Abstract

The study aimed at investigating the impact of physics education using the interactive simulation program (PHET) and the virtual laboratories (Praxilabs) on the achievement of the tenth core class students in the Northern Mazar district of education. The study sample consisted of (105) students from the tenth core class of the Irhaba Secondary School for Boys, divided into three simple randomness groups, the first group and the second experimental group and the third group officer. The first experimental group consisted of (32) students who studied using the interactive simulation program (PHET). The second experimental group consisted of (41) students who studied using virtual laboratories (Praxilabs). The third group consisted of (32) students who studied using the standard method. The study tool consisted of a collection test designed by the researcher. The results of the study showed statistically significant differences between the average performance of the students in the two experimental groups and the performance of the RDT for the two experimental groups. The study also showed that there is a statistically significant difference between the average performance of the first experimental group and the second group for the second experimental group, which was studied using the virtual laboratories (PraxiLabs). The study recommended that private physics teachers and general science teachers should use virtual laboratories (PraxiLabs) and PHET in the educational process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the constituent forms of the French relative clause. The data source of this research is written text, namely the Tendance book. The data analysis method uses the billing method. The result of this research shows that the basic order of clauses in French is of type , namely the verb precedes the object. the object of the preposition is included in the constituent. Nod and Np constituents in the form of pronouns are in front of the verb, the French Relative Clause is not only a delimiter in noun phrases. French has relatively simple pronouns and relatively complex pronouns. The form of the verb that is conjugated will change according to the type (feminine or masculine) or from the angle of form (singular or plural). All relative pronouns in French have their respective functions according to the noun phrase they replace. From the conclusion above, it is clear that every language has its own uniqueness, even though there are similarities or differences.

Abstract

This analytical study aimed at analyzing the democratic values existing in sixth-grade English textbooks in Jordan. The population of the study consisted of all content of sixth-grade EFL textbooks during the scholastic year 2021\2022. The researchers developed a content analysis card consisting of 37 democratic values distributed according to (4) fields: Political Principles, Cultural Rights, Human and Social relations, and Religious Values. The findings revealed that there are 1846 democratic values in the sixth-grade textbooks. The findings also indicated that the political principles are the most frequent value in the content of sixth-grade English textbooks while religious values are the least promoted within the textbooks.

Abstract

It is widely accepted that the needs of EAL learners are as diverse as the population as a whole, reflecting a wide range of educational and linguistic needs. The quest of EAL learners to attain proficiency in English has been a phenomenon that needs to be explored, particularly in relation to changes in UK national educational policy and funding that has defused the needs of EAL learners within a more general emphasis on inclusion and raising the achievement of ethnic minority children. Qualitative methods are used to allow thirteen children from Libya (newcomers) along with their parents and teachers to talk about their experiences of classroom support available for EAL learners within UK mainstream schools. Data are analysed using thematic analysis. The results showed that there is a lack of provision to enable teachers meet the specific language needs of EAL children. In fact, Libyan children found themselves immersed in a new classroom without EAL support or clear instructions through their first language. It was simply up to them whether they sank or swam. The implications of this study suggest that there is a need for careful assessment of EAL children’s academic background and level of primary language literacy. This should be derived from long-term procedures based on a structured national educational policy to respond to the newly-arrived EAL children and help them settle into mainstream schools.

Abstract

Indonesian has always been ignored as a source of Noun Incorporation. This happens because of the agglutinative nature of Indonesian. This means that many words in Indonesian are formed by combining several morphemes. Even so, it is possible that in fact a lot of Noun Incorporation (IN) processes occur in Indonesian. This research uses Mithun and Rosen's approach in searching for Incorporation of Nouns in Indonesian. The results of this study reveal that the incorporation of nouns in Indonesian even though they are not productive, still occurs at level I and II. The incorporation of nouns of Mithun's ideas and also surprisingly (needs further investigation) occurs in two types of Rosen's ideas, namely Compounding Nominal Incorporation and Nominal Incorporation. Classifier. This research also reveals that many incorporation of nouns in Indonesian are idiomatic and according to (Mithun, 1986) this is common in several languages.

