Abstract

Education is a conscious and planned effort in the learning process to enable students to develop into individuals who are independent, responsible, creative, knowledgeable, healthy, and possess noble character. In the learning process, the Islamic Education (PAI) teacher implemented the Snowball Throwing method to encourage students to think more creatively and to create a more enjoyable learning atmosphere. This study employed a qualitative research method with a field research approach. The data sources for this research were the Islamic Education teacher and the eighth-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques consisted of data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Snowball Throwing method in PAI learning for class VIII at SMPN 5 Panyabungan has been successfully carried out. This is evident from the highly appropriate execution of the Snowball Throwing method in PAI lessons, where teachers and students interact with one another. This interaction is aimed at overcoming student boredom, fostering creative thinking, training leadership potential in learning PAI, and achieving academic success in the subject. The implementation steps taken by the Islamic Education teacher in the Snowball Throwing method are: the teacher explains the material first, then forms groups; subsequently, students write questions on a piece of paper shaped into a ball and throw it to another group, which then answers the questions received.

Abstract

The implementation of the cooperative model of the Teams Games Tournament type is carried out through five main stages, namely the stage of class presentation, learning in group, games, competitions, and awarding to students. The students response to the implementation of Teams Games Tournament was very positive, they felt more motivated and easier to understand the material. The implication of implementing the cooperative model of the Teams Games Tournament type is an increase in students learning motivation in terms of activeness, responsibility, and enthusiasm in participating in lessons. Thus, the cooperative model of the Teams Games Tournament type is an effective alternatif to create more interesting and meaningful PAI-BP learning for students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the significant influence of the merdeka curriculum on students’ creativity and innovation in Islamic education and character education (pai-bp) learning at SMA Negeri 2 Plus Panyabungan. The importance of creating a learning process that encourages students to think creatively and act innovatively, especially in PAI-BP subjects that play a strategic role in shaping students’ character and morals. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 63 students selected through a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a likert-scale questionnaire. Validity and reliability tests indicated that all research instrument items were valid and reliable. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, pearson correlation tests, and simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study show a strong and significant relationship between the merdeka curriculum and students’ creativity and innovation, with a correlation coefficient of 0,780 and a significance value of 0,000. The R-square value of 60.8% indicates that the merdeka curriculum contributes 60,8% to the improvement of creativity and innovation in PAI-BP learning.

