Abstract

This research began with the author's anxiety regarding the low level of instillation and understanding of moral values ​​among students. This low understanding is demonstrated by students' treatment which is contrary to general morals and Christian morals in particular. Good moral understanding will certainly lead humans to respect the dignity of others. Therefore, through this study, the author voices the message conveyed by Pope Francis in the Dignitas Infinita document. This research was conducted among active students in the Catholic Religious Education study program, Pontianak State Catholic Religious College for the 2024/2024 Academic Year. The population of this research was 917 students and the sample of this research was 123 students. The method used in the research is a qualitative method, while the technique used to explore data is using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in the research is descriptive data analysis, meaning that the author explains the research data by linking the theory discussed in this research. The presentation of numbers and graphs is followed by the author's explanation and analysis to explain the research results in numerical form. The results of the research prove that students' understanding is still very low in terms of moral understanding, both general morals and Christian morals. So the author also suggests that future researchers conduct broader research on moral education implemented in Catholic families.

Abstract

Games online usually be used by brothers as an entertainment media. But, excessive use of games online Will have impact on decreasing of social relation which was built by the brothers. This research want to analyze the impact of game online to social relation for the brothers in Major Seminary Interdiocese of Saint Peter Ritapiret. This research also used qualitative method. Data collection techniques used by this research is interviews with key informants. This research, found that excessive use of games online can make negative impact on relation who be built by the brothers. Among them are, alienation in togetherness, the death of empathy, and false act of participation. Besides that, implicitly, game online also have impact to the increase of phubbing phenomenon. To this problems, pastoral counseling was an effective solution offered as a basis for reflection and action to make the brothers aware of the dangers of games online. Pastoral counseling have functions in healing efforts, sustaining, guiding, and reconciling to the brothers influenced by games online.

Abstract

This research explores the adaptation and formation of liturgy in the celebration of the Eucharist with children in the Parish of Nita, with the aim of understanding how liturgy can be an effective means of faith education in shaping religious, liturgical and social values that are important for the development of their Christian character. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data was collected through interviews, direct observation and literature review. The findings show that celebrating the Eucharist with children requires various contextual adaptations, such as easily understood gestures, relevant visual symbols, selection of age-appropriate liturgical music, and active participation of children through liturgical roles. These adaptations are designed to enhance children's participation without compromising the essence of the sacredness of the Eucharist. In addition, the role of adults as companions, including parents, priests and catechists, is crucial in guiding children to understand the deeper meaning of each part of the liturgy, training them to create a conducive atmosphere for the celebration and, most importantly, providing a living example of faith. The research also confirmed that ongoing liturgical formation is an integral part of children's faith formation, which is understood as an evolving process that requires serious attention from the Church. This formation aims to enable children to understand and live the Eucharist as the mystery of Christ's sacrifice for human salvation. The results of this study provide a solid basis for the future development of liturgical adaptation and formation that encourages the active participation of children, strengthens their faith and guides them towards a more meaningful Christian life.

Abstract

Inter-religious harmony is an essential foundation in maintaining social harmony in a pluralistic society, such as Indonesia. During the Jokowi presidency, there has been a significant increase in the interfaith harmony index, reflecting the growing awareness of pluralism and tolerance. Maria Di Angkat Ke Surga (MDKS) parish, located in Malang, actively contributes to creating harmony through various dialogue programs and social activities. This research aims to explore the implementation of the principles of the Synodal Church in the MDKS Parish in its efforts to enhance interfaith harmony. The research method applied is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interview, and experience, involving key informants from the MDKS Parish priest. The results show that synodality or “Walking Together” is expressed in the celebration of the Eucharist and services to the people, as well as active participation in the Interfaith Harmony Forum (FKAUB). MDKS Parish also prioritizes the role of young people as key actors in building interfaith togetherness. In conclusion, MDKS Parish continues to implement the principles of synodality by building a comprehensive and inclusive community, so that it can be an example in creating authentic togetherness, respecting diversity and differences.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discover how the religious of Z-generation live the vow of obedience; what are the particular challenges and difficulties they experience, especially facing the challenges of that digital technological world. The Era of Generation Z is characterized by people's dependence on digital technology and the internet. The results of these technological advances have had an impact on many aspects of life both visible and related to the inner world. Inevitably religious who profess the three vows also receive its influence. The conveniences offered by technology and the temptations associated with human freedom pose a challenge to a life of vowed obedience, especially for the younger generation of religious. Using Qualitative Research Method of case study type, the researcher examines the problematics of obedience in the MSC Scholasticate Community. The results of this study provide a descriptive picture of the characteristics of living the vow of obedience among Z-generation religious and suggestions for better education of the vow of obedience.

Abstract

This research applies a quantitative approach by applying one group pretest-posttest. To collect samples, researcher used a saturated sampling technique. Then, 50 people were selected as the sample. Learning outcome tests are used to collect research data. Later, data were deeply examined using the normality test, hypothesis testing, followed by simpel linear regression test. The study findings indicate that the average pretest score is 72.73 and the posttest score is 88.75, as evidenced by the pretest and post learning outcomes data. The average value indicates a notable variance in values pre and post treatment. This indicates that Ha has been approved. This indicates that the pretest and posttest scores differ, revealing that differentiated learning strategies have increased learning achievements of Catholic religious education in class X SMK Sanjaya Pakem. Furthermore, according to a basic linear regression analysis, it was determined that personalized instruction had a significant impact of 72.4%. The researcher recommended that Catholic religious education teachers utilize differentiated learning strategies to enhance student learning results in Catholic religious subjects.

