Abstract

This study analyzes halal certification as an instrument of consumer protection and socio-economic strengthening for fish processing MSMEs in Sambas Regency. The study applies a descriptive qualitative data on the implementation of halal certificates in MSMEs within the fish processing industry. The data are examined by positioning halal certification as a socio-economic practice related to information certainty, consumer trust, product added value, business literacy, certification costs, and the role of local government. The findings show that halal certification functions not merely as administrative proof of product halalness, but also as a consumer protection mechanism that provides assurance over ingredients, production processes, storage, packaging, distribution, sales, and serving. For MSME actors, halal certification may strengthen market legitimacy, improve competitiveness, and increase the economic value of fish-based products such as amplang crackers, salted fish, dried fish, fish crackers, fish balls, and shrimp paste. However, this strengthening has not been evenly realized because many MSMEs still face limited financial capacity, low procedural understanding, weak human resources, and the belief that traditionally produced products are automatically halal. Local government has contributed through socialization and free halal certificate facilitation, yet more structured, continuous, and community-based assistance is needed for coastal household enterprises.

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce in Indonesia has intensified competition among marketplace platforms in retaining customer loyalty. This study aims to examine the effect of customer experience on customer loyalty, with electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) and customer satisfaction serving as mediating variables among Tokopedia users in Bali. A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method involving 200 active Tokopedia users in Bali. Respondents were selected through purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4 software. The findings reveal that customer experience has a positive and significant effect on e-WOM (β = 0.621; p < 0.001), customer satisfaction (β = 0.640; p < 0.001), and customer loyalty (β = 0.376; p < 0.001). Furthermore, e-WOM (β = 0.314; p < 0.001) and customer satisfaction (β = 0.278; p < 0.001) were found to have positive and significant effects on customer loyalty. The mediation analysis indicates that both e-WOM and customer satisfaction partially mediate the relationship between customer experience and customer loyalty. These findings demonstrate that a positive customer experience not only enhances customer satisfaction and positive online communication but also strengthens customer loyalty toward Tokopedia. Therefore, optimizing customer experience is a crucial strategic approach for marketplace platforms seeking to establish long-term relationships with consumers in an increasingly competitive digital environment.

Abstract

Effective educational planning requires a comprehensive understanding of the evolving needs within the educational environment. In the context of Islamic education, these needs encompass not only academic aspects but also the spiritual, moral, social, and intellectual dimensions of learners. Therefore, need assessment serves as a vital tool for identifying the gap between the current situation and the desired ideal state. This article aims to examine the concept of need assessment in Islamic education, identify the factors causing the emergence of educational needs, and analyse the role of the causal approach in realising effective educational planning. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research. Data were obtained through a documentary study of various books, scientific articles, and relevant literature sources, and were subsequently analysed using content analysis. The results of the study indicate that educational needs in Islamic education are influenced by various internal and external factors, such as learner characteristics, teacher competence, institutional management, the social environment, educational policy, and technological developments. The causal analysis approach has proven capable of helping to identify the root causes of educational needs, thereby ensuring that the programmes designed are more targeted, efficient, and sustainable. Thus, the application of a causal-based need assessment can serve as an effective strategy for enhancing the quality of Islamic educational planning that is adaptable to changing times whilst remaining oriented towards the holistic achievement of Islamic educational objectives.

Abstract

Indeed, women possess the same ability to lead as men. However, culture and religion, including Islam, often seem to provide little space for women to develop their leadership potential. Various arguments have been put forward, cultural, social, and religious, to restrict women’s leadership. Nevertheless, historical facts demonstrate that women have proven capable of becoming competent leaders since the classical Islamic period up to the present day. Quantitatively, the number of Muslim women who hold leadership positions, whether in the executive, legislative, or judicial branches, has become countless. This reality serves as a reversal of the negative stigma against women, which Habermas refers to as an ideology critique. Moreover, Islam itself teaches the values of equality and respect toward women, just as it does toward men. Therefore, a study examining the issue of Muslim women’s leadership through the lens of Habermas’s philosophy is necessary. This research is descriptive-qualitative in nature, with the material object being women’s leadership in Islam and the formal object being Habermas’s philosophy. The study produced two main findings: First, Muslim women have the right to become leaders according to Islamic teachings and the views of Islamic scholars. Second, the reality of women in leadership illustrates that their struggle to claim the right to lead, just as men do, can be understood through Habermas’s concept of ideology critique, namely a critique against the rigid interpretation of Qur’anic verses and hadith. This critique employs cultural, historical, and linguistic approaches, as both the Qur’an and hadith, being the foundational sources of Islamic life, including leadership, carry socio-cultural and historical contexts. Thus, their essential meanings can be understood more fully.

