Abstract

Financial literacy and digital financial inclusion play an important role in SME performance, with financial resilience as a moderating variable. This study aims to evaluate the effect of financial literacy and financial inclusion on entrepreneurial performance. Using a quantitative approach, primary data were collected from 203 SME owners in Sidoarjo and Surabaya through questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that financial literacy has a significant positive impact on digital financial inclusion. Furthermore, digital financial inclusion is proven to significantly influence the improvement of SME entrepreneurial performance. Interestingly, although financial resilience was initially hypothesized to strengthen the relationship between digital financial inclusion and SME performance, the results of the path test showed that its role as a moderating variable was not statistically significant on entrepreneurial performance. This finding emphasizes the importance of efforts to improve financial literacy and expand access to digital financial services in supporting sustainable SME business growth and performance. However, this study also highlights the urgency to continue strengthening SME financial resilience so that they are better able to face various economic challenges and achieve long-term stability The practical implications of this research are recommendations to help SMEs face economic challenges and achieve sustainable growth.

Abstract

Halal tourism has grown rapidly in the last decade, along with the increasing interest of global Muslim tourists. This research aims to analyze metadata from halal tourism literature to identify trends, patterns, and academic contributions in this field. Using data from the Scopus database from 2015 to 2025, this research evaluates document distribution based on time, publication type, institutional affiliation, country, and subject area. The findings show that journal articles dominate publications (70.7 percent), with Business, Management, and Accounting as the main contributor (29.7 percent). Indonesia and Malaysia emerge as the countries with the largest contributions, reflecting the strategic role of the Southeast Asian region in halal tourism research and development. Theoretically, this research highlights the potential of metadata in integrating tourist preferences, market trends, and destination needs to address challenges such as variations in halal standards, lack of infrastructure, and low public awareness. Practically, these findings offer strategic guidance for governments, industry, and academics to utilize metadata in halal certification, marketing strategies, and digital technology development. The conclusion of this research emphasizes the importance of multidisciplinary approaches and cross-sector collaboration to enhance the appeal and sustainability of halal tourism at the global level. Future researchers are advised to expand the analysis with a more comprehensive interdisciplinary approach.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged the transformation of banking services toward mobile platforms. However, the quality of Bank Jatim's JConnect Mobile service still needs improvement to achieve optimal user satisfaction. This study aimed to analyze the influence of service quality on the satisfaction of JConnect Mobile Bank Jatim users. The aspects of service quality examined include physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. A quantitative approach was employed, using multiple linear regression and descriptive statistical analysis. The sample consisted of 80 respondents who were JConnect users in the Surabaya area. The results of the study indicated that all service quality variables had a significant influence on user satisfaction. Physical evidence (t-count = 0.041), reliability (t-count = 0.039), responsiveness (t-count = 0.023), assurance (t-count = 0.004), and empathy (t-count = 0.014) were found to have significant partial effects. Simultaneously, the analysis showed a significance value of 0.000, which is lower than the alpha value, indicating that all service quality variables—physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy—collectively had a significant effect on user satisfaction. It can be concluded that service quality is an important factor that determines the satisfaction level of JConnect Mobile Bank Jatim users.

Abstract

The role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in influencing company performance has become a central topic in many investment considerations today. However, in its development, ESG alone has not been sufficient to deliver a significant improvement. Therefore, Digital Transformation (DT) has begun to be utilized to enhance the effectiveness of ESG. This study aims to analyze the effect of ESG on the performance of companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange Environmental, Social, and Governance Leaders Index (IDX ESGL), with digital transformation as a moderating variable. The sample consists of 45 companies that were consistently included in the IDX ESGL index over five evaluation periods from 2019 to 2023. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and panel data regression, with the aid of Microsoft Excel, Python, and EViews 13. The findings of this study indicate that ESG has a positive and significant impact on financial performance, as proxied by Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE), as well as on firm value, as measured by Tobin’s Q (TQ). However, digital transformation (DT) as a moderating variable does not strengthen the effect of ESG on financial performance or firm value. Based on the panel data regression results, the best-fitting model for the analysis without moderation (ESG only) is the Random Effect Model (REM) for Model 1 (ROA), Model 2 (ROE), and Model 3 (Tobin’s Q). Meanwhile, for models with DT as a moderator, the best-fitting models are the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) for Model 4 (ROA) and Model 6 (Tobin’s Q), and REM for Model 5 (ROE).

Abstract

Culinary Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in supporting Indonesia’s economy, particularly in Bogor and Depok as buffer cities of Jakarta with highly competitive market dynamics, yet their business sustainability remains challenged by limited networking capacity, low digital literacy, and insufficient external support. This study aims to examine the influence of partnership, information technology utilization, external support, and open innovation on the sustainability of culinary MSMEs by developing an integrated model grounded in the Resource-Based View and Dynamic Capabilities theories to explain how internal and external factors shape business resilience. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0, based on survey data collected from 289 culinary MSME owners in Bogor and Depok through both online and offline questionnaires. The research instrument consisted of 21 indicators representing five main constructs. The findings reveal that partnership, information technology utilization, and external support have a positive and significant effect on business sustainability, with partnership emerging as the most dominant factor, while open innovation shows no significant influence due to the limited collaborative capacity and networking among local MSMEs. The model explains 64.1 percent of the variance in business sustainability, indicating strong predictive power. These results highlight the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships, accelerating digital adoption, and ensuring adaptive policy support as the foundation for long-term competitiveness and sustainability. Practically, this study offers strategic recommendations for MSME actors, local governments, and supporting institutions to enhance the resilience of the culinary sector in navigating market dynamics and digital transformation.

Abstract

Indonesia's economic transformation in the endemic adaptation era creates complex investment dynamics for millennials and Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the influence of motivation and financial literacy on investment interest and its impact on investment decisions of the younger generation in Bandung City. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive-verification design on 100 respondents through purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is a Likert scale structured questionnaire that has been validated and tested for reliability. Data analysis uses path analysis to identify causal relationships between variables. The results show that financial literacy has a positive and significant influence on investment interest with greater dominance compared to motivation. Both variables simultaneously have a significant effect on investment interest. Investment interest is proven to be a significant mediator of investment decisions. Indirect effect analysis reveals that financial literacy through investment interest contributes more to investment decisions than motivation. Empirical findings confirm the crucial role of financial literacy in shaping the investment behavior of the digital generation. Cognitive components are proven to be more dominant than motivational aspects in driving investment decisions. The research implications emphasize the importance of strengthening financial education as a priority strategy in increasing the participation of the younger generation in the Indonesian capital market.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine and analyze the impact of commercial bank health on the profitability of commercial banks in Indonesia. The analysis in this study employs panel data regression techniques with a time series spanning from 2010 to 2023 and a cross-section of 105 commercial banks in Indonesia. The study's findings indicate that most bank health indicators have a positive and significant impact on profitability. Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Net Interest Margin (NIM), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Operating Expenses to Operating Income Ratio (BOPO) are all significant determinants of bank profitability. Future policies should prioritize dynamic capital requirements, advanced risk management systems, liquidity monitoring, and operational digitalization to enhance the resilience and competitiveness of banks in Indonesia.
