste disposal +0.5; responsibility for plant care +0.5; gratitude for God’s creation +1.5. Conclusion: Integrating PAI into ecoliteracy effectively strengthens children’s KAP. For comprehensive success, the follow-up plan includes implementing the postponed science experiment, standardizing measurement instruments, and establishing sustainability mechanisms (mini-garden upkeep, permanent 3R facilities, and post-program monitoring).

Abstract

his study aims to examine the influence of financial personality traits and risk perceived on investment decision-making behavior among Generation Z in North Sumatra. The increasing participation of young investors through digital investment platforms highlights the need to understand psychological factors that shape their financial decision-making patterns. A quantitative approach was employed, using primary data collected from 247 Generation Z respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS) method. The findings reveal that financial personality traits have a significant and positive effect on investment decision-making behavior, indicating that self-control, risk tolerance, and future orientation serve as key determinants of investment choices among young investors. Risk perceived also shows a significant effect, demonstrating that higher levels of perceived risk tend to reduce the likelihood of making aggressive investment decisions. The model explains 48,7% of the variance in investment decision-making behavior, indicating strong explanatory power. This research contributes empirical evidence that psychological factors play a critical role in shaping the investment behavior of Generation Z, particularly in emerging regional contexts such as North Sumatra. The findings are expected to support the development of more adaptive and personality-based financial literacy strategies and provide direction for future studies to incorporate broader contextual variables.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the optimalisation strategy for unit cost management in the Food and Beverage (F&B) division in order to improve the sustainable profitability of star-rated hotels in Yogyakarta. In the hospitality industry, particularly in star-rated hotels, the F&B division contributes significantly to non-room revenue. However, high operational costs and fluctuations in raw material prices require management to exercise effective cost control without compromising service quality. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study examines cost unit management practices based on recipe standards, Point of Sales (POS) systems, selection of suppliers with competitive prices, and menu engineering strategies. In addition, technology integration and budgeting are also analysed as part of cost efficiency efforts. The results of the study indicate that the success of unit cost optimisation is determined by the synergy between operational efficiency, cash flow control, and innovation in the presentation of F&B products. The conclusion of this study emphasises that proper unit cost management not only impacts short-term profits, but also supports the long-term sustainability of the hotel business, especially amid dynamic markets and ever-changing consumer behaviour.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a disease characterized by increased blood sugar levels. Indonesia is ranked 5th in the world with the highest number of diabetes mellitus sufferers. Diabetic neuropathy is a chronic complication in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The risk factors that cause diabetic neuropathy are divided into two, namely factors that can be modified hyperglycemia, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity, and alcohol consumption, and risk factors that cannot be modified age, gender, duration of suffering from DM, and HbA1C levels. This research is observational analytic using a case control design, to determine the characteristics of diabetes mellitus patients and HbA1C levels as risk factors for diabetic neuropathy. The sample in this study was selected using a consecutive sampling technique and the number of samples in this study was 31 samples in the case group and 31 samples in the control group. The highest age of patients in this study was in the group ≥60 years, namely 17 patients (54.8%), the risk factor was that age ≥60 years in diabetes mellitus patients had a 1.3 times chance of suffering from diabetic neuropathy (OR=1.304; 95% CI = 0.474-3.585). The largest gender was in the female group, namely 21 patients (67.7%), risk factors: female gender has a 1.1 times chance of suffering from diabetic neuropathy (OR=1.164; 95% CI= 0.395-3.431). The highest BMI was in the normal group, namely 19 patients (61.3%), in this study BMI was not a risk factor for diabetic neuropathy (OR=1.000; 95% CI=0.360-2.779). The longest duration of suffering from DM was in the >5 years group, namely 17 patients (54.8%), the risk factor was that the duration of suffering from DM >5 years was 1.7 times the chance of suffering from diabetic neuropathy (OR=1.729; 95% CI=0.615-4.860). The smoking habit was highest in the non-smoking group, namely 20 patients (64.5%), in this study smoking habit was not a risk factor for diabetic neuropathy (OR=1,000; 95% CI=0.353-2.831). The highest HbA1C levels in this study were in the uncontrolled group, namely 17 patients (54.8%), risk factors for uncontrolled HbA1C had a 1.1 times chance of suffering from diabetic neuropathy (OR=1.140; 95% CI=0.418-3.114). Age, gender, duration of suffering from DM and HbA1C levels are risk factors for diabetic neuropathy.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of a hybrid learning model in limited face-to-face instruction at SMAN 1 Taliwang, developed as an adaptive response to post-pandemic learning conditions. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the ADDIE model, data were collected through classroom observations, questionnaires for teachers and students, and analysis of pre-test and post-test learning outcomes. The findings indicate that integrating digital tools—such as Google Classroom, video-based materials, and digital modules—helped maintain learning continuity despite reduced classroom hours. Most students reported that digital media facilitated their understanding of the material, although some still faced internet access challenges, particularly those living in peripheral areas of Taliwang. The results show significant improvements in student learning processes and outcomes. The average post-test scores increased compared to the pre-test, and student participation in submitting digital assignments exceeded 85%. Teachers also stated that the hybrid learning model provided greater flexibility in delivering materials and conducting assessments. Although the model did not fully resolve all technical issues and variations in students’ digital literacy, it proved feasible and effective as an adaptive learning strategy at SMAN 1 Taliwang. These findings support the continued refinement and long-term integration of educational technology within the school’s instructional practices.

Abstract

This study evaluates the structural performance of a Class I pedestrian suspension bridge using two pylon configurations steel and steel–concrete composite through numerical analysis with SAP2000. The design follows SE Menteri PU No.02/SE/M/2010, SNI 2833:2013, SNI 2833:2013, and SNI 1725:2016. The conceptual model is located at the Kampar River with a 100 m main span, 15 m side spans, and a 1.8 m width. Load cases include dead load, symmetric and asymmetric live loads, seismic loads for zone 4, and wind loads with a design speed of 35 m/s. Results show both models have similar structural responses, although the composite pylon provides higher stiffness. Results indicate that the structural responses of both models are very close, although the composite pylon exhibits higher stiffness. Differences in maximum deformation are minimal: 0.000034 m due to seismic loading, 0.000001 m due to wind, and 0.000003 m for girder deflection. Cable stresses also differ slightly, with values of 0.15 kN/m² for the main cables and 125.81 kN/m² for the backstays. Overall, the composite pylon is considered an efficient alternative for increasing stiffness without significantly altering the structural behavior.

Abstract

The integration of wind power plants into Indonesia’s electrical grid requires a high level of operational reliability, particularly during network disturbances that trigger temporary voltage dips. Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) conditions pose a major challenge, as they can induce transient instability in the generator and potentially lead to turbine disconnection from the grid. This study aims to evaluate the transient stability of a wind turbine generator during grid disturbances by analyzing the current response in the d and q axes, which serves as a key dynamic indicator within the wind energy conversion system. To enhance the turbine's ability to remain connected during LVRT events, a STATCOM controlled by a Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) is employed to provide rapid and adaptive reactive power compensation. Simulations are conducted to observe the oscillation patterns, damping behavior, and steady-state conditions of both current components following the disturbance. The results demonstrate that the d–q axis currents exhibit well-damped oscillations, return smoothly to steady-state values, and show no signs of divergence. These findings confirm that the LQR-controlled STATCOM significantly improves transient stability, enhances the operational reliability of wind power plants, and supports the safer and more sustainable integration of renewable energy into the electrical grid.
