Abstract

This study aims to describe the quality of the odd semester final exam items for the Introduction to Editing course for the 2020/2021 academic year at the Indonesian Literature Program, Universitas Negeri Semarang. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive method. The research subjects were 60 students. Data collection techniques were carried out by documenting. Quantitative data analysis based on level of difficulty, discriminating power, quality of distractors, validity, and reliability with 100 questions. The results of the analysis show that the quality of the odd semester final exam items in the Introduction to Editing course has a moderate level of difficulty, sufficient discriminating power, and very good distracting qualities. In addition, there are 68 valid items and 0.78 reliability in the high category. The conclusion of the study is that the odd semester final exam items for the Introduction to Editing subject need to be revised to improve the quality of the items.

Abstract

The Effect of Comic Setrips Containing Local Wisdom on High School Students' Poetry Writing Ability. This study aims to examine the effect of comic strip media containing local wisdom on the ability to write poetry in class X SMA students. This research is a quasi-experimental research using pretest and posttest control. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Kota Binjai involving two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Data was collected using a performance test to measure students' ability to write poetry of local wisdom. Data analysis using T-test technique. The results showed that the average of the experimental group reached an average value of 81.73. The result of the effect is 0.91 which is a large effect.

Abstract

Permendikbud No. 66/2013 concerning assessment standards explains that the assessment techniques and instruments used in the 2013 Curriculum include competency assessment of attitudes, knowledge, and skills. This means that learning and assessment must develop students' competencies related to the affective, cognitive, and psychomotor domains. Assessment of the affective domain is important because assessing the affective domain must be carried out in learning activities. The education unit needs to design and develop an appropriate affective domain assessment to achieve optimal learning objectives. In this study, the affective domain rating scale uses skills assessment using a Likert scale. Think Talk Write is a learning model that can improve activity and communication among students. Ngalimun argues that the Think Talk Write learning model is a type of learning model that starts with thinking through the reading material, communicated with presentations, discussions, and then reports on the presentation results.

Abstract

The low awareness among the younger generation regarding the values of food and environmental sustainability poses a significant challenge in preserving cultural heritage and ecosystems in Indonesia. This study aims to describe the level of students' literacy on food and environmental sustainability values embedded in their local wisdom. The study involved 252 sixth-grade students as participants. Data were collected through surveys and interviews to assess the students' understanding of food sustainability values in folktales, such as the origins of vegetables and corn, and environmental sustainability values in traditional ceremonies, such as the village clean-up ceremony and water source conservation. The data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative approaches to provide a comprehensive understanding of the students' literacy. The findings revealed that the majority of students showed more positive literacy regarding environmental sustainability values in traditional ceremonies compared to food sustainability values in folktales. Students were more supportive of environmental cleanliness and the preservation of water sources. On the other hand, students' literacy regarding food sustainability values, particularly those related to corn, was relatively low. Key factors influencing this low literacy included limited access to folktales, negative perceptions of corn-based foods (which are associated with "demonic foods" in traditional ceremonies), and socio-economic stigma towards corn rice. The conclusion of this study is that students' literacy on sustainability values embedded in local wisdom is not evenly distributed.

Abstract

Salah satu pendekatan dalam pelaksanaan homeschooling adalah independent learning atau pembelajaran mandiri. Namun, belum banyak homeschooling yang menerapkan pendekatan tersebut. Homeschooling Sigma Phineta di Surakarta telah menerapkan pendekatan tersebut. Sudah tentu, proses dan hasil pelaksanaan pendekatan independent learning penting untuk dikaji agar dapat menjadi model bagi homeschooling lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan kendala penerapan program Independent Learning di Homeschooling Sigma Phineta. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan studi kasus. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, staf bagian akademik, tutor, dan peserta didik di Homeschooling Sigma Phineta. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan program independent learning di Homeschooling Sigma Phineta dilakukan dengan pemantauan jarak jauh melalui video call yang dilakukan oleh tutor kepada peserta didik. Bahan ajar yang disediakan berupa buku teks dan buku pendukung yang berguna untuk melatih kemampuan belajar peserta didik secara mandiri. Mekanisme evaluasi yang dilakukan, yaitu dengan memberikan latihan soal-soal, baik yang terdapat dalam buku teks maupun kuis-kuis yang dapat meningkatkan wawasan pengetahuan peserta didik. Kendala yang dialami pada pembelajaran Independent Learning, yaitu berupa jaringan internet yang tidak stabil, semangat belajar peserta didik menurun, dan kurangnya pemantauan dari orang tua terhadap perkembangan belajar anak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan oposisi biner tokoh rahwana, inkonsistensi logis tokoh Rahwana, dan konstruksi baru tokoh Rahwana dalam cerpen Namamu Rahwana karya Artie Ahmad. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif analisis isi cerita pendek dengan pendekatan dekonstruksi. Data penelitian ini adalah kata, frasa, klausa, kalimat, paragraf, dan wacana dalm cerpen Namamu Rahwana karya Artie Ahmad. Tekni pengumpulan data yakni analisis dokumen cerpen Namamu Rahwana karya Artie Ahmad dengan teori dekonstruksi. Validitas data dengan triangulasi teori, data yang telah didapatkan dengan teori dekonstruksi dibandingkan dengan teori hasil penelitian. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini yakni tokoh Rahwana dalam cerita pendek Namamu Rahwana karya Artie Ahmad tidak lagi dianggap sebagai karakter yang sepenuhnya buruk dan jahat. Dalam cerita pendek tersebut terdapat dekonstruksi tentang karakter Rahwana. Dekonstruksi terhadap tokoh Rahwana ini menentang pandangan tradisional tokoh Rahwana yang selama ini didasarkan pada narasi klasik Ramayana. Rahwana, dalam cerpen ini, dihadirkan sebagai simbol cinta tulus seorang lelaki, hal ini mencerminkan bahwa dalam setiap tokoh antagonis, terdapat potensi untuk sisi baik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work discipline on the performance of employees at the Police Pamong Praja and Fire Department of Merauke Regency. Work discipline is considered one of the factors that is expected to enhance employee performance, especially in carrying out operational tasks that require punctuality and responsibility. This study uses a quantitative method with a simple linear regression approach to test the effect of work discipline (independent variable) on employee performance (dependent variable). The sample used in this study consists of 40 respondents, who are employees of the Police Pamong Praja and Fire Department of Merauke Regency. The results of the study show that the t-value for work discipline (X) is 8.479, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.026. In addition, the significance value for work discipline (X) is 0.000, which is smaller than the probability value of 0.005. Therefore, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant effect of work discipline on employee performance at the Police Pamong Praja and Fire Department of Merauke Regency. These findings indicate that the better the work discipline of employees, the higher the performance produced. This study provides important contributions in understanding how work discipline can play a role in improving employee performance in government institutions, particularly in the fire department sector.

Abstract

The introduction of Javanese script to the younger generation, especially high school students, has become a challenge in today's digital era. Lack of interest and less interactive learning methods have led to low literacy in Javanese script. Therefore, this study aims to develop the "Sekrebel" application based on folklore as an interactive learning medium that appeals to high school students. This application combines educational and entertainment elements through folklore presented in Javanese script and Latin transliteration. The study results show that using this application significantly improves students' understanding and skills in reading and writing Javanese script.
