Abstract

The use of the Synetic Approach (an approach that focuses students' attention and competence) in the Straight Motion learning process helps learning so that it runs optimally. Students can easily understand and master the subject matter, in addition, students are required to be active, responsible and disciplined in teaching and learning activities. This study aims to improve student achievement through the application of a synectic approach. This study uses classroom action research (CAR) which was conducted at SMK SMTI Pontianak in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year on Straight Motion material. The implementation of the action was carried out in three cycles and carried out in four stages, namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results of the research at the first meeting of the sub-subject material for Regular Motion Learning obtained an average score of 61.15 with a completeness of 31%, then the results of reflection then in the second cycle for the sub-subject of uniformly changing straight motion obtained an average score of 68.46 with completeness 69%. In the third cycle, the sub-subject of vertical motion obtained an average score of 80.73 with 100% completeness. From physics learning that is carried out using the Synetics Approach, it is found that student learning achievement increases, then in the process of action by the teacher in learning using the Synetic Approach, it can help, develop and complete physics learning materials or materials for students so that they are trained to acquire deeper knowledge.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability to understand the concept of physics, the relationship between interest in learning and understanding the concept, the relationship between learning motivation and understanding the concept, and the relationship between interest and motivation to learn with the ability to understand the concept of physics in class X MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 6 Pontianak. The form of research used is correlational with a quantitative approach. The results showed that the ability to understand the physics concept of work and energy was an average percentage of 43% category less than once. The highest indicator of students' concept understanding is translation with a percentage of 61% in the sufficient category, while the lowest indicator of concept understanding is extrapolation with a percentage of 27.5% category less than once. In this study, there is a relationship between interest in learning and understanding of physics concepts of 0.399 which is at the level of a weak relationship. In addition, there is a relationship between learning motivation and understanding of physics concepts of 0.440 at the moderate level of relationship. Then there is a relationship between interest and motivation to learn with understanding the concept of physics of 0.505 which is at the moderate level of relationship. The results of this study are expected to be taken into consideration in determining learning strategies to improve students' conceptual understanding skills and increase students' interest and motivation to learn.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of thinking skills of students in solving Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions about simple aircraft material which are then analyzed with the help of the winstep program from Rasch modeling. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a survey method. Data collection by giving a test, HOTS-based questions with cognitive levels C4 and C5 as many as 15 items in multiple choice form. Subjects in this study amounted to 120 students that is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pontianak. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the average level of thinking ability of students in solving HOTS questions about simple aircraft material is 59% in the moderate category. The level of thinking ability of students at each cognitive level can be concluded that the average thinking ability of students at the cognitive level to analyze (C4) is 50% with the medium category, and at the cognitive level evaluating (C5) by 44% with low categories. The level of thinking skills of students on each simple aircraft sub-material can be concluded that the average thinking ability of students on the lever material is 37% with the medium category, on the inclined plane material, namely 52% with the high category, and the pulley material is 35% in the low category. Based on the results of this analysis, it shows that on average students have not been able to solve questions with more complex characteristics or a high level. Therefore, This research is expected that students can be trained in solving problems at a higher level in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the STEM-based PjBL model on students' critical thinking abilities on dynamic electrical material. The research method used is a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique of this research is non-probability sampling in the form of purposive sampling, which takes a sample of 31 students from 8th grade SMP Negeri 2 Balai. The research instrument is the critical thinking test and student responses questionnaire. The critical thinking form test is multiple-choice accompanied by reasons totaling 10 questions. The student response questionnaire consisted of 15 questions. The STEM project that the students worked on was a miniature energy-efficient house. The result of questionnaires conducted by students, known majority of students has good responses to the STEM-based PjBL learning. The result of the paired t-test analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 25, shows that Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000. It means a significant difference average between the pretest and posttest scores. The students' average posttest scores were higher than the average pretest scores.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of 5e learning cycle model in reducing students misconception on force concept in SMP Negeri 1 Jawai Selatan. This research was a pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. This research use intact sample of class VIII C which consist of 28 students. The result of data analysis showed that students misconception before remediation was 78,34% in the all concept of force. Meanwhile, after remediation the misconception decrease by 20,34% to 58% of all concept. The result of McNemar significance test on df = 1 and α = 5% showed x2count > x2table, were equal to 15,91> 3,84. There was a conceptual change on the students significantly. The effect size of this research attain a high result d = 1,242. With the result, 5e learning cycle model assisted animation concept effective to remediated class VIII C student misconception on force concept in SMP Negeri 1 Jawai Selatan.

