Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a corporate communication instrument that can be used to develop stakeholder relationships and support corporate reputation building. In the insurance industry, educational communication is particularly important because the public requires adequate information regarding financial management and risk protection. This study aims to analyze the CSR communication strategy of PT BNI Life Insurance through financial literacy and community empowerment programs from a business communication perspective. The study employs a qualitative approach using a case study based on document analysis. Data were obtained from PT BNI Life Insurance's 2025 Sustainability Report, 2025 Annual Report, official corporate publications, and other relevant supporting documents. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the company's CSR communication strategy is implemented through educational communication, stakeholder collaboration, financial literacy and insurance education programs, and the use of digital communication channels. The strategy reflects a communication orientation that is not merely transactional but also relational by positioning public information needs as part of relationship building. From a business communication perspective, these practices have characteristics that support credibility, trust, and social legitimacy as important elements of corporate reputation building. The study concludes that CSR can be positioned as part of corporate communication strategy that integrates business interests with social needs through educational, collaborative, and sustainable communication.

Abstract

This study examines how interpersonal communication patterns among couples in long-distance intercity relationships play a role in managing uncertainty and maintaining relationship quality. The phenomenon of long-distance relationships has increasingly emerged, particularly among young adults, due to high mobility and limited opportunities for face-to-face meetings, making digital communication the primary medium of interaction. This study aims to analyze the forms of uncertainty and the communication strategies used by couples to reduce uncertainty based on Uncertainty Reduction Theory, which includes behavioral uncertainty, cognitive uncertainty, and relational uncertainty. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving couples aged 19–25 years in Bali Province who were engaged in intercity long-distance relationships. Data analysis was conducted interactively following the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that the three forms of uncertainty emerged simultaneously and were interconnected, influenced by communication intensity, openness, and consistency of interaction. Couples utilized various digital media platforms to maintain adaptive and open communication. These communication patterns contributed to reducing uncertainty, building trust, and strengthening commitment despite the limitations of physical meetings and geographical distance. The study also highlights the importance of interpersonal communication as a primary mechanism for creating emotional security and maintaining the stability of intercity long-distance relationships. These findings have implications for the development of effective communication strategies to support the sustainability of intercity long-distance relationships in the digital era.

Abstract

Opaque model decisions remain a practical barrier to the use of machine learning in heart disease screening. This study presents HeartXplain, a web-based AI Health Agent designed as a Clinical Decision Support System for early screening. The system combines XGBoost, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), SHAP, LIME, and interpretative narratives generated by a Large Language Model (LLM). The model was trained on 69,105 records represented by 19 clinical and engineered features. PSO optimized a recall-oriented objective, followed by decision-threshold adjustment. At a threshold of 0.4997, the model achieved 71.01% accuracy, 80.08% recall, 67.39% precision, a 73.19% F1-score, 79.29% AUC-ROC, and 78.05% PR-AUC; false negatives decreased from 1,367 to 1,360. SHAP and LIME exposed global and patient-level feature contributions, while the LLM translated those outputs into a more readable narrative. MAPIE reached 95.01% empirical coverage and 83.02% accuracy on singleton sets. Fairlearn indicated minor sex-based differences but wider gaps across age groups. HeartXplain therefore provides a transparent supporting layer for early screening, not a substitute for clinical examination, diagnosis, or professional judgment. External validation on real clinical data remains necessary.

Abstract

The fast-growing trend of the buy now, pay later (BNPL) service may cause uncontrolled consumerism among youngsters due to the accessibility of the digital credit. This research seeks to analyze the influence of lifestyle on consumptive behavior where self-control is the mediating variable among the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Udayana University, who utilize Shopee PayLater service. The research was performed among the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Udayana University where 120 students were selected through the purposive sampling technique. The data were gathered through the questionnaire survey and analyzed using the path analysis. The results indicate that all relationships among the variables are statistically significant, with a significance value (Sig.) of 0.000 (< 0.05), meaning that all hypotheses are supported. Specifically, lifestyle has a positive effect on consumptive behaviour, with a beta coefficient of 1.02. Conversely, lifestyle has a negative effect on self-control, with a beta coefficient of -0.74. Furthermore, self-control has a negative effect on consumptive behaviour, with a beta coefficient of -1.20. It has been proved through the mediation analysis that self-control is a significant mediator having an indirect effect equal to 0.89. The coefficient of determination (R Square) value of the self-control variable is 0.776, while the R Square value of consumptive behavior is 0.892. It can be said on the basis of the above findings that both the factors of lifestyle and self-control together account for 89.2% of variance in the consumptive behavior of students, while the remaining 10.8% of the variance is accounted for by other factors.

Abstract

International trade is one of the key instruments in promoting a country's economic growth through export and import activities. As one of the world's largest nickel producers, Indonesia plays a strategic role in the international trade of nickel ore, particularly in the major Asian markets. This study aims to analyze the effects of international prices, exchange rates, inflation, and production on Indonesia's nickel ore exports to the major Asian markets, namely China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, during the period of 2013–2022.This study employs secondary data using a balanced panel data approach consisting of five export destination countries (cross-sections) and ten years of observation (time series), resulting in a total of 50 observations. The data were analyzed using panel data regression analysis with the assistance of EViews software. The results indicate that: (1) international prices have a positive and significant effect on Indonesia's nickel ore exports to the major Asian markets during the 2013–2022 period; (2) inflation has a negative and significant effect on Indonesia's nickel ore exports to the major Asian markets during the 2013–2022 period; (3) exchange rates and production have no significant effect on Indonesia's nickel ore exports to the major Asian markets during the 2013–2022 period; and (4) simultaneously, international prices, exchange rates, inflation, and production have a significant effect on Indonesia's nickel ore exports to the major Asian markets during the 2013–2022 period.

