Abstract

The essence of education is the process of humanizing humans through the formation of free and creative humans. However, data from various sources show that there is an increase in cases of violence among students and a lack of respect for human values. Therefore, a humanist educational approach is needed that is able to develop individual potential optimally and build social awareness to achieve a harmonious life. This study uses a library research method by reviewing various reference sources such as books, journals, articles, and previous research. The main literature used includes books by KH Abdurrahman Wahid on education and religious humanism as well as John Dewey's writings on pragmatism and experience-based education. Data are analyzed descriptively to identify similarities and differences in the thoughts of the two figures. The concept of humanist education developed by KH Abdurrahman Wahid and John Dewey provides an important contribution to understanding education as a means of humanizing humans. Gus Dur integrates religious values into education, while Dewey emphasizes experience-based education to form democratic and productive individuals. The combination of the thoughts of these two figures can be the basis for developing a more holistic and inclusive education system. In the Indonesian context, integrating this approach can help create an education system that is not only academically relevant, but also capable of building a tolerant, just, and prosperous national character.

Abstract

Fish farming in Pasaman Regency is growing rapidly, but still faces the challenge of uncontrolled feeding, which increases production costs and reduces water quality. This study develops an IoT-based automatic feeding system with NodeMCU ESP8266 to precisely set the schedule and amount of feeding, monitor water conditions in real-time, and enable remote control via smartphone. As a result, this system increases efficiency, reduces operational costs, and supports the sustainability of fish farming, so it is expected to be a model for the development of aquaculture in Indonesia. Aquaculture plays a significant role in food production, and efficient fish feeding is essential for optimal growth and resource management. Traditional feeding methods often lead to overfeeding, underfeeding, and inconsistent feeding schedules, affecting fish health and increasing operational costs. This study proposes the design and implementation of an automatic fish feeder integrated with an IoT-based monitoring system using the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller. The system enables precise control over feeding times and portions, reducing feed waste and ensuring better fish nutrition. Real-time monitoring is achieved through IoT connectivity, allowing users to track feeding activities and environmental conditions remotely via a mobile application or web interface. The research focuses on system design, hardware development, software implementation, and performance evaluation. The results demonstrate the system's effectiveness in optimizing fish feeding, enhancing aquaculture efficiency, and providing a user-friendly monitoring solution. This innovation contributes to smart aquaculture practices, promoting sustainability and cost-effective fish farming.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of learning management in madrasahs implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. The main focus of the research is to assess the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning conducted by educators and madrasah managers in order to improve the quality of Islamic education. This research uses literature review methods and analyzes various relevant sources, such as books, magazines, articles, and previous studies related to the Evaluation of Learning Management in Madrasahs Based on the Merdeka Curriculum. The findings show that the implementation of learning management based on the Merdeka Curriculum in madrasahs has great potential in improving the quality of Islamic education in Indonesia. However, the effectiveness of its implementation highly depends on the readiness of human resources, infrastructure, and support from the government and other education stakeholders. To achieve a more optimal implementation, strengthening teacher training, providing supporting facilities, and establishing a more structured evaluation system are necessary. The evaluation of learning management in madrasahs based on the Merdeka Curriculum is an important step in ensuring that the educational process applied is not only relevant to the needs of the times but also maintains the Islamic values that characterize madrasahs. Through improvements and strengthening of the learning management system, madrasahs are expected to become leading educational institutions in shaping a generation that is knowledgeable, has good character, and is highly competitive.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of (1) the principal’s authentic leadership and (2) the work climate on (3) teachers’ social competence at SMKN 1 Kuantan Mudik. This research adopts a quantitative approach with a random sampling technique, meaning the samples are selected randomly. The data collection method used in this study is a questionnaire. The results indicate an influence of teachers' social competence on teachers' social competence. The partial hypothesis test shows a significance value of 3.507. By comparing the calculated t-value and the t-table value (3.507 > 1.671), the hypothesis is accepted. The conclusion is that since the calculated t-value (3.507) is greater than the t-table value (1.671) and the significance level is less than 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05), it means that ????a is accepted, and ????0 is rejected. This implies that, partially, there is a significant influence of the principal’s authentic leadership on teachers’ social competence at SMKN 1 Kuantan Mudik. Furthermore, there is also an influence of the work climate on teachers’ social competence. The partial hypothesis test results show a significance value of 4.039. By comparing the calculated t-value and the t-table value (4.039 > 1.671) and noting that the significance level is less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), it means that ????a is accepted, and ????0 is rejected. This indicates that, partially, there is a significant influence of the work climate on teachers’ social competence. The combined influence of the principal’s authentic leadership and the work climate is measured at (3.150), as the calculated F-value (33.690) is greater than (3.150), and the significance level (0.000) is less than 0.05. Therefore, ????0 is rejected, and ????a is accepted. This demonstrates a significant influence of the principal’s authentic leadership and the work climate on teachers’ social competence at SMKN 1 Kuantan Mudik.

Abstract

Globalisation led to significant changes in the use of regional languages and local cultural identities, particularly in Indonesia, a country renowned for its linguistic and cultural diversity. This study aimed to analyse the impact of globalisation on the decline in regional language use, identify the factors that influenced the shift in local cultural identity, and explore adaptive strategies to preserve language and culture in the digital era. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature analysis method, this research examined various academic journals, books, and research reports published within the past decade. The findings indicated that globalisation significantly contributed to the decline in the number of regional language speakers, with Indonesian and foreign languages increasingly dominating daily communication. Furthermore, global culture, disseminated through social media and the entertainment industry, shifted young people’s interest away from local traditions. However, this study also highlighted the potential of social media as a tool for revitalising local languages and cultures, with various digital initiatives successfully raising public awareness of cultural preservation. Strategies to sustain local language and culture included integrating regional languages into education, utilising digital technology, implementing government policies, promoting cultural awareness campaigns, and fostering collaboration with the creative industries. Nevertheless, this study had limitations, as it did not incorporate direct field data. Therefore, future research was recommended to adopt ethnographic approaches and quantitative analysis to measure the long-term effectiveness of digital strategies. The findings of this study were expected to serve as a reference for policymakers, educators, and cultural communities in formulating strategies to safeguard local languages and cultural heritage amidst the pressures of globalisation.

Abstract

Education is the main means in the formation and creation of quality human resources, both through education at home and through education at school. Without education, it will be difficult to produce good quality human resources that can determine the future of the nation itself. This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership and school culture on the performance of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) teachers in State Senior High Schools throughout Pekanbaru City. The research method used is a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The research sample consisted of 51 PPKn teachers selected using saturated sampling techniques. The results of the study showed that principal leadership and school culture had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, with principal leadership having a greater contribution than school culture. Simultaneously, both variables contributed 79.4% to improving teacher performance. Based on these findings, it is recommended that principals implement a more participatory and transformative leadership style, and strengthen a collaborative and innovative school culture in order to improve the quality of learning.
