Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the understanding and capability of businesses in Kendari City in preparing financial reports in accordance with the Private Entity Financial Accounting Standards (SAK EP). The initiative was motivated by the low level of accounting literacy and the limited adoption of SAK EP among business actors, which has led to restricted access to financing, suboptimal decision-making, and potential risks of tax non-compliance. Implemented over three months by an academic team from Halu Oleo University, the program comprised three key phases: socialization, technical training, and hands-on mentoring. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' awareness of the importance of accounting and their practical skills in preparing SAK EP-based financial reports. Program deliverables included training modules, standardized financial report templates, and individual action plans designed to strengthen bookkeeping practices and encourage the use of accounting software. A short-term evaluation and follow-up online mentoring were conducted to support the sustainability of the program's impact. This initiative is expected to contribute to enhanced financial transparency, improved tax compliance, and increased overall competitiveness of local businesses.

Abstract

The high open unemployment rate among Vocational High School (SMK) graduates indicates a gap between the competencies taught in schools and the real demands of the labor market. Many graduates possess technical skills but lack the soft skills, particularly in personal branding and self-marketing, which are crucial for securing employment in the competitive digital era. This community service activity (PKM) aimed to equip students of SMK Al-Khaeriyah Pengampelan with practical knowledge and skills in personal branding and self-marketing strategies to enhance their competitiveness in the job market. The program employed a comprehensive method, integrating Human Resource Management and Marketing perspectives. The stages included needs analysis through questionnaires and observation, interactive workshops, CV and portfolio creation, mock interviews, LinkedIn optimization training, and individual mentoring. Evaluation was conducted through pre-test and post-test, analysis of student work, and satisfaction surveys. The activity showed a significant increase in students' understanding, with a 75% improvement in post-test scores. Participants successfully created professional CVs, compelling cover letters, digital portfolios, and optimized LinkedIn profiles. The school's satisfaction level with the program reached 95%. The implementation of personal branding and self-marketing strategies effectively increased students' confidence, self-awareness, and readiness to face the job market. This program serves as a sustainable model that can be replicated in other vocational schools to improve graduate competitiveness.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to support efforts to organize traders based on economic zones in order to improve accessibility and consumer comfort in Gowa Regency. The background of the activity is based on the problem of suboptimal trader arrangement, characterized by low spatial order, obstacles to pedestrian access, and decreased consumer comfort in traditional trading areas. The method used is a participatory and collaborative approach through the stages of problem identification, economic zoning design, mentoring and educating traders, and monitoring and evaluation. The results of the activity indicate that the implementation of economic zoning can improve stall order, improve area accessibility, and create a cleaner and more comfortable trading environment. In addition, active participation of traders in the arrangement process increases a sense of ownership and compliance with the zoning agreement. From the consumer perspective, this arrangement has a positive impact on ease of access and shopping comfort. This activity is based on an adaptive and contextual economic zone-based trader arrangement model, and has the potential to be replicated in other regions. Overall, this service contributes to strengthening the local economy, improving the quality of public spaces, and the sustainability of trader businesses in Gowa Regency.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the implementation of a Human Resource Management Information System (SIM SDM) and digital marketing strategies in Banggai Kepulauan Regency, Central Sulawesi. The main problems faced by partner MSMEs include weak human resource management, low digital literacy, and limited market access due to the geographical conditions of the archipelago. This activity was carried out for one month in November 2025 using a participatory approach through training, mentoring, and direct practice. The activity methods included needs assessment, simple SIM SDM training, social media and marketplace-based digital marketing training, and implementation and evaluation assistance. The results of the activity showed an increase in understanding and skills of MSME actors in more structured HR management, increased utilization of digital platforms for marketing, and positive changes in business managerial and marketing practices. The synergy between strengthening internal management and digital marketing has been proven to improve operational efficiency and expand the market reach of MSMEs. This activity is expected to become a sustainable service model and can be replicated in other archipelago regions with similar characteristics to support the digital transformation of MSMEs.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the company's understanding and ability to compile and disclose Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) sustainability reporting standards. This program is carried out through Technical Guidance (Bimtek) activities to three companies in Kendari City, namely PT Bank Muamalat Kendari Branch, PT Jamkrindo Kendari Branch, and PT Satu Tiga lima Sejahtera Kendari. The implementation method includes three main stages, namely program technical guidance, the implementation of mentoring programs, as well as guidance, monitoring, and evaluation activities. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the understanding, knowledge, and skills of the company's finance department employees in preparing financial statements that contain CSR disclosures in accordance with GRI and Sustainability Reporting Standards (SPK). Participants showed high enthusiasm and gave positive responses to the material, report preparation practices, and live demonstrations. In addition, this activity succeeded in producing outputs in the form of CSR disclosure formats in financial statements that can be used as a reference for partner companies. These findings are in line with the theory of corporate social responsibility which states that CSR is a company's commitment to contribute to sustainable development through a balance between economic, social, and environmental aspects (Carroll, 1999; Elkington, 1997). This activity is expected to strengthen the awareness of companies in Kendari City on the importance of transparency and accountability in CSR reporting and be the first step towards sustainable corporate governance.

