Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of macroeconomic variables in stock market investments, such as interest rates, inflation, and exchange rates. The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) is often used as an indicator of Indonesia's capital market development, providing a general market overview. IHSG movements are significantly influenced by macroeconomic conditions, making it essential to analyze these variables to minimize investment risks. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative type of study. Data were collected from the official websites of the Indonesia Stock Exchange and Bank Indonesia using purposive sampling, with a total of 60 samples. The analysis utilizes time series data and includes tests such as unit root test, optimum lag, stability, Granger causality, cointegration, VECM, IRF, and VD, processed with E-Views 9 software. The results show: 1) A unidirectional causality relationship exists between IHSG and the BI 7-Day Repo Rate; 2) A unidirectional causality relationship exists between IHSG and inflation; 3) A bidirectional relationship exists between the exchange rate and IHSG.

Abstract

The main problem taken in this study is the high level of non-performing financing (NPF), which has a negative impact on profitability (ROA). Bank Jabar Banten Syariah (BJBS) during the period 2010-2023. This study aims to investigate the impact of NPF on ROA and the role of the capital adequacy ratio (CAR) as a moderating variable. The research method uses path analysis from the BJBS annual report that we have as secondary data. The search results prove that NPF has a significant negative impact on ROA with a path coefficient of -0.63 (p <0.001), which indicates that increasing non-performing financing substantially reduces bank profitability. However, CAR is not proven to moderate the relationship between NPF and ROA with a path coefficient of -0.27 (p = 0.12). The conclusion of this study confirms that financing risk management is more crucial than capital adequacy in maintaining BJBS profitability. This study suggests that banks improve the quality of the credit risk mitigation process, improve operational efficiency, and closely monitor non-performing financing. Further research can include other variables such as efficiency or risk management to provide a more comprehensive analysis.

Abstract

Trademarks are used by brand owners based on trademark rights obtained according to each country’s regulations. Trademark rights are not an absolute monopoly and have a time limit. These rights can only be used by the owner or authorized parties. Indonesia applies the first-to-file system to ensure legal certainty for brand owners. However, many businesses are unaware of the importance of trademark registration, leading to frequent violations of both registered and unregistered trademarks. In contrast, the United States follows the use in commerce system, which provides protection even for unregistered trademarks. Trademark infringement cases often arise when a product goes viral, and other businesses use similar branding without authorization, leading to legal disputes and economic losses. Legal awareness regarding Intellectual Property Rights remains low in Indonesia. Trademark registration is crucial for businesses, especially MSMEs, to gain legal protection and exclusive rights under Law No. 20 of 2016 concerning Trademarks. Community Service activities related to legal counseling on MSME product brand ownership in Rattan Tourism Village, Trangsan, Gatak, Sukoharjo, aim to enhance legal knowledge and awareness among MSME business actors.

Abstract

Soybean is a vital source of vegetable protein and used in food and animal feed industries. However, soybean production and land area in Indonesia have been declining due to the influx of cheap imported soybeans, which lowers local prices and discourages farmers from cultivating soybeans. This research aims to identify the factors influencing the motivations and characteristics of soybean farmers in Leuwidamar District, Lebak, Banten. Using a survey method and random sampling, 72 out of 251 farmers were selected. The results show that the farmers are mostly in their productive age, with limited land, low farming experience, small capital, basic education, and many dependents. Key motivating factors include age, farming experience, land tenure, income, availability of agricultural inputs, and extension services. Farmers value hands-on experience over formal education, and both farmers with few and many dependents have similar motivations to cultivate soybeans, driven by government programs, income generation, skill improvement, and external encouragement from relatives, neighbors, and agricultural extension workers.
