Abstract

ABSTRAK Antibiotik merupakan bagian penting dalam terapi infeksi bakteri  karena itu penemuan sumber antibiotik baru yang potensial sangat diperlukan untuk mengatasi masalah akibat  infeksi bakteri. Streptomyces adalah bakteri yang mampu memproduksi agen antimikroba dan banyak ditemukan di tanah pada rizosfer tanaman tingkat tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui potensi Streptomyces dari rizosfer Familia Poaceae yang dapat menghasilkan antibiotik untuk menghambat bakteri S. aureus dan  E. coli. Isolasi Streptomyces dari rizosfer rumput kembangan (Digitaria microbachne (Presl.) Henr), rumput gajah (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) dan alang–alang (Imperata cylindrica L) yang tumbuh dari tanah yang kering, sedikit berpasir dan tidak tergenang air. Tahap awal isolasi Streptomyces adalah pre treatment sampel tanah. Isolasi menggunakan media raffinosa-histidine agar. Isolat dipurifikasi pada media benneth agar kemudian dipindah ke media oatmeal agar untuk menumbuhkan spora. Identifikasi isolat Streptomyces dilakukan dengan pengecatan Gram. Uji potensi isolat Streptomyces dilakukan dengan metode agar block menggunakan bakteri uji S. aureus dan  E. coli ATCC 25922. Hasil isolasi diperoleh 57 isolat Streptomyces dengan warna miselium vegetatif, spora aerial dan pigmen difus yang berbeda. Dari 57 isolat diperoleh 10 isolat (17,50%) berpotensi ”sangat kuat” (diameter lebih dari 20 mm), 6 isolat (10,52%) berpotensi ”kuat” (diameter 10-20 mm) terhadap S. aureus, sedangkan terhadap E. coli ATCC 25922 diperoleh 8 isolat (14,04%) berpotensi antibiotik “sangat kuat” (20-30 mm), 11 isolat (17,54%) berpotensi ”kuat” (10-19,5 mm), dan 1 isolat (1,75%) berpotensi ”sedang” (7 mm).   Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah Streptomyces dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber penghasil antibiotik baru yang sangat potensial di Indonesia.   Kata Kunci:  Antibiotik, Streptomyces,  Familia Poaceae, Rizosfer

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to know the plant growth merbau by vegetative propagation of shoot cutting from 12 populations at dry areas of Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta. Twelve of these populations originated from Carita Banten, West Java, Mandopi Papua, Minamin East Halmahera Maluku, Nabire Papua, Nusajaya Halmahera Maluku, Oransbari Papua, Pacific land race Darmaga Bogor West Java, Twanwawi Papua, Waigo Papua, Wasior Papua, Seram Maluku. The design of RCBD with 12 populations consisted of totally 120 mother trees, 5 blocks, 3 treeplot, 6m x 2m trunk. The caracter traits measured were plant height, diameter of plant and survival rate at 2,5 years old. The result of varian analisis showed there are significant differences among populations that are tested on height, diameter and survival rate. From the result of research that the Pacific land race Darmaga Bogor West Java is the best growth on height 81,4cm and diameter 8,9mm. The highest of survival rate is from Oransbari Papua 82,72%. Average plant height growth Merbau at the site of the study is 61,3cm, the mean diameter 7,8mm and survival rate 63,55%.

Abstract

Basically all prospective biology teacher students must have the skills in managing and using the laboratory. In every activity in the laboratory, all involving students' activities, creativity, and intellectual, so that in achieving the success of learning in the laboratory, biology teacher students must master the compulsory course of the introduction of the lab. This study aims to analyze the basic skills of biology teacher candidates in introductory laboratory courses in the management, use and maintenance of laboratory equipment. This research is a descriptive explorative research conducted in the biology education program of UNIROW Tuban academic year 2017/2018 on students of class of 2016 semester 2 which amounted to 14 people. Data on the basic skills of these biology teacher candidates are derived from performance appraisals on some of the skills tested with several assessments that include tooling skills, observing skills, communication skills, concluding skills and laboratory maintenance skills. The results showed that the average of all aspects of skills assessed showed good results that is 86. Meanwhile, when viewed from the average of each skill aspect, the scores obtained were 86 for skills using tools, 87 for observing skills, 86 for communication skills, 83 for concluding skills and 88 for laboratory maintenance skills.