Abstract

Character formation is a fundamental issue in vocational education because vocational students are prepared to enter the workplace, which requires both technical competence and personal integrity. This study aims to describe the role of Guidance and Counseling teachers in internalizing students’ character values, analyze the implementation of a humanistic approach in counseling services, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in character formation at SMKN 1 Glagah Banyuwangi. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving Guidance and Counseling teachers as the main subjects, while students, the principal, the vice principal for student affairs, and productive subject teachers served as significant others. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, theme grouping, and conclusion drawing. Research accuracy was strengthened through method, source, data, and theoretical triangulation. The findings reveal that Guidance and Counseling teachers act as companions, developmental facilitators, motivators, mediators, and collaborators. The services include classroom guidance, information services, individual counseling, group counseling, and coordination with school members and parents. The humanistic approach is reflected in empathy, dialogical communication, unconditional acceptance, and a non-judgmental attitude. Students’ character formation becomes more effective when counseling services are supported by school culture, positive relationships, and continuous collaboration.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the HRM functions carried out, the role of the HR Business Partner (HRBP), and the factors supporting and hindering the implementation of the HRBP role at PT. Telkom Akses Singaraja. This study employs a qualitative research method, specifically a descriptive qualitative approach; data collection was therefore conducted through interviews, observation, documentation and triangulation. Interviews involved key informants and supporting informants, ensuring that the information provided was triangulated prior to analysis. Data analysis in this study utilised the Miles & Huberman (1984) analytical model and drew upon the concept of the four roles of the HRBP, namely Strategic Partner, Administrative Expert, Employee Champion and Change Agent. The research findings indicate that the HRM functions carried out at PT. Telkom Akses Singaraja include organisation, control, recruitment, development, compensation, retention and discipline. The reflection of the HRBP roles is derived from the implementation of HRM functions in the Singaraja area; the Strategic Partner role is reflected through the coordination between head office and the regional office. The role of Administrative Expert is reflected through administrative services provided by the HR department, supported by digital systems; consequently, this role is the most prominent, given the HR department’s focus on administrative tasks in the region. The role of Employee Champion is reflected through the provision of counselling to resolve workplace conflicts, as well as structured training to develop employees’ competencies. The Change Agent role is reflected in the communication of information regarding changes occurring within the company through awareness-raising sessions, sharing sessions or announcements at weekly roll calls, extending to internal groups. Factors supporting the implementation of the HRBP in the Singaraja area include employee responsiveness, structured training programmes, counselling, and coordination between the regional office and head office. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors consist of the vast geographical extent of the operational area, limited HRD personnel, and constraints in the decision-making process. Thus, the implementation of the HRBP at PT. Telkom Akses Singaraja is reflected in human resource management, but still requires strengthening in its strategic role.

Abstract

Career development among university students with disabilities remains a significant concern due to structural barriers, limited access to inclusive career services, and restricted employment opportunities. This study aims to examine the role of career self-efficacy in developing career maturity among university students with disabilities. A quantitative explanatory design was employed involving 76 students with disabilities in Makassar selected through total sampling. Data were collected using the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale–Short Form and the Career Maturity Inventory–Form C, and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings reveal that career self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on career maturity. Students with higher confidence in self-appraisal, occupational information seeking, goal selection, planning, and problem solving demonstrate greater career readiness, with self-appraisal contributing most strongly. Strengthening career self-efficacy and enhancing inclusive institutional support are essential to optimize career development outcomes for students with disabilities.

Abstract

The development of heritage tourism has become an important strategy in promoting alternative tourism that is sustainable, authentic, and experience-based. However, despite possessing significant historical and cultural assets, Denpasar City has not yet been widely recognized as a leading heritage tourism destination in Bali. This study aims to analyze the condition and potential of Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM) activities and to develop an E-WOM strategy model for supporting heritage-based alternative tourism development in Denpasar City. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and digital content analysis conducted at five heritage destinations, namely Bali Museum, Jagatnatha Temple, Badung Market, Puputan Badung Square, and Inna Bali Heritage Hotel. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis, SWOT analysis, and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The findings indicate that E-WOM activities have developed significantly through digital platforms such as Google Reviews, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Nevertheless, these activities remain fragmented and have not successfully established a strong heritage destination image for Denpasar City. The study proposes an E-WOM strategy model consisting of heritage narrative strengthening, digital media optimization, stakeholder collaboration, and integration of heritage destinations into a unified tourism experience. The model is further implemented through a heritage tourism roadmap and heritage tourism package. The study concludes that E-WOM can serve as an effective strategic tool for enhancing destination image, increasing competitiveness, and supporting sustainable heritage tourism development in Denpasar City.