Abstract

This research aims to thoroughly examine the role of pastoral catechesis in building faith and character in the modern era. The modern era is characterized by rapid and significant social, cultural, and technological changes. These changes present new challenges to individual faith and character, such as widespread secularism, the strong influence of social media, and the emergence of various ideologies that contradict moral values. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. Data collection was carried out through analysis of literature relevant to the research topic. The literature analyzed includes theology books, scientific articles, Catholic Church documents, and research findings related to religious education and character building. Important findings from this research show that pastoral catechesis plays a crucial role in building individual faith and character in the face of contemporary challenges. Through a systematic process of learning and deepening faith, pastoral catechesis helps individuals to understand the teachings of the Church in depth, develop strong moral values, and build a close relationship with God. Moreover, pastoral catechesis also plays a role in equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to face various challenges in everyday life. This includes the ability to navigate the digital world wisely, analyze information critically, distinguish between right and wrong values, and build healthy relationships with others. Effective and sustainable implementation of pastoral catechesis is key to strengthening the foundation of faith and strong character in today's modern society. This is important for building a community that is faithful, moral, and responsible in facing the challenges of the times, as well as for shaping future generations who are able to be the salt and light of the world.

Abstract

Pastoral care provided by the parish to the elderly is one form of the Church's concern for its people who have entered old age. Pastoral care is carried out with a homecare approach and active listening methods, as a means to support their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.However, what the parish has done has not been maximized and effective because it does not yet have competent personnel in the field of homecare. The purpose of this study is toTo find out to what extent the parish implements homecare-based elderly pastoral care and active listening methods, both in terms of supporting factors and inhibiting factors as a form of Church service at the Maria Ratu Damai Parish, Donomulyo.The methodology used in this study is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observations and documentation. The analysis of data collection used in this study is data processing developed by Colaizzi and Carpenter with the NVIVO software application. The results of the study identified homecare-based elderly pastoral and active listening methods that help pastoral officers to perform optimally and effectively. The supporting factor is the commitment of pastoral officers and medical personnel in implementing homecare with full responsibility. In addition to the factorssupporting factors, there are also inhibiting factors such as limited resources, both manpower and funds. This study shows that the homecare-based pastoral approach and the active listening method are modelsan effective service model that pays attention to the holistic aspects of elderly welfare, involving social, emotional and spiritual aspects in church services in the Parish. Abstract

The role of catechists in the Catholic Church is very important in helping people understand and live Christian teachings through pastoral presence, namely a real presence that builds faith, hope, and love among the people. Catechists are not only teachers, but also spiritual companions who support the daily lives of the people. This study aims to explore the role of catechists in building Christian virtue values ​​while identifying the challenges and opportunities they face in implementing pastoral presence. Through a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, the researcher attempted to analyze literature sources such as books, scientific articles, Church documents and related academic literature. The results of the study show that catechists play an important role in strengthening the faith of the people through teaching, spiritual accompaniment, and strengthening sacramental life, as well as being bearers of hope amidst the various challenges of people's lives. In addition, through pastoral presence, they motivate people to realize love in real actions, such as social service and community solidarity. However, this study also revealed a number of challenges, such as limited training, a shortage of catechists in remote areas, and the influence of modernity that encourages secularization and individualism. The findings show the need for innovation in the pastoral approach, by being present among the people to answer the increasingly diverse needs of the people. This study concludes that the pastoral presence of catechists is a real manifestation of the Church's shepherding and the embodiment of Christ's love among the people. These findings are expected to provide insight into the development of catechist formation programs and more effective pastoral service strategies so that the Church remains relevant in facing changing times and modern challenges, while strengthening the values ​​of Christian virtue among Catholics.

Abstract

Education within the Catholic Church has always had its distinct characteristics. The unique characteristics of Catholic schools are implemented at SMAK Santa Maria Malang. In addition to the school, parents also play a role in shaping the character of students. However, not all students at SMAK Santa Maria Malang exhibit good character, especially in terms of respect and responsibility. This study aims to determine the influence of Dharmaputri spirituality and parental support on the character formation of students at SMAK Santa Maria Malang. To achieve the research objectives, multiple linear regression analysis was used with the help of SPSS for Windows 26. The population in this study consisted of 403 students, with a sample size of 200 students. The sampling technique employed was random sampling. The findings revealed a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.905, indicating a positive correlation between the two variables with a very strong relationship. Furthermore, the Dharmaputri Spirituality variable obtained a t-value (0.000<0.05), and the Parental Support variable also obtained a t-value (0.000<0.05), meaning that both variables independently have a significant influence on character formation. Based on the SPSS output table, the significant F-value was obtained (0.000<0.05), indicating that there is an influence between Dharmaputri Spirituality and Parental Support on Character Formation simultaneously. Thus, Dharmaputri spirituality and parental support together have an impact on the character formation variable.
