Abstract

This paper aims at developing an instrument model to assess teacher’s creativity in designing and teaching music at school. The study was conducted by adapting the approach of Research and Development (R&D) from the model designed by Borg and Gall and the cycle model design developed by Cenamo & Kalk. The development comprises two stages; the model development and dissemination. The model development encompassed of model planning, model designing, as well as the try out. While, the dissemination stage was done by presenting the research result at a conference. At the end of the study, it was proven that the assessment instrument model used to assess teachers’ creativity in designing and teaching music subject at school had met with the research aim. It was shown from the try out test on the assessment instrument model development that: (1) the assessment material, assessment technique, rater criteria, assessment object, units of observation, competence test process, time allotment, observation process, measurement criteria, as well as the measurement rubric had been considered appropriate and had provenly matched from one to another so that it can be applied well; (2) the reliability of the assessment instrument based on Intraclass Correlation Coefficients/ICC test on consistency and absolute agreement definition type as well as the Generalizability Coefficient had met the criteria.

Abstract

The intertextual study between Ajidarma’s Kitab Omong Kosong and the Ramayana romance hypogram composed by Rajagopalachari leads us to the defamiliarization of the hegemony of Ramas power, deviating to the heinous, barbaric, and harassing domination of power over the people of the Ayodya colony. In the Ramayana romance, the hegemony of Ramas power, as awatara Lord Vishnu, being honored by his people for his courage against Rahwanas wrath. The hegemony of Ramas power goes hand in hand with the moral, the virtues of life, and the dharma. Ajidarma’s Kitab Omong Kosong is marked by defamiliarization motives. The motives form a plot (sjuzet) that deviates from the Ramayana and creates the wholeness of the story (fabula) which is constructed with a unique structure. Ramas character is told by defamiliar motives that (1) deviate not far from convention, (2) balanced between convention and innovation, and (3) free oneself by convention. Ajidarma created the story of Rama with several advantages: (1) deviating the role of the characters, thus avoiding the binary opposition of black and white characters in reaching power, (2) the stories being woven in a unique story structure, alternating between myths, facts, and literary images, (3) as a whole the novel it creates presents a peculiar and unique story (fabula), and (4) the novel becomes a plural text, i.e. a text with plural interpretations.

Abstract

Absurdism in drama script is different from the concept of absurdism in drama performance. In the performance, the absurdism can be firmly differentiated. In the script, this concept is still very confusing. Such issue will be worked out in this research by solving the following problems. 1) How is the form of absurdism in Noer’s texts of the drama tetralogy? 2) How is the characteristic of Indonesian typical absurdism in Noer’s tetralogy? 3) How is the redefinition of Indonesian distinctive absurdism based on the characteristic of Indonesian typical absurdism in Noer’s drama scripts? The method used is hermeneutics with a semiotic approach. Based on the discussion, the following conclusions are obtained. 1) Absurdism in the tetralogy Noer’s drama appears in the form of themes, characters naming, and plot or storyline. 2) The typical absurdism of Indonesian drama written by Noer is as follows. First, absurdity in drama actually appears from the belief in God. Second, human life is considered irrational, meaningless, worthless, or even playful. 3) The Indonesian distinctive absurdism redefinition based on the characteristic of Indonesian typical absurdism in Noer’s Orkes Madun is as follows. The typical Indonesian absurd drama text is a drama text that tells of the human life that is considered irrational, less meaningful, worthless, meaningless, or even considered to be playful, and arising out of trust in God.

Abstract

A Mate in Javanese culture needs to pay attention to weton of the two brides, to predict the fate of their marriage. This study aims to reveal the numerical value, ethnomathematical of a mate in Javanese culture. The method of this research is a qualitative method. In data collection and analysis we followed the literature recommendations for educational research in ethnomathematics to utilize different qualitative research tools. We interview three informants to collect the data and make ethnographic notes. The technique of data analysis is domains analysis, taxonomy analysis, component analysis, and theme analysis of Javanese Primbon. We proposed numerical value such remainder theorems in formal mathematics attributed a mate in Javanese culture.

Abstract

Pathet is one of the most important parts in a puppet performance. Unfortunately, discussions about pathets, especially from a metaphysical perspective are very rarely found so that the wayang metaphysics is not comprehensive. This study examines the metaphysical dimensions in the puppet performance pathet in Anton Bakker's metaphysical perspective, with the aim to complete the existing puppet metaphysics studies. This research uses the methodical method of assessment, namely interpretation; induction and deduction; internal coherence; holistic; historical continuity; idealization; comparison; heuristics; inclusive or analogous language; and description, and reflection. The results of this study indicate that: first, pathet is a representation of the concept of harmony in puppet shows. Pathet is a transcendental ontological norm in puppet shows. Transcendental ontological norms, in the perspective of Anton Bakker's ontology thinking, are called harmony. In other words, it can be said that the pathet is a representation of harmony or ontological norms that apply in a puppet show. All aesthetic elements of the show are returned to the pathet, and must remain in the corridor of the applicable pathet.

Abstract

Marriage is an essential part of life for most people. In the Javanese tradition, great attention is paid to the weton of the couple through Javanese Primbon. It predicts the fate of the couple in the marriage. This prediction of the Javanese outcome after the wedding has some numerical values. Therefore, this study aims to uncover these numerical values using ethnomathematics. This research uses a qualitative method. Analyzing the Javanese Primbon documents is meant to explore the numerical value of Javanese people. Also, analyzing the data using the Javanese Primbon documents was not only based on the interpretation of the researcher but also the result of discussions with cultural and mathematical experts. This study proposes numerical values such as number bases, remainder theorem, modulo, and modulus of the congruence in formal mathematics, which is associated with matchmaking using Javanese Primbon.