Abstract

The purpose of study was to determine the effectiveness of remediation of misconceptions by using the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, and Extending (CORE) learning model to reduce the number of student who had misconceptions about heat at SMP Negeri 6 Sambas. The form of design was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. This study used a random sampling method in intac group involving 35 students of class VIIIA who were tested using a multiple-choice diagnostic test consisting of 9 questions. Based in data analysis, there was a decrease in the percentage of the students who experienced misconceptions with an average of 75.75%. The result of McNemar’s test shows that the calculated 2 of 28.26 is greater than 2 table of 3.84, so there is a significant conceptual change after remedial activities using the CORE model. The effectiveness of remediations based in the DQM price with an average of 83.27% (high category). The CORE model is expected to be used as an alternative to remediation activities to reduce the number of students who experience misconceptions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the factors that affect students' problem abilities, namely interests, self-efficacy, and basic mathematical abilities. The form of research used is original research. The sample consisted of 90 students of class XI-IPA at SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya, and the research instruments used were questionnaires and description questions. The data obtained were then processed with the SPSS application, as follows: 1) interest contributed 0,42% in problem-solving skills 2) the relationship of self-efficacy contributed 32,02% in problem ability 3) the relationship between basic mathematical abilities contributed 63,96 % in the ability to handle problems 4) the relationship of interest, self-efficacy, and basic mathematical abilities together contributes 96,40% to the problem management ability, so there are two factors that relate to or affect problem ability while the other factor is not related . The coefficient of determination for these three factors is 40.1%, while the rest is seen by other factors. In general, there is a significant relationship between interests, self-efficacy, basic mathematical abilities and problem problem abilities. This research is expected to be a reference to improve the factors that affect the problem solving ability of students.

Abstract

Carbon dots (Cdots) are synthesizable nanoparticles. One of them is taking advantage of binahong leaves (Anredera scandes L.). In this research, the synthesis of Cdots fresh binahong leaves and dried binahong leaves has been carried out. Using buttom up method and UV-Vis characterization. Microwave heating for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the physical properties of the resulting Cdots color are fresh Binahong leaves showing a yellowish green color, while the physical properties of dry Binahong leaves show a brownish green color. Cdots fresh binahong leaves has a light absorbance spectrum at a wavelength of 200-800 nm with the highest intensity measured at a wavelength of 323 and the energy value of the band gap of 1.503 Ev. Meanwhile, for Cdots, dried Binahong leaves have a light absorption spectrum at a wavelength of 200-800 nm with the highest intensity measured at a wavelength of 361 nm and an energy value of 8.231 Ev band gap.

Abstract

The aim of this project is to solve the Maxwell’s Equation using the finite difference (FD) method. We test the governing equation by discretizing the equation in 1-Dimensional System to describe the distribution of the magnitude of Electric and Magnetic Field within the subsurface layer. We assume that earth layer has constant conductivity (σ) where σ>>εω as a consequence that the system is homogenous and isotropic. We consider that the distribution of the field is described by the diffusion equation. We apply the modified form of FD method with Crank-Nicholson to improve the precision of the simulation.

Abstract

This study aims to decribe the digital literacy profile of students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak. The form of research used is survey. The sample in this study was selected through a saturated sampling technique (all members of the population) totaling 100 students. The research instrument using a questionnaire consists of 22 statements, 4 aspects and 12 indicators. The results showed that the digital literacy skills of students in the attitude aspect of the attitude indicator towards online learning were 62%, the socio-emotional aspect of the indicator was 59% teamwork, network sharing 70%, ethics 73%, legal literacy 71% and self-preservation 82%. The technical aspects of cognition and discovery indicators are 78% each, 63% presentation. The cognitive aspect of the analysis indicator is 65%, evaluation is 72% and creativity is 74%. In general, the four aspects of digital literacy skills are categorized as quite good, except for the socio-emotional aspect of the team work indicator of 59% which is still quite lacking. The lack of ability in these indicators is caused by students having difficulty communicating with group friends in online learning.