Abstract

Malay Dance is one of the local content dances from North Sumatra Province - Indonesia. It is important that Malay dance is well understood by various groups, both students and the general public as art connoisseurs. Understanding of Malay dance aims to increase insight and comprehensive knowledge related to Malay dance and its characteristics. Thus, through a deep understanding of the characteristics of Malay dance, the skills to create new dances become more creative. This study aims to formulate or formulate the characteristics of Malay Dance as the foundation for engineering new dance creations. The results showed that the characteristics of Malay dance were grouped intointo three major parts, namely: a) head movement group which includes four (4) kinds of motion; b) group of hand movements which includes fourteen (14) kinds of motion; and c) group of footwork which is divided into eleven (11) kinds of motion. All of these characteristics become the foundation for engineering the creation of a new Malay dance by using the elements of energy, space, and time as a foothold.

Abstract

Batak Simalungun is a part of the five Batak tribes, namely Batak Toba, Batak Karo, Batak Pakpak, and Batak Mandailing, as well as from eight indigenous tribes namely Melayu, Nias, and Sibolga Pesisir in North Sumatra Region. This study aims to explain how the traditional Batak Simalungun dance movement technique in Tortor Martonun, or in Indonesian can be interpreted as a weaving dance. The method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative. The approach used is an ethnographic study with an emphasis on the cultural aspects of the Batak Simalungun tribe. The research location was conducted in Simalungun Regency. The results showed that the Tortor Martonun belonging to the Simalungun community had 20 types of movements consisting of: Mamuyuk (collecting cotton fruit), Manrobus (boiling cotton fruit), Mamispis (separating seeds from cotton), Mamusur (developing), Manusun Bonang (composing thread), Marsigira (coloring), Manjomur Bonang (drying the thread), Mangganti (shaping the thread), Mamuyuk Bonang (taking the thread), Partorsahon Bonang (tidying the thread), Manggulung Bonang (rolling the thread), Martonun (weaving), Manggulung bonang (winding thread), Papeakkon Bonang (putting/placing the thread), Martonun (weaving), Mambuka Hiou (untying the woven/traditional woven cloth), Patorsahon Hiou (tidying the hiou), Pataridahkon Hiou (showing hiou), and Panutup (closing). Abstract

The title of the research is Asification of Interactive Multimedia-Based Teaching Materials in Class VIII Arts and Culture Subjects. The background of this research is that there is no material available for Class VIII Cultural Arts subjects (especially music and dance materials) that use interactive multimedia. The objectives of the research were: to compile teaching materials for the art of music and dance based on interactive multimedia in the Class VIII Cultural Arts learning in the form of a Book Creator. The target achieved in this research is to produce interactive multimedia teaching materials which are integrated into a single unit in the form of a Book Creator. The results of the study resulted in Cultural Arts teaching materials in the form of Book Creator consisting of e-books (materials for the art of music and dance), Malay music learning videos on Sri Langkat songs and techniques for playing Malay musical instruments, and Nias dance learning videos on Giri-giri dance and Nias dance techniques. It is hoped that the existence of Cultural Arts teaching materials using interactive multimedia (Book Creator) can increase students' creativity in learning Cultural Arts.

Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of the educational platform Edmodo in developing achievement and developing the trend toward science among ninth-grade students in Jordan. The study was applied during the second semester of the academic year 2021-2022. The researcher used the experimental method, where she prepared an achievement test to measure the extent to which students attain the topics of a proposed unit in science at the levels of remembering, understanding, application, and higher levels (analysis and synthesis), and a measure of attitudes towards sciences was used. The study sample consisted of (40) female students from Al-Mazar Secondary School for Girls. The results of the research revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (a < 0.05) in the effectiveness of the Edmodo educational platform in developing science achievement among ninth-grade students in favor of the post application. In addition, there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (a < 0.05) in the effectiveness of the Edmodo educational platform in developing the attitude towards science among ninth-grade students in favor of the post application. In light of the findings of the study, the researcher recommends; Training teachers to use Edmodo e-learning platforms, benefiting from the experiences of developed countries in the field of interactive curricula programming.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to empirically study the phenomena that occur related to learning strategies and locus of control by considering the variables of students' prior knowledge of learning outcomes. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Air Putih, North Sumatra during August to October 2016, and used experimental research methods. The number of subjects in this study each consisted of 40 students consisting of two treatment classes. While the data analysis technique used ANKOVA at a significance level of 0.05. The results obtained: (1) Indonesian language learning outcomes between groups of students taught with CTL learning strategies are higher than groups of students taught using expository strategies after controlling for initial knowledge, (2) Indonesian language learning outcomes among groups of students who have locus of internal control is higher than the group of students who have external locus of control after controlling for initial knowledge, (3) the effect of interaction between learning strategies and locus of control on Indonesian language learning outcomes after controlling for initial knowledge.