Abstract

Character education is an essential aspect of shaping students' personalities, particurly in instilling the value of compassion from an early age. This study aims to examine the implementation of partuturon learning practices in fostering students’ compassion values at SD Negeri 302 Aek Garingging. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of partuturon learning practices has been carried out effectively through role-playing methods, student grouping, and reinforcement of compassion values. The main supporting factors include strong local wisdom, teachers’ commitment, and students’ enthusiasm. However, the study also found several challenges, such as the lack of understanding of the philosophical meaning of partuturon and limited learning media. Despite these challenges, partuturon remains an effective approach to instilling compassion values in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aimed to understand how the learning process of Islamic Cultural History (SKI) was used as a medium for instilling multicultural values in students, the supporting and inhibiting factors involved, as well as the outcomes of the learning process. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included SKI teachers and students of MTs Darul Ikhlas Dalan Lidang. The results showed that SKI learning at MTs Darul Ikhlas Dalan Lidang had played an important role as a medium for instilling multicultural values such as tolerance, mutual respect, and cooperation. The learning process was carried out through various methods, including lectures, discussions, and teacher modeling that connected Islamic historical values with students’ daily lives. Supporting factors in this learning included the school's support, students’ enthusiasm, a diverse environment, and engaging teaching methods. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included limited time, lack of learning media, and differences in student character. In conclusion, SKI learning at MTs Darul Ikhlas Dalan Lidang was essential in fostering multicultural values, as teachers did not only teach historical knowledge but also embed moral and social values relevant to students’ lives.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Application of Quizizz technology in improving learning outcomes of the Qur'an and Hadith at MIS Model Panyabungan with Idgham material. The background of this study departs from the low involvement of students in the evaluation process at the end of conventional learning which tends to be monotonous and lacks interactivity, so a creative innovation and technology tool is needed to support the success of student evaluation to be better. Therefore, game-based learning technology such as Quizizz is expected to create a more enjoyable, competitive learning atmosphere and motivate students to achieve better learning outcomes. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) and the design used is in accordance with the Kemmis and MC Taggart models in the form of a plural cycle. This cycle has design stages in each round such as planning, action, observation and reflection. Sampling used qualitative and quantitative with statistical formulas. The subjects of this study were 28 students in class IV-A. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, documentation, interviews and tests. Based on the results of the study, the application of Quizizz technology can improve the learning outcomes of the Qur'an Hadith. This is evidenced by the observation sheets carried out in cycles I and II. The percentage of students who completed the learning outcomes of cycle I was 85.19% and cycle II 98.92%. So this shows that the application of Quizizz technology can improve the learning outcomes of the Qur'an Hadith in MIS Model Panyabungan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media for Islamic Religious Education and Character (PAI-BP) on the topic Roles and Exemplary Figures of Islamic Scholars in Indonesia for Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Panyabungan. Before the implementation of this media, students were less focused during learning due to the use of textual and less engaging materials. The development model applied in this study is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), using qualitative and quantitative approaches through observation, interviews, documentation, expert validation questionnaires, and limited trials. The research subjects included the PAI-BP teacher, 30 students, and material and media experts. The results showed that the AR-based media was highly valid (91.8%) and practical, receiving positive responses from 90% of teachers and 84.1% of students. The media presents Islamic scholars in 3D visualization, animation, and contextual information accessible via mobile devices using the Essmblr Edu application. The use of AR media effectively increased students’ activeness, interaction, and understanding. Teachers also played a vital role as facilitators during the learning process. Thus, AR- based learning media is considered an effective and relevant innovation to enhance the quality of Islamic Religious Education in the digital era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need for innovative and interactive learning media for Islamic Education and Character (PAI-BP), particularly at SMA IT Al-Husnayain Mandailing Natal. PAI-BP learning has previously used conventional methods, thus demonstrating the potential for supplementing learning activities with the use of digital technology. This research aims to develop a google sites-based interactive learning media called “Mabarin PAI” and to determine its validity, practicality, effectiveness, and evaluation. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, validation questionnaires for validators and teachers, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that: (1) Media development followed the ADDIE stages and produced an interactive product that met user needs; (2) Validation results from media experts (93,57%), material experts (81%), and teachers (93,33%) indicated a very valid category; (3) Very high practicality, with student scores of 90,05% and teachers of 93,75%; (4) Effectiveness reached 90,37%, in the very good category; and (5) The media has been proven to support digital, independent PAI-BP learning and is suitable for use as an alternative learning resource and PAI-BP learning media.

Abstract

Integrating Islamic values into educational psychology is essential for fostering students’ character, emotional regulation, and learning motivation. This study aims to identify psychological principles in the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad relevant to education, analyze their contribution to student development, and develop an integrative conceptual framework for contemporary Islamic education. A qualitative conceptual-analytical approach was employed, combining thematic analysis of selected Hadith and relevant scholarly literature. The findings reveal that Hadith emphasize ethical modeling, emotional management, and intention-based motivation, which together form a coherent and holistic framework for student development. The study concludes that a Hadith-based educational psychology framework provides practical guidance for educators in designing learning strategies that strengthen character, stabilize emotions, and enhance intrinsic motivation, offering a valuable theoretical and practical contribution to the advancement of contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the problems in Arabic writing skills of eighth-grade students at Ma'had Al-Ba'tsah Al-Islamiyah, as well as the efforts made to overcome them. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Data validity was strengthened through triangulation techniques, extended participation, and checking by participants (member check). The results of the study indicate the following. First, students face major difficulties in distinguishing letter shapes, dot placement, letter connection, and limitations in constructing sentences, choosing vocabulary, and expressing ideas. Second, these weak skills are influenced by linguistic factors, such as low vocabulary mastery and a lack of understanding of the rules of nahwu and sharaf, as well as non-linguistic factors such as low learning motivation, the use of conventional learning methods, minimal opportunities for independent practice, and lack of family support. Third, efforts to overcome these problems are carried out through the implementation of more varied learning strategies by teachers, such as free writing exercises, copying texts, and organizing creative activities. In addition, students also took the initiative to practice writing independently, keep diaries, join study groups, and take additional lessons. This study recommends implementing more diverse and contextual learning approaches, such as project-based learning, collaborative writing, language games combined with concept maps, ongoing writing practice, appreciation of student work, and the creation of a communicative classroom environment.
