Abstract

This paper aims to describe the form of internalization of Catholic character in Catholic High School as an effort for community literacy. The study used the qualitative method. Data were analyzed by collecting, reducing, display and drawing conclusions or verification. Data processing is assisted by Atlas.ti software version 9.0.15. The result show that the obstacles to internalize Catholic characters are inconducive environmental, lack of teachers modeling, low learning motivation of student, and negative impact of digital technology. The form of internalizing Catholic character in the High School context must be inspired by “Communio” paradigm of the Catholic church. The basic spirit of Communio is Bible reflection by reading and member’s sharing experience to each other. There are forth efforts to internalize Catholic character. The first, environmental design with Catholic Spiritual nuances. Second, the formation of small spiritual groups such as Bible sharing groups, catechesis, devotions, Bible reading and quizzes competitions, and pilgrimages to the Catholic Spiritual sites. Third, integration of Information Technology-based spiritual development such as used of e-Catholic applications, Bible catechism vlogs, catholicity website, and other prophetic software. Fourth, character Catholic internalization based on dormitory system. This method is chosen to compose the sustainable, integrative, collaborative, and systematic of Catholic character internalization. However, this research, is still limited to the High School context, so it has not examined other level of formal school context. In addition, this research is still limited to formal school managed by Catholic foundations and headed by Catholic priest, clergy and religious sisters.

Abstract

The church has a missionary nature. Missionary work is carried out in various ways and its applications. There are many problems that occur, the Church as a missionary is present and participates in solving all the problems that occur. The local church of the Palangka Raya diocese is one of the fields of mission work in spreading the Bible among a pluralistic society. The mission of developing the life of the Catholic faith in Palangka Raya diocese has a long struggle and process. Various methods were used by the missionaries so that salvation did not only occur in certain communities but also among the people living in Central Kalimantan. The establishment of a Pastoral school in the Palangka Raya diocese is one of the efforts to meet the needs of the people and the Church takes part in meeting these needs. This research methodology uses the Research library method. In this study, researchers collected sources from several data documentation from the profile of the Palangka Raya Diocese. Then it is analyzed with Stephen Bevans' mission theology about church missionaries. Based on the analysis, the researcher found that the local Church of the Palangka Raya Diocese was active and participatory in missionary work by missionaries and catechists as a form of faith development.

Abstract

This research was prompted by concerns regarding the superficial nature of academic supervision conducted by principals, which in turn affected the quality of teachers' instructional performance. Consequently, the objective of this study was to examine the process of implementing academic supervision by school principals and assess the extent to which more effective supervision could enhance the performance of Catholic Religious Education teachers. The qualitative approach was employed as the research methodology. The findings indicate that the implementation of robust academic supervision by school principals can lead to improvements in teacher performance, particularly in the areas of lesson planning, instructional delivery, and assessment. Moreover, the study uncovered aspects that were not captured by the predefined assessment instruments used during supervision observations. In these instances, the principal guided teachers in identifying their own areas of improvement and provided support to address these shortcomings. Additionally, the study revealed that effective teacher performance was characterized by the promotion of critical and creative thinking among students, thus enhancing the overall quality of classroom instruction. In conclusion, the study highlights the positive impact of academic supervision conducted by principals on teachers. Through this process, teachers are encouraged to enhance their preparation and performance, resulting in notable improvements.

Abstract

The purpose of this research focuses on the contribution and driving factors of Catholic Religious Education Teachers who are Civil Servants (PNS) in the Parish of St. Joseph Delitua. This study employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Catholic Religious Education Teachers have a special role in imparting the values of the Kingdom of God to students in schools and are considered as messengers of God and apostles of Christ who introduce God's love to the world. They also contribute to the mission and service of the Church. This research aims to delve deeper into the contribution and motivating factors for Catholic Religious Education Teachers who are PNS in the Parish of St. Joseph Delitua to participate in church life. The contributions of Catholic Religious Education Teachers include dual roles as preachers and teachers, pastoral workers, and religious community builders. This study is expected to provide a better understanding of the contribution and motivation of PNS Catholic Religious Education Teachers in their church involvement in the Parish of St. Joseph Delitua. Furthermore, this abstract also outlines the theoretical framework which includes the five pillars of church ministry: Liturgy, Kerygma, Diakonia, Koinonia, and Martyria, as well as the role of Catholic Religious Education Teachers in fulfilling their duties as educators and preachers. Catholic Religious Education Teachers have the responsibility to educate, guide, and proclaim the Word of God to students so that they can follow the teachings of Jesus. This research utilizes a qualitative method with snowball sampling technique for sample selection. The research data consists of primary and secondary data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this research will discuss the contribution of PNS Catholic Religious Education Teachers based on the five pillars of the church in the Parish of St. Joseph Delitua

