Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity was carried out as an effort to support road user safety through community empowerment in the manufacture and installation of road reflectors in Tamansari Village, Pulomerak District, Cilegon. The activity was motivated by the need for visibility support facilities at several points in the road environment, especially in low lighting conditions. The implementation of the activity took place for two days, namely 7–8 August 2026, with the target locations of RT 07 RW 06 Link Langon Indah and RT 02 RW 06 Jalan Kedalon Link Babakan Turi. The activity method used a participatory approach which included observation of location conditions, coordination with the community, identification of installation points, preparation and manufacture of reflectors, installation, and evaluation of activity results. The results of the implementation showed that the reflectors were successfully made and installed at predetermined points based on environmental conditions. The activity also resulted in active community involvement in the preparation process until the installation of safety facilities. The presence of reflectors provides additional visual signs for road users and is one form of safety support facilities in environments with limited lighting. In addition to the physical benefits, the activity encourages increased public awareness of environmental safety and the importance of sustainable facility maintenance. This initiative is expected to be the first step in developing a safer, more orderly, more comfortable, and more responsive road environment to public safety needs.

Abstract

Community based recycling initiatives require not only production skills but also business management and digital marketing capabilities to create sustainable economic value. This community service program aimed to strengthen the green economy, business bookkeeping, recycled product development, branding, and digital marketing capacity of EcoJaya Craft, a women led home industry group in Bekasi Jaya, East Bekasi. The program used an educative participatory approach combining needs identification, guided practice, mentoring, technology adoption, and formative output based evaluation. This paper reports three documented core meetings held on June 15, June 25, and July 2, 2026. The intervention connected business management with upcycling practice and digital promotion. Documented outputs indicate achieved status for business bookkeeping and recycled craft development. Product outputs expanded from simple bags to a wider range including wallets, pouches, bottle holders, and stationery holders, accompanied by better finishing, more consistent production support, and the use of the EcoJaya Craft brand identity. Digital marketing follow up emphasized content planning, channel management, visual consistency, and monitoring preparation. The results suggest that integrating circular economy practice with simple digital tools can strengthen community readiness for more professional and market oriented microenterprise management.

Abstract

The community empowerment program was conducted in Polinggona Village, Polinggona District, Kolaka Regency, which has considerable potential in aren palm (Arenga pinnata) resources. However, the utilization of aren palm remains limited due to traditional processing practices, limited production technology, low product diversification, inadequate packaging and marketing, and low added value. This program aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of aren palm processors through counseling, training, and participatory assistance in developing diversified aren-based products. The activity used a participatory approach through field observation, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), problem identification, counseling, appropriate technology introduction, and hands-on practice of product diversification. The results showed that the activities provided participants with knowledge and practical skills related to aren palm cultivation, hygienic processing, the use of appropriate production technology, product diversification, packaging, and digital marketing. The diversification practice resulted in aren chips as an alternative processed product with potential to increase product variety and economic value. The program also encouraged participants to improve product packaging and develop wider marketing opportunities. Overall, the activities contributed to strengthening the capacity of the partner community in processing aren palm products and supporting the development of local economic potential in a more sustainable manner.

Abstract

Polinggona Village is an area in the Polinggona District, Kolaka Regency, where the community has traditionally processed palm sap into palm sugar as a source of livelihood. This business is still run traditionally, resulting in unstable production results, prone to failure, and knowledge regarding proper cultivation and processing practices is not well documented. This activity aims to explore the potential, local wisdom, and problems of palm sugar processing groups, as well as provide counseling to support the sustainability of palm sugar businesses in Polinggona Village. The implementation method consists of three stages: observation and interviews, in-depth to explore potential, counseling and group discussions, and mentoring and evaluation. The activity involved palm sugar processing groups in Polinggona Village as target partners. The results of the activity indicate that palm sugar production is strongly influenced by the season, the cleanliness of tapping tools, and limited fuel and cooking equipment. While some practical knowledge of farmers regarding the physical characteristics of productive trees and the use of natural materials to assist in palm sugar processing is not fully in line with general references in previous research, particularly regarding the age of tapping and the volume of sap produced. This extension successfully identified the gap between theory and field practice, providing the basis for developing a follow-up empowerment program, including training in production technology, product diversification, and marketing. This activity is a crucial first step in documenting the local wisdom of palm sugar processors while strengthening the sustainability of palm sugar as a leading regional product.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve financial literacy among mothers in the Depok area through the dissemination of simple bookkeeping techniques and training in preparing financial reports. This activity is motivated by the low financial record-keeping skills of households and small businesses run by mothers, which often makes it difficult to manage cash flow, assess profits, and plan for long-term needs. The implementation method includes interactive counseling, simulations of recording daily transactions, and direct practice in preparing simple financial reports based on income and expenses. Participants are trained to understand the importance of financial record-keeping, recognize the components of financial reports, and be able to prepare reports that can be used as a basis for economic decision-making for families and micro-businesses. The expected results of this activity are increased financial awareness, the formation of simple financial record-keeping habits, and the ability of mothers to prepare more structured financial reports. Thus, this PKM is expected to make a real contribution to supporting family economic independence and community empowerment in Depok.

Abstract

Adequate street lighting is an important factor in improving security, comfort, and social activity, particularly in rural areas with limited access to electricity infrastructure. This community service program aims to provide an alternative lighting solution by installing Solar-Powered Street Lighting (PJU-PLTS) in Kampung Panday, Batubantar Village. The main problem faced by the community was the lack of street lighting facilities at night, which affected residents' mobility, environmental security, and economic activity. The program was carried out through several stages: site survey, energy needs identification, system design, equipment installation, and testing. The applied system relies on solar energy converted through solar panels to charge storage batteries, which then automatically power street lamps at night. The results show that the PJU-PLTS installation successfully provides an independent, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient lighting source that operates without depending on the conventional electricity grid. For the partner community, the program delivered concrete outcomes: improved environmental security along previously dark roads, increased nighttime mobility and socio-economic activity, and reduced dependence on monthly electricity costs. This community service activity is expected to serve as a model for solar energy technology implementation that can be replicated in other locations facing similar challenges
