Abstract

The development of digital technology has created new interaction spaces that enable online prostitution, one of which is through the MiChat application. The anonymity and people nearby features make it easier for users to interact without clear identities, creating a loophole for covert sexual transactions. This research uses a critical paradigm with a qualitative approach through interviews, digital observation, and document analysis to understand how anonymity operates as a mechanism of power. The results show that coded language such as "ST/LT," "Open BO," and "300 up" are used to disguise transactions, while the application's algorithm reinforces power relations through account visibility. Social factors such as economic pressure, a consumptive lifestyle, and low digital literacy contribute to increasing adolescent vulnerability. In conclusion, online prostitution on the MiChat application is not only the result of individual abuse, but also the result of the interaction between technological design, anonymity, and social structures that support exploitative practices in the digital space

Abstract

Background: Mental disorders represent a complex public health issue that requires a comprehensive rehabilitative approach. In Indonesia, the increasing prevalence of people with mental disorders highlights the need for rehabilitation services that integrate medical, social, and psychological components. Objective: This study aims to analyze the rehabilitation needs of individuals with mental disorders at the Kampung Investasi Hati Service Facility as a strategic approach to addressing mental health problems in the community. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was employed using total sampling of all residents and Kampung Investasi Hati Service Facility staff. The “Pulih Questionnaire” was used to assess clinical symptoms and social functioning. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, and document review, and were analyzed descriptively using frequency distribution and narrative synthesis. Results: The majority of residents were male, aged >60 years, diagnosed with hebephrenic or paranoid schizophrenia, and had stayed for more than five years. Basic needs were fulfilled; however, psychosocial rehabilitation remained minimal. Daily activities did not follow the established schedule, and only a few residents participated in vocational therapy. Several facilities required improvement, including bedrooms, toilets, activity rooms, and security systems. Human resources were limited; most staff were non-medical personnel and lacked continuous mental health training. Variation in treatment centers created challenges in monitoring therapy. Mean clinical symptom scores (6.41%) approached the threshold for clinical attention, while social functioning scores were within the moderate category (13.48%). Conclusion: Rehabilitation needs at the Kampung Investasi Hati Service Facility have not been optimally met. Strengthening human resources, improving infrastructure, establishing structured rehabilitation programs, and enhancing coordination with healthcare facilities are required to ensure continuity of care.

Abstract

This study examines the gastronomy of the Osing community in Banyuwangi as a socio-cultural representation that includes symbolic, spiritual, social, and ecological dimensions. The Osing people as the indigenous people of Banyuwangi have a culinary tradition that not only serves as a fulfillment of food needs, but also as a medium of cultural expression, ethnic identity, and guardian of local wisdom. Globalization and modernization affect the consumption patterns of the younger generation, so that traditional culinary values have the potential to be degraded. Through a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods, including participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. This research was conducted in Kemiren Village as the center of Osing culture. The results of the study show that ritual dishes such as pecel pitik, tumpeng sewu, and tumpeng songo contain the philosophy of human harmony with nature, spiritual relationship with ancestors, and social solidarity through the practice of mutual cooperation. Local ingredients and traditional processing techniques reflect the ecological knowledge of the Osing people that is in harmony with the principles of sustainable gastronomy. In the context of tourism, Osing culinary plays a strategic role as the main attraction, but at the same time faces the challenge of cultural commodification due to the development of the tourism industry. The community-based gastronomic tourism model is a solution to maintain cultural authenticity while providing economic benefits for local communities. This research confirms that Osing gastronomy is a holistic knowledge system that integrates cultural, ecological, and economic aspects, and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These findings are expected to be the basis for the development of traditional culinary preservation policies and the strengthening of sustainable tourism in Banyuwangi.