Abstract

Gereja tanpa anak-anak akan kehilangan masa depan. Begitu juga, tanpa orang muda Gereja akan kehilangan sukacita dan arah. Terkhusus untuk orang muda jiwa yang masih sangat berkobar-kobar dan penuh semangat. Kaum muda yang merindukan dan membutuhkan pendampingan dalam pengambilan keputusan. Pendampingan yang baik memberikan kebebasan tanpa mengikat dan sesuai dengan gaya orang muda. Bukan tugas yang mudah untuk membimbing kaum muda. Christus Vivit adalah salah satu dokumen yang diperuntukkan bagi orang muda dengan keadaan dan situasi yang sudah dipikirkan secara matang. Christus Vivit adalah model yang sangat baik untuk membimbing kaum muda. Kajian ini berangkat dari observasi yang dilakukan penulis di paroki asalnya. Penulis menemukan bahwa kaum muda tidak mengetahui jenis bantuan yang dapat mereka terima atau bagaimana bantuan itu digunakan. Sesuai dengan Anjuran Apostolik Christus Vivit, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pendampingan iman bagi kaum muda Katolik dan menumbuhkan semangat di kalangan kaum muda di setiap tahapan, khususnya untuk Gereja. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah kualitatif dengan 10 responden: 1 Moderator OMK, 1 Pembina OMK DAN 8 OMK. Penulis melakukan wawancara dengan mengajukan sebelas pertanyaan untuk seluruh informan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh ialah pendampingan sudah sedari awal dijalankan pendamping (Moderator OMK) bagi OMK. Namun, OMK belum memahami elemen Christus Vivit yang sudah terkandung dalam pendampingan mereka.

Abstract

Karakter disiplin peserta didik menjadi problem khusus di kelasX IPS SMA St. Antonius Bangun Mulia terutama kehadiran yangtidak tepat waktu, etika berpakaian, tidak disiplin dalammengerjakan dan mengumpulkan tugas dan sebagainya.Peneliti melakukan riset memiliki tujuan mengkaji mengenaiperan guru mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Katolik dalammeningkatkan karakter disiplin bagi peserta didik kelas X-IPS diSMA St. Antonius Bangun Mulia. Metode yang dipakai dalamriset ini adalah kualitatif. Metode ini dipilih peneliti lebih mudahmemahami dan mendalami suatu masalah secara mendalamserta dapat menjelaskan secara detail suatu masalah yangterjadi, mulai dari mengidentifikasi masalah hingga menjelaskansolusinya. Proses pengumpulan data terdiri dari 3 tahap yaitupengamatan langsung oleh peneliti, wawancara mendalam dandokumentasi. Sasaran dari riset ini antara lain 1 guruPendidikan Agama Katolik, 1 guru sebaya, dan 6 siswa kelas XIPS.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pertama, gurupendidikan agama Katolik telah menjalankan perannya sebagaipendidik dan pewarta melalui pembelajaran agama Katolik dikelas, berperan sebagai petugas pastoral dengan memberikanpelayanan, pendampingan, dan pendampingan kepada pesertadidik baik di dalam ataupun di luar pembelajaran agama Katolik,dimulai dengan absensi, disiplin berpakaian, danmengumpulkan waktu penugasan secara teratur. Guru matapelajaran pendidikan agama Katolik juga berperan sebagai pembimbing bagi siswa. Kedua, hasil penelitian yang diperolehmenunjukkan bahwa peserta didik mengalami peningkatankarakter disiplin, karena kehadiran guru yang konsisten dalampembelajaran, khususnya dalam meningkatkan karakterdisiplin. Kepedulian dan semangat guru menjadi prioritas utamadan memiliki peran penting di kelas maupun di sekolah. Siswamudah diarahkan jika guru ada di kelas, tetapi jika guru tidakhadir di kelas, maka situasi kelas dapat menjadi tidak tertib danakan menimbulkan kegaduhan bagi kelas lainnya.