Abstract

This study concludes that digital literacy plays a vital role in countering disinformation in the era of technological advancement and information openness. Based on a comparative analysis of Tafsir at-Ṭabari (classical) and Tafsir al-Miṣbāḥ (contemporary), both interpretations emphasize the importance of tabayyun (information verification), as found in QS. Al-Ḥujurāt [49]: 6. Tafsir at-Ṭabari stresses the necessity of verifying reports from untrustworthy sources to prevent decisions based on falsehoods, while Tafsir al-Miṣbāḥ contextualizes this principle in the digital age by promoting information filtering, source evaluation, and critical awareness. This conclusion is further reinforced by Jean Baudrillard’s theory of hyperreality, in which truth is often replaced by what becomes viral, rather than factual. F. Budi Hardiman adds that today’s digital society is polarized between two extremes: religious radicalism and post-truth relativism both of which exacerbate the spread of disinformation. Hence, ethical and critically informed digital literacy is essential for safeguarding information integrity and fostering a healthy digital environment. The findings are consistent with previous scholarly works. For instance, Panji Ansari and Abdillah (2022) emphasize the relevance of QS. 49:6 in combating hoaxes through tabayyun, source awareness, and media discernment. Similarly, various Islamic communication studies underscore media literacy and verification as collective efforts against misinformation. These similarities reveal a convergence between Islamic scriptural interpretation and contemporary academic perspectives regarding the urgency of digital literacy to uphold social harmony amid rampant falsehood. Nonetheless, this thesis offers a broader and more interdisciplinary approach than earlier works. Rocky Romansyah (2022), for example, focuses solely on contemporary exegesis without incorporating philosophical frameworks. Muhammad Thaef Ashshiddiqi (2019) adopts a normative-descriptive method without comparing classical and modern tafsir. Likewise, Dwi Putri Aulia’s (2018) study is limited to anti-hoax activism without engaging tafsir or theoretical analysis. This thesis therefore presents a distinct contribution by integrating Qur’anic values with philosophical thought. The methodology employed is qualitative-descriptive using a library research approach with comparative analysis. Primary sources include Tafsir Jāmi‘ al-Bayān by al-Ṭabari and Tafsir al-Miṣbāḥ by Quraish Shihab. Secondary sources involve literature on digital literacy, disinformation, and the works of Jean Baudrillard and F. Budi Hardiman. Analysis was conducted through interpretation of tafsir texts, thematic comparison between classical and modern perspectives, and theoretical integration to formulate an ethical-literary framework for addressing digital disinformation effectively.

Abstract

The revolution in communication and information technology has ushered in a new era in media, also known as ‘new media’, where its presence is inextricably linked to computer-mediated and internet-based communication devices. One such new media technology is the emergence of the social media platform Instagram. Recently, Instagram has expanded its features to make the platform more comprehensive and enjoyable for its users. This trend has transformed social media into a new space for interaction and communication, attracting individuals and even communities to engage within it. One such community on Instagram is the Hijabografi community. This is a community that utilises graphic design as a medium to convey its message. In their Instagram posts, the Hijabografi community consistently features images of Muslim women wearing the hijab. The Hijabografi community has a specific aim in presenting this imagery. Ideas and concepts regarding Muslim women can be found in their Instagram posts. Indirectly, the Hijabografi account constructs an image of Muslim women in the digital space, where values concerning Muslim women are displayed. This study aims to uncover the signs within the posted images and to understand how Muslim women are represented on the Hijabografi Instagram account. The use of language in the form of images, words, sequences, narratives and so on, in Hijabografi’s Instagram posts, represents its perspective on Muslim women. To uncover the representation of Muslim women, Roland Barthes’s semiotics was employed; in his theory, Barthes examines meaning or symbols in language or signs, which are divided into two levels of significance—the denotative and connotative levels—as well as other aspects of signification, namely myth. From the seventeen hijab-wearing Instagram posts analysed, it was revealed that Muslim women possess piety, equality, freedom, strength, intelligence and independence, and these posts demonstrate three representations of Muslim women: firstly, the hijab as a symbol of Muslim women’s religious faith; secondly, the equality of Muslim women and Muslim men; and thirdly, the relationship between the roles of Muslim women and men. Overall, the conclusion regarding the representation of Muslim women on hijab-wearing Instagram accounts is that Muslim women are pious, noble, intelligent and active.