Abstract

As a transnational crime, human trafficking continues to endanger migrant workers across Southeast Asia. Indonesia, Thailand, and Myanmar function simultaneously as origin and destination states, leaving them exposed to exploitation and violations of basic human rights. This article compares the legal-protection frameworks the three states have put in place to prevent and respond to trafficking crimes against migrant workers. A normative-comparative legal method is applied, combining statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches. Materials were gathered from national legislation, international conventions, and reports issued by governmental and international bodies. The analysis shows that Indonesia's legal framework is the most comprehensive, anchored by Law No. 21 of 2007 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Trafficking in Persons and Law No. 18 of 2017 on the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers. Thailand, by contrast, relies more heavily on law-enforcement mechanisms and bilateral partnerships, while Myanmar continues to struggle with regulatory implementation and enforcement capacity. Overall, Indonesia's protection system is normatively the strongest of the three, though its real-world effectiveness still hinges on coordination among agencies and cross-border cooperation across ASEAN.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of exchange rates, money supply, and inflation on Islamic banking financing across five provinces in Sumatra — Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, and South Sumatra — over the period January 2021 to December 2025. Using a quantitative, causal-associative design and balanced panel data, the research employs multiple linear regression with the Fixed Effects Model in EViews 12, utilizing t-tests for partial effects and F-tests for simultaneous effects. The results show that, individually, all three variables — exchange rate (t = 2.404; p = 0.001), money supply (t = 5.938; p = 0.000), and inflation (t = 2.131; p = 0.005) — have a positive and significant impact on total financing. For Murabahah financing, only money supply is significant (t = 5.106; p = 0.000), while exchange rate and inflation are not. Similarly, for Mudharabah financing, only money supply shows a significant positive effect (t = 5.248; p = 0.000), with exchange rate and inflation statistically insignificant. Simultaneously, the three variables jointly influence all three financing measures (p < 0.001). The findings indicate that systemic liquidity, measured by money supply, is the primary macroeconomic driver of Islamic financing in Sumatra, while exchange rate and inflation play secondary, aggregate-level roles. Maintaining ample liquidity alongside stable prices and exchange rates remains key to supporting sustainable Islamic financing growth in the region.

Abstract

Final Project Report entitled “Analysis of the Compliance of Business Licences with the Spatial Plan in Central Bangka Regency”. This report is based on the premise that business licences which do not comply with the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) can lead to conflicts over land use and hinder regional spatial planning control. The process of assessing the compliance of land use in business licences in Bangka Tengah Regency has so far been carried out manually, which is time-consuming and prone to inaccuracies in spatial analysis. The aim of this final-year project is to develop a digital geographic information system capable of visualising the locations of business permits and monitoring their compliance with the spatial plan, in order to streamline the work of the spatial use compliance approval unit. This report utilises spatial analysis using the overlay method, which involves superimposing maps of business permit locations onto spatial planning maps using ArcMap to produce a classification of spatial compliance levels. The results of this processing are then visualised on the ArcGIS Dashboard, which displays interactive maps, graphs and statistical indicators of spatial compliance. System design was carried out through general system analysis and design, including data flow diagrams and input and output designs. The research methods comprised field studies—namely observation and case studies—as well as a review of the literature relevant to the research problem. The research results indicate that the developed system facilitates the retrieval of spatial compliance information and accelerates decision-making regarding land use control in a more effective and efficient manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Board of Commissioners and leverage on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure among manufacturing companies in the processed food subsector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2025 period. This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design and uses secondary data obtained from companies’ annual reports and financial statements. After outlier treatment, the final sample consisted of 20 companies, yielding a total of 100 observations. CSR disclosure was measured using the Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure Index (CSRDI) based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI Standards), while leverage was proxied by the Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR). The data were analyzed using panel data regression with the Random Effect Model (REM). The results indicate that the Board of Commissioners has no significant effect on CSR disclosure, whereas leverage has a positive and significant effect on CSR disclosure. Simultaneously, the Board of Commissioners and leverage have a significant effect on CSR disclosure. These findings indicate that companies’ reliance on external financing is associated with greater transparency in disclosing social and environmental information to stakeholders. This study confirms that CSR disclosure is a complex phenomenon influenced not only by corporate governance mechanisms but also by financial characteristics and other company-specific factors.

Abstract

This study examines the existence of Islamic law, the forms and mechanisms of its influence on the formation of Indonesian national law, and its position within the Pancasila-based rule of law and Indonesian legal pluralism. This normative legal research employs statutory, conceptual, historical, and legal-political approaches. Legal materials are qualitatively analyzed through legal interpretation, systematization, conceptual comparison, and legal argumentation. The findings demonstrate that Islamic law has a multilayered existence as a religious norm, living law, a material source of law, and, after undergoing legally recognized processes, part of positive national law. Its application in family law, Religious Courts, waqf, zakat, Islamic economics, halal product assurance, and Aceh's special autonomy reveals a selective, multi-path, multi-actor, multilevel, adaptive, and cyclical transformation. This study develops a Selective Transformation Model of Islamic Law, encompassing substantive, normative-formal, institutional, administrative-regulatory, adjudicative-constitutional, and territorial transformations through substantive, procedural, and constitutional legitimacy. Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution function as the constitutional integrative framework governing such transformation within Indonesia's plural legal system.