Abstract

The Community Service International (CSI) program is a form of cross-border community service that aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs through a knowledge sharing and service digitization approach. This activity was carried out at one of the noodle-based culinary MSMEs in Malaysia which is still facing operational and technological constraints, such as the unavailability of QR codes for menus and orders, uncomfortable space layouts, the absence of a cash register so that transaction recording is still done manually, and an inefficient ordering flow because it uses a writing method on paper. Different from academic research that emphasizes theoretical analysis, PKM activities focus on solving real problems through socialization, technical direction, mentoring, and the creation of direct solutions that can be implemented by MSMEs. The results of the activity showed an increase in operational efficiency through the implementation of QR codes, the use of digital cashier applications, the improvement of business layouts, the preparation of simple SOPs, and an understanding of digital marketing. These findings show that knowledge-sharing-based Community Service International can be an effective approach in empowering culinary MSMEs in Malaysia to face modernization and digitalization challenges.

Abstract

The short film scriptwriting training for persons with disabilities, organized by Rumah Vokasi Hanenda in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Surakarta, aims to enhance narrative literacy, creativity, and inclusive participation of people with disabilities within the filmmaking ecosystem. The program was implemented through a community-based empowerment approach that positioned participants as active subjects using methods such as discussion, hands-on practice, and production. The activity involved 11 participants from 10 special-needs schools (SLB) in Yogyakarta, supported by 12 accompanying teachers who served as adaptive facilitators. The training materials covered ideation, premise development, character building, and the writing of simple scripts, all adjusted to the needs of deaf, blind, and intellectually disabled participants. The outcomes demonstrate improvements in the participants’ scriptwriting skills, self-confidence, and creative expression. The four scripts produced reflect human values, inclusion, and the participants’ lived experiences. This program not only strengthens individual capacities but also fosters a collaborative space that promotes authentic representation of disability in film. The initiative serves as an inclusive learning model that can be replicated to empower people with disabilities in the arts and cultural sector.

Abstract

International Empowerment of Students in Malaysia have goal to introduce agribusiness and marketing education concepts to elementary-level students in Malaysia through interactive and experiential learning activities. The program focuses on enhancing students’ understanding of agricultural products, marketing processes, and entrepreneurship spirit at an early age. The activity was conducted collaboratively between the service team and local partner schools through a series of simulations in which students acted as sellers and buyers of fruits and vegetables. To make the activity more realistic and engaging, the team provided play money as a medium of transaction, enabling students to experience the process of buying, selling, and negotiating prices in a fun learning environment. In addition, the program included the development of simple and contextual learning materials, such as a student activity book and digital worksheets, aligned with the students’ level of understanding. The mentoring sessions also involved local teachers to ensure sustainability and replication of the agribusiness learning model beyond the program period. The results of the activity showed increased student engagement and comprehension of basic marketing principles, as well as enhanced teacher capacity in integrating agribusiness content into classroom learning. This empowerment initiative not only fostered students’ entrepreneurial awareness but also supported the goal of global education collaboration through agribusiness knowledge sharing. The program contributed to building a foundation for sustainable education practices that align with the spirit of international cooperation and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in quality education and economic growth.

Abstract

This community service program was initiated in response to the limited variety and low nutritional quality of children’s snacks in the coastal area of Panggungrejo, Pasuruan. Many available snacks are inexpensive but lack essential nutrients needed for children’s growth and development. Therefore, this activity focuses on improving community awareness of nutrition by utilizing abundant local natural resources, especially sea fish, as the main ingredient for innovative food products. Sea fish was processed into fish pudding, a unique, nutritious, affordable, and child-friendly snack alternative. The implementation method included counseling sessions, interactive discussions, and hands-on assistance in product preparation. Participants were introduced to the nutritional benefits of fish and practical techniques for transforming it into attractive snacks with better market value. Through this program, the community is expected to gain new skills and knowledge in food processing, improve family nutrition, and develop creative business opportunities based on local marine resources, thereby supporting household income and coastal economic empowerment.

Abstract

Mbangkong Village is predominantly inhabited by young people, accounting for 58% of the total population. Most of the youth in this village, especially women, do not pursue higher education and tend to marry at an early age. This socio-demographic condition has limited the community's livelihood choices, which are primarily concentrated in agriculture, animal husbandry, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). One of the MSMEs that partnered in this community engagement program is a free-range native chicken farming business that generates monthly revenue of IDR 8–10 million. Although market demand for native chicken continues to grow, the business faces a 35% supply gap that has yet to be addressed. The partner MSME faces several core challenges, including: (1) inadequate security of the farm area due to the absence of proper fencing, making it vulnerable to external threats; (2) limited managerial capacity in business planning, management, and evaluation, which are still carried out using traditional methods; and (3) lack of product diversification, with income solely dependent on the sale of live chickens and eggs, without any value-added products. This community engagement program aims to provide comprehensive solutions through three main approaches: (1) improving production capacity by building or repairing chicken coops and securing the farm area to make it safer and more productive; (2) providing entrepreneurship management training for MSME actors and local business communities in Mbangkong Village to enhance their business sustainability skills; and (3) developing derivative products from native chicken to increase added value and expand market reach. The expected outcomes of this program include: (1) improved farm safety and productivity through physical infrastructure enhancement; (2) strengthened managerial knowledge and skills of the MSME partner through entrepreneurship training; and (3) increased business income through product diversification and market development. Ultimately, this program is expected to strengthen the MSME partners' economic resilience and promote sustainable local economic growth.