Abstract

The research addresses the lack of active involvement of prospective catechists in spiritual activities and their lack of awareness of their primary duties. The study aims to encourage formal educational institutions to focus on educating and preparing students to become professional catechists and to increase awareness of their main tasks from an early age. The author utilized qualitative methods, including a descriptive and evaluative model, and conducted open interviews with community leaders and students at Sekolah Tinggi Pastoral Keuskupan Agung Kupang (STIPAS Keuskupan Agung Kupang). The findings revealed the inactivity and ignorance of prospective catechists about their duties. The research suggests the need for educational institutions to provide assignments and practical experience in a sustainable environment and to improve coordination between these institutions and the Church or parish.

Abstract

The creativity of church administrators in homily in Stasi Santo Bonaventura Situnggaling Paroki Santo Fransiskus Asisi Saribudolog became the orientation or concern in this research because the Medan Archdiocese Church tried to educate the laity through pastoral functionaries taking an active part, especially in leading the celebration of the word on Sundays without faith and giving homilies. This approach uses three techniques, including interviews with informants directly with listening techniques, data collection through observation, and supporting documents as part of the documentation. The stages of data analysis began with data reduction, displaying data, and testing the truth of the data by triangulating techniques and sources. Efforts made with this approach found two essential aspects of the creativity of Church administrators in domicile, which are used as findings: (1) Church administrators have creativity in presenting homilies, especially the use of props, although not yet optimal, body language: facial expressions, body gestures, voice intonation and dialogue contact with the congregation. (2) Homilies bear fruit for the faithful in this parish, such as churchgoers who experience a deep understanding of the meaning of the word of God for life, experience the presence of God in life now, and change life in true repentance. People feel prosperity in life. However, many people in this Stasi still have not been able to make homilies good fruitsin their daily lives.

Abstract

The utilization of retreats for emotional healing is a form of catechesis that can aid in the spiritual development of Christians. Traditional catechesis methods, such as lectures and deepening of faith, have not yielded the desired outcomes in the Semarang Archdiocese region. These methods primarily focus on cognitive and kerygmatic aspects, neglecting to effectively address emotional and behavioral achievements in Diakonia, koinonia, and inter-faith dialogue. This research aims to develop a model of catechesis utilizing the retreat method for emotional healing and to identify the factors contributing to its success or failure. The Research and Development method is utilized in this study, with the analysis of 100 subjects. The findings suggest that in order to optimize the implementation of Christian values, there must be improvements in both the internal quality (such as closeness to God, willingness to participate in retreats for emotional healing, deepening of theological knowledge, emotional intelligence, effective communication skills, and self-control) and external quality (the closeness of the retreat participant's relationship with God and the readiness of the student to learn) of catechists.

Abstract

The resurrection of Jesus holds significant importance for Christians, as it represents his triumph over sin, death, and darkness, offering the promise of eternal life to believers. This event is central to the Christian faith, symbolizing the transformative power it holds. While the Church is tasked with carrying out its five pillars, many struggle to grasp and apply these responsibilities in the modern world. This article delves into the meaning of Jesus' resurrection, as described in Luke 24:1-49, and its relevance for the Church today. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a literature study, the findings reveal that Jesus' resurrection is characterized by an empty tomb and his repeated appearances to the disciples. The resurrection signifies the Church's mission to proclaim this event, transcend spiritual existence into eternity, and demand faithfulness in God. The implications of Jesus' resurrection for the Church today can be fulfilled through the five tasks of the Church: communion or koinonia, ministry or diakonia, preaching or kerygma, sanctification or liturgia, and witness or martyria. Demonstrating faithfulness in these duties serves as a testament to the proclamation of Jesus' resurrection.
