Abstract

The European Curriculum Framework or GER (Germanistische Europäische Rahmen) German language proficiency levels are divided into several groups, namely A1- A2 – B1 - B2 – C1 – C2. This requires students to master the four language skills (Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening). Hörvestehen courses equivalent to level A2 are courses that practice listening skills. In the Hörverstehen Level A2 course, there are still many students who do not pass the listening ability (Hören). This demands that it is necessary to develop Learning Media in the Höverstehen Level A2 course. The Learning Media developed is packaged through learning media based on the Spotify Podcast, Podcast Spotify is a learning media that can be accessed anywhere, anytime and interestingly by integrating aspects of language skills according to the European Curriculum Framework or GER (Germanistische Europäische Rahmen). So, with Podcast Spotify will be able to convey the content of learning Hörverstehen Level A2 to students in the German Language Education Study Program. Therefore, the development of Spotify Podcast-Based Learning Media in the Höverstehen Level A2 course includes 6 themes, namely Leben und Lernen in Europa, Freizeit und Hobbys, Medien im Altag, Vom Land in die Stadt, Kultur erleben and Arbeitswelten. This development aims to develop learning media based on the Spotify Podcast in the Hörverstehen Level A2 Course in the German Language Education Study Program. The target of this Spotify Podcast-based learning media is to improve students' listening skills in learning German Level A2. In developing this Spotify Podcast-based learning media using the ADDIE model development method. In making Audio, the data was taken from the Studio Express A2 book and which was further developed in the form of the Spotify Audio Podcast.

Abstract

Learning French in high school carries an introduction to French culture as a form of cultural acculturation. Learning French is not only about learning the language, but also about culture. Even so, in learning French texts, students still have to negotiate with the foreign culture they are studying. There needs to be an adaptation of the French language into the ecological culture of the learner. So far, French teaching materials have not been sufficient to accommodate the ecological culture of students. Learning French doesn't have to be French. In the cultural context that surrounds students, students must also be able to collaborate between the Basic Competencies that must be achieved with the ecological relevance of using French. Therefore, it is necessary to present teaching materials for French Language Subjects based on Malay Ecology for high school students in the city of Medan. Malay is a culturally strong base in the city of Medan, so that the teaching materials also represent students' needs to survive in the ecological culture that surrounds them. This article presents the results of research that produces products in the form of teaching materials for French language subjects based on Malay ecology for high school students in Medan City. The aims of the research were 1) to produce teaching materials for French language subject based on Malay ecology for high school students in Medan City, 2) to measure the validity of teaching materials for French language subject based on Malay ecology for high school students in Medan City. This research uses the development method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, Evaluation). Validity test involves material and design experts. Based on the validity test, the results obtained were that the teaching materials obtained an average score of 88.75% by two validators in the very feasible category. The follow-up validity test was applied to high school students and teachers in Medan City with an average acquisition of 88.05% in the very decent category. This validation test uses a questionnaire technique to collect data on the feasibility of teaching materials based on the assessment of high school students and teachers in Medan City. Research products will be implemented in schools that are partners in the research.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the Implementation of Counseling Services for Students in Pandemi Time. This study uses a type of qualitative research method. Bogdan and Taylor define qualitative methods as research procedures that produce descriptive data in the form of written words orally from people and observable behavior. Kirk and Miller define that qualitative research is a particular tradition in social science that is fundamentally dependent on human observation both in its field and in terminology. The conclusion that the researchers got from this mini-research or observation is that in providing guidance and counseling services, not all counseling teachers provided this service to students during a pandemic, and some did not even provide the service, if any, the service provided by the guidance teacher. Counseling to service students is only in the form of a warning if the student's hair is long, a warning for being late or not paying tuition fees, a warning regarding students who rarely attend school, informing students who have received scholarships, and also guidance if there is a competition. That's all the services provided.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the Implementation of the 2013 Curriculum at Mts Al-Abraar. The purpose of this study is to find out how the effectiveness of the 2013 curriculum is compared to the previous curriculum, the constraints or obstacles occurred during the implementation of the 2013 curriculum, the respond of educators and students when using the 2013 curriculum which is far different from the previous curriculum, the things prepared in using the 2013 curriculum and the benefits or advantages for students and also educators when using the 2013 curriculum. This study uses qualitative methods because researchers consider the problems studied to be quite complex and dynamic so that the data obtained from the informants is captured using a more natural method, namely direct interviews with the informants so that natural answers are obtained. The conclusion that the researchers got from this mini research or observation is that schools have implemented the 2013 curriculum, but have not been able to achieve maximum implementation of the 2013 curriculum, because sometimes in learning they still use the KTSP system, such as teachers are more active than students, more teachers speak from on students. And this can happen because one of them is inadequate school facilities because in order to achieve successful implementation of the 2013 curriculum, adequate school facilities are also needed, such as infocus and others.

Abstract

The quest of English language learners to attain proficiency in English has been a phenomenon that needs to be investigated, particularly in relation to changes in UK national educational policy and funding that has defused the needs of EAL learners within a more general emphasis on inclusion and raising the achievement of ethnic minority children. Qualitative methods are used to allow thirteen children from Libya (newcomers) along with their parents and teachers to talk about their experiences of classroom support available for EAL learners within UK mainstream schools. Data are analysed using thematic analysis. The results showed that there is a lack of provision to enable teachers meet the specific language needs of EAL children. In fact, Libyan children found themselves immersed in a new classroom without EAL support or clear instructions through their first language. It was simply up to them whether they sank or swam. The implications of this study suggest that there is a need for careful assessment of EAL children’s academic background and level of primary language literacy. This should be derived from long-term procedures based on a structured national educational policy to respond to the newly-arrived EAL children and help them settle into mainstream schools.

Abstract

The main aim of this research was to investigate the current methods used by the Libyan school psychologists for children referred to them as having emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), and to make comparisons, where possible, with previous research. The data presented is taken from an adapted questionnaire which was based closely on that of McCall (1993). Analysis of responses from 8 schools from the two main Libyan cities (Tripoli & Benghazi) indicated that traditional methods are in common usage among school psychologists. Intelligent tests e.g. attainment and reading tests were used more than observation assessing the children referred. Family factors were found to be the main causes of producing behavioural problems e.g. the dynamics of relationships within the family. The greater number of children referred were found at the primary level with a larger number of boys than girls. The outcome showed tendency among teachers to remove EBD children from the main setting, though their difficulties are learning based.
