Abstract

This study investigates the attitudes of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in Ciamis District, Indonesia, concerning student visits to non-Muslim places of worship. Employing a qualitative research methodology, specifically through in-depth interviews, we sought to capture the nuanced perspectives of these educators. Our findings reveal that the preponderant majority of teachers hold a positive outlook on such visits. They generally permit these educational excursions, provided that the visits are explicitly geared towards educational objectives and that students are deemed sufficiently mature to grasp religious diversity and are prepared to foster peaceful coexistence. These insights are particularly salient for educational institutions, offering a tangible framework for designing and implementing interfaith engagements that extend beyond mere theoretical instruction. Critically, this research underscores the potential of these carefully curated visits to cultivate a profound sense of tolerance and mutual understanding among students towards faiths distinct from their own. More broadly, the findings carry significant implications for curriculum development in religious education, suggesting a pedagogical shift towards experiential learning that directly addresses issues of religious pluralism and social harmony. Furthermore, they highlight the pivotal role of teacher disposition in shaping student attitudes toward diversity, offering a compelling case for professional development initiatives that support nuanced approaches to religious tolerance in increasingly diverse societies.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of boarding school management at SMP Islam Al-Hadi Mojolaban, focusing on three key aspects: operational practices, efforts to enhance learning quality, and the challenges encountered. A descriptive qualitative approach was chosen to deeply capture the complexity of the phenomenon, with data collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Participants were initially selected purposefully, then expanded using snowball sampling to capture key perspectives that might not have been apparent in the initial stages. The research findings reveal that the management model at this institution is integrated, closely linking boarding life with school academic activities. In practice, management encompasses five main dimensions: student administration, teacher management, provision of facilities and infrastructure, program design, and evaluation mechanisms. Nevertheless, efforts to improve learning quality are not without challenges—some structural, others contextual—which, interestingly, provoke creative adaptations from stakeholders. This analysis provides a realistic overview of boarding school dynamics within an Islamic educational setting, simultaneously highlighting the gaps between theory and practice that often escape academic discussion. We note that the integrated approach adopted by SMP Islam Al-Hadi offers valuable insights, though it is not yet entirely optimal, particularly concerning resource allocation and curriculum adjustments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financing system of early childhood education at MGI Handapherang Kindergarten in Ciamis. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, direct observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the financing system at the institution involves multiple stakeholders, including the government, parents, and the local community. Several factors influence the effectiveness of this system, such as the level of parental involvement, government policies, and the availability of resources. One of the central challenges identified is the limited financial support from both governmental and parental sources. The study underscores the vital role of collaborative efforts among stakeholders in ensuring equitable, high-quality, and sustainable early childhood education. Data were obtained through interviews with key informants—including school administrators, parents, and local government representatives—complemented by on-site observations of payment and administrative procedures, as well as a review of relevant documents, such as financial reports, policy guidelines, and records of parental participation in school activities.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a strategic role in forming a generation of Muslims who are faithful, knowledgeable, and have noble character. To achieve this goal, curriculum administration is a crucial component that must be managed professionally and systematically. In the midst of globalization and the rapid development of technology, Islamic educational institutions are required to continue to innovate in order to remain relevant and competitive. Unfortunately, curriculum administration is often overlooked, even though it has a significant role in determining the effectiveness and quality of education. This article aims to explore the urgency of curriculum administration in the development of effective and quality Islamic education. This research uses the literature study method by analyzing various literature sources, such as books, scientific journals, articles, and relevant policy documents. The results of the study show that curriculum administration in Islamic education must be able to integrate Islamic values holistically into all aspects of learning. In addition, continuous evaluation of the development of learners' soft skills is an important part of ensuring that religious knowledge can be implemented in real life. With good curriculum administration management, Islamic education has the potential to produce graduates who are not only intellectually intelligent, but also superior in morality and readiness to face the challenges of the times.

Abstract

Memorizing the Quran, an act revered across the Islamic world, stands as a profoundly virtuous form of worship. Beyond its spiritual significance, this endeavor demands considerable cognitive and psychological engagement. The primary objective of our research was to meticulously analyze the essential psychological factors that play a crucial role in this complex process of Quran memorization. To achieve this, we employed a literature review approach, systematically gathering and analyzing a wide array of relevant scholarly literature pertaining to psychological factors in Quran memorization. This method allowed us to build a comprehensive understanding from various existing perspectives. Our analysis revealed that several key psychological factors indeed significantly impact the Quran memorization process. Specifically, we found that motivation, both intrinsic (arising from within, like love for Allah) and extrinsic (triggered by external factors, like social support), serves as a primary driver for individuals to engage in memorization efforts. High concentration and sustained focus are also paramount in ensuring the effectiveness and speed of the learning process. Furthermore, a strong interest in the Quran can considerably enhance motivation and perseverance in memorizing its verses. Not to be overlooked, self-efficacy, or one's belief in their ability to perform an action and overcome obstacles, also plays a vital role in determining success. Conversely, anxiety emerged as a potential hindrance that can disrupt concentration and impede the memorization process.
