Abstract

This study was conducted in the urban areas of Antananarivo 5 and Morarano, with the aim of examining the correlations between gender, education level, and the different forms of violence experienced by residents. A total of 500 participants, equally distributed between the two areas, were interviewed using a structured questionnaire. The results revealed a significant negative correlation between gender and education level, suggesting that a certain gender profile is associated with a lower level of education. Furthermore, education level showed moderate negative correlations with all forms of violence studied, indicating that a higher level of education could act as a protective factor against violence. The different types of violence were also interconnected, with psychological violence being positively correlated with physical, economic, and sexual violence.

Abstract

This article critically explores the underrecognized role of linguistics in multidisciplinary research and problem-solving. In response to global challenges that are increasingly communicative, symbolic, and culturally complex—such as misinformation, climate discourse, public health crises, and digital ethics—the study argues for a reimagined “linguistic roadmap” as a central variable in cross-disciplinary inquiry. Rather than viewing language merely as a communication tool, the paper reframes linguistics as an epistemological and methodological contributor to knowledge production and societal transformation. The research employs a qualitative, exploratory-descriptive design supported by critical discourse analysis and theoretical modeling. Drawing from scholarly literature, institutional frameworks, and case studies, the study identifies patterns in which linguistic expertise is either excluded or only superficially included in multidisciplinary collaborations. The findings reveal five core functions for a redefined linguistic roadmap: discursive mapping, cognitive framing diagnostics, cultural-pragmatic interfacing, ethical reflexivity, and applied linguistic integration (e.g., NLP and corpus analysis). Three case studies—in climate change communication, intercultural medical pragmatics, and legal technology—demonstrate the practical impact of linguistics when applied at the conceptual design level. These cases show that linguistic integration enhances both ethical coherence and operational efficacy in cross-sector initiatives. The article concludes that the minimal presence of linguistics in interdisciplinary research stems from epistemological hierarchies and public misconceptions. It advocates for structural reform across research institutions, funding mechanisms, academic curricula, and linguistics departments to reposition the field as a foundational science of meaning, cognition, and interaction. Ultimately, reimagining the linguistic roadmap is not only necessary for advancing interdisciplinary research but essential for building inclusive, context-sensitive, and ethically grounded solutions to today’s most pressing global problems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of multicultural education management at Pondok Pesantren Minhajul Haq Subang using a qualitative descriptive approach. The research focuses on the four core functions of educational management: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. These aspects are analyzed based on the roles of the Mudir Ma’had (head of the Islamic boarding school), the asatidz/asatidzah (teachers), and the involvement of students' parents. The results of the study indicate that multicultural education planning is carried out systematically by the Mudir Ma’had, integrating universal Islamic values such as inclusivism, tolerance, and mutual respect into the pesantren's vision and the learning curriculum. The organizational process is implemented through a clear and structured division of tasks, although it remains relatively centralized. The implementation of multicultural values is conducted gradually, primarily through their integration into specific subjects and student activities that promote the habituation of tolerant behavior. Evaluation is carried out comprehensively by the Mudir Ma’had, encompassing learning instruments, implementation processes, and changes in students' attitudes. The study found that approximately 70% of the planned programs had been implemented as targeted. These findings indicate that Pondok Pesantren Minhajul Haq has successfully developed a model of multicultural education grounded in contextual Islamic values, making a significant contribution to fostering awareness of diversity and promoting social harmony within the pesantren educational environment.

Abstract

This study examines the obstacles and opportunities in creating an ICT-integrated learning strategy at Ambararatabe General High School in Madagascar. Several interconnected factors hinder optimal ICT integration: limited teacher expertise, a scarcity of resources, and logistical challenges like unreliable transportation and communication infrastructure. A SWOT analysis, incorporating the PESTEL framework, shows that while political stability and digitization offer opportunities, economic disparities, insecurity, and insufficient ICT proficiency among students and teachers pose threats. The study explores the institution's micro-environment, highlighting collaborations with the Ministry of Education, UNICEF, and UNESCO, which provide crucial support. However, many students lack technology access and proficiency, a divide worsened by socio-economic factors. School procedures aim to raise parental awareness and support struggling students, emphasizing the need for community and institutional engagement. The findings suggest a multi-faceted approach is needed, including investments in infrastructure, teacher training, and interventions to address socio-economic barriers. Emphasizing ICT's potential to reduce inequalities and promote sustainable development, the study advocates for policies that foster digital literacy, ensure equitable access to technology, and enhance education to prepare students for a digital world.

Abstract

The subjugation of women within certain aspects of Nigerian culture is a significant concern that necessitates comprehensive efforts across multiple levels, including individual, relational, community, and societal interventions. Recently, both organizations and filmmakers have sought to highlight various societal issues that persistently traumatize women and children in the country. This research, therefore, offers an in-depth comparative analysis of trauma and gender dynamics as portrayed in the films Damage and Mr. and Mrs. Utilizing a qualitative methodology that combines content analysis of the selected films with Johan Galtung’s theory of structural violence, the research posits that the intricate depictions of violence in both films can be understood through their societal and cultural contexts. By examining the characters’ responses to challenges and conflicts, the study evaluates how effectively these films confront and dismantle traditional gender norms, fostering essential discourse on trauma, resilience, and societal transformation. A crucial aspect of the research involves examining audience attitudes and behaviors related to gender-based violence (GBV), assessed before, during, and after the viewing experience. This component provides significant insights into viewers’ perceptions, emotional reactions, and their understanding of GBV and its implications. Moreover, the study engages with crucial questions about establishing a more equitable community, where the dynamics between men and women move beyond the oppressive ‘master and slave’ paradigm. By delving into these themes, this research aims to enhance the growing body of literature that investigates the media’s critical role in shaping public perceptions and narratives surrounding gender-based violence

Abstract

Education plays a pivotal role in personal advancement and national economic development, serving as a key driver of social and economic mobility. Although Bangladesh has made notable progress in expanding access to education, significant inequalities persist across geographical regions, gender groups, and socioeconomic classes. These disparities limit access to quality education and constrain upward economic mobility, particularly among marginalized communities. The paper examines the multifaceted relationship between educational inequality and economic mobility in Bangladesh using secondary data and thematic analysis. The findings highlight several crucial determinants such as the rural-urban divide, gender-based disparities, and socioeconomic barriers that continue to impede equitable access to education. These structural challenges perpetuate cycles of poverty, restrict labor market opportunities, and hinder national productivity. The study underscores the urgent need for comprehensive policy reforms, equitable resource distribution, and inclusive educational initiatives to reduce educational disparities and foster a more just and sustainable economic future for Bangladesh.