Abstract

In the development of sustainable tourism, careful planning and comprehensive management are critical issues, particularly in relation to the potential social impacts arising from tourism activities. Tourists bring their cultures, values, and behaviors into local communities, inevitably influencing the social and economic life of the residents. To minimize these potential impacts, an effective management framework is required. One such framework is the concept of social carrying capacity, which serves not only as a measure of the optimal utilization of resources and tourism activities but also as a guideline for determining the maximum level of interaction and participation between local communities and tourists within a destination area. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study method focused on Serangan Village, Bali. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation to analyze how tourism development and reclamation have affected social life and community behavior. The analysis was conducted descriptively to explore how social carrying capacity can function as a framework for controlling the social impacts of tourism. The findings are expected to contribute to the formulation of community-based tourism management strategies that promote social balance and sustainability in tourist destinations

Abstract

This study examines the effect of firm size and the Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR) on firm value, measured by Price to Book Value (PBV), with liquidity as a mediating variable in the Indonesian healthcare sector during 2022–2024. The research is motivated by the rapid growth of the healthcare industry post-pandemic, accompanied by dynamic variations in firm value that are not always aligned with company size or financial sustainability. Using a purposive sampling method, 19 healthcare companies listed on the IDX were selected, with data drawn from annual reports and financial statements. The analysis employed panel data regression with the Random Effect Model (REM) and Sobel tests to assess mediation effects. The results indicate that both firm size and FSR negatively affect PBV, suggesting that larger firms and those with higher FSR may be perceived as less efficient or riskier by investors. Similarly, firm size and FSR also negatively impact liquidity (Current Ratio), showing that business expansion and debt-based structures may reduce short-term solvency. Regarding mediation, liquidity does not significantly mediate the relationship between firm size and PBV, indicating that market valuation of size occurs directly rather than through liquidity. However, liquidity is found to significantly mediate the effect of FSR on PBV, implying that firms with balanced financial structures and healthy liquidity levels are more positively valued by investors. Overall, the findings highlight that in the healthcare sector, investors place greater emphasis on efficiency, growth prospects, and prudent financial management rather than merely company scale or leverage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of work culture and employee engagement on the productivity of employees at the Indonesian Quarantine Agency (Barantin). The background of this study is based on the challenges faced by public organisations, which often encounter low employee engagement and fluctuations in productivity due to a bureaucratic work culture and a lack of adaptability to change. This study employs a quantitative method using purposive sampling techniques on 160 employees, with data analysis conducted using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) via SmartPLS. The results indicate that work culture has a positive and significant impact on work productivity, with a coefficient of 0.494, a t-statistic of 6.778, and a p-value of 0.000. A strong work culture, encompassing integrity, collaboration, innovation, and responsibility, has been proven to enhance employee performance. Additionally, employee engagement also has a positive and significant impact on productivity, with a coefficient of 0.460, a t-statistic of 6.334, and a p-value of 0.000. Employee engagement, measured through the indicators of vigor, dedication, and absorption, drives increased motivation, focus, and work quality. The R-square value of 0.861 indicates that the work culture and employee engagement variables can explain 86.1% of the variation in work productivity, while the predictive relevance (Q²) of 0.725 indicates that the model has high predictive powerThis finding emphasises the importance of strengthening a positive work culture and increasing employee engagement to achieve optimal and sustainable productivity in public organisations.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of organizational commitment as a mediating variable between work competence and employee performance at the Indonesian Agricultural Quarantine Agency. In a competitive business environment, human resource management becomes a key factor in achieving organizational excellence. Work competence is considered an important factor in enhancing performance, yet employees’ emotional attachment to the organization also plays a vital role in optimizing their contributions. The study adopts a quantitative approach with explanatory research methods and employs Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis to test the relationships among variables. The results show that work competence significantly influences organizational commitment (coefficient 0.762, T statistic 13.579) and employee performance (coefficient 0.417, T statistic 10.175). Organizational commitment also has a significant effect on employee performance (coefficient 0.578, T statistic 14.550). Moreover, organizational commitment is proven to be a significant mediating variable in the relationship between work competence and employee performance (coefficient 0.440, T statistic 8.909). These findings are supported by social exchange theory and the psychological contract, as well as prior studies such as Meyer and Allen (1991) and Mowday et al. (1979), although other research has shown varying results depending on organizational context. The study concludes that improving work competence must be accompanied by strategies to strengthen organizational commitment in order to achieve optimal employee performance. The practical implication is that organizations should create a supportive work environment, provide recognition for employee competence, and foster strong emotional bonds with employees.