Abstract

South Kalimantan has a diverse flora, this can be seen from the many diverse types of trees.Growing human populations, it also increases the demand for availability of land for settlements that cause a reduction in forest green areas impact the decline of biodiversity especially Aleurites moluccana Willd plant in South Kalimantan forests. The purpose of this research is to assess the population structure of Aleurites moluccana Willd In The Tour Bajuin Waterfall Tanah Laut. The method used was survey method 10 m x 10 m quadrant for the seedling, sapling, pole and tree, systematically in region 1 at the top of the waterfall Bajuin and region 2 under the waterfall Bajuin each 500 m x 250 m quadrant. Results research population structure of Aleurites moluccana Willd in region 1 density of seedling 96 ind/Ha, sapling 60 ind/Ha, pole 44 ind/Ha and tree 64 ind/Ha, while in region 2 density of seedling 260 ind/Ha, sapling 144 ind/ha, pole 116 ind/ha and tree 228 ind/ha. In region 1 and region 2 number of young individu much more older individual thus forming the wide base of the pyramid, show the population is growing.Keywords: Population structure, Aleurites moluccana Willd

Abstract

Learning media is an integral part of teaching and learning process to achieve learning objectives. Teachers are required to be able to choose and use the learning media. However, teachers often choose less appropriate learning media. Learning can take place effectively, efficiently and attractively, if a teacher can make changes in delivering the subject matter. Learning media that has been applied by teachers is less fun that makes students become bored and less able to absorb the material taught, so that activity decreases and student learning outcomes become low. This study aims to analyze the level of validity of media experts and material experts to media based puzzle puzzlemake a match on sub cell subject that has been developed through the validity test. Development of this media use ADDIE learning model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data collection techniques use a sheet of validation of media experts and materials. Test of media validity of make-match puzzle based media by media expert and material expert of validity result shows that the level of validity of make-match based puzzle that has been developed reaches 73,82% from facet of valid category media and 87,38% in terms of material expert Category is very valid with the average validity of media experts and material experts reached 80.6% it shows that the validity level of make-match media based puzzle as a learning medium is valid and ready to be utilized in actual learning activities. Based on the results of the research, the learning media based on puzzlemake a match puzzle based on the sub-subject of the developed cell is declared valid to be applied as a learning medium.

Abstract

Usually melon fruit consumed freshly or in the form of processed and the  melon skin oftenly become wastes. An utilization of melon skin is by using fornata production. It is an alternative for waste reduction and  food diversification. This research use two varieties of melon, i.e: Kanaya and Indorif. The sugar sort are: cane sugar, palm sugar and siwalan sugar. This research was done to (1) observe the effect of melon varieties towards nata qualities based on the thickness, weight, and fiber contents. (2) observe the effect sugar sorts towards nata qualities based on the thickness, weight, and fiber contents. (3) observe the effect of melon varieties and sugar sorts towards nata qualities based on the thickness, weight, and fiber contents. This research is an experimental research with factorial design. The research result shows: (1) There is no effect of melon varieties towards nata qualities based on the thick, weight, and fiber content, it is mean that the skin of Kanaya as well as Indorif melon could be useas material for nata production. (2) There is no effect of sugar sorts towards the natathickness. People can choose one of the three kinds of sugar for nata production. However,  sugar sort are significantly affected towards the nata quality based on the weight and fiber content. The palm sugar have the highest weight and fiber content .(3) there is no interaction effect of melon varieties and sugar sorts towards the thickness and weight. However, the interaction of melon varieties and sugar sorts significantly affected towards the fiber content. The best nata quality best on fiber content is nata that made kanaya melon with palm sugar

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pendekatan accelerated learning terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian adalah posttest only control design. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan accelerated learning pada kelompok eksperimen dan pendekatan deduktif dengan metode diskusi, ceramah dan tanya jawab pada kelompok kontrol. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2011/2012.  Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cluster random sampling, sehingga diperoleh kelas XII IPA 1 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan XII IPA 2 sebagai kelompok kontrol.  Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, tes pilihan ganda, lembar observasi, dan dokumen sekolah. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan accelerated learning berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta baik pada ranah kognitif, afektif maupun psikomotorik.   Kata Kunci: pendekatan accelerated learning, hasil belajar biologi.

Abstract

Successful management of a national park cannot be separated from the role of government as the manager. Communities as partners of the government also have important contribution in the area management. Arising problems in the national park area are generally caused by disharmony relationship between the communities and the area manager. Communities support around national park through communities participation in the area management is necessary to preserve the sustainability of national park forest area. A variety of perception and involvement all stakeholders should be known to accommodate the interests of all stakeholders, so overlapping interests that harming one of the stakeholders can be avoided. Batang Gadis National Park (BGNP) is one of the national parks in Indonesia. To strengthen institutional BGNP Authority as area manager, this research is considered important to do. With communities perceptions to BGNP, expected to provide inputs for improvement of the BGNP management. This research aimed to know communities perceptions about BGNP management. The research is carried out on July 2017 at Sirambas Village. This qualitative research is conducted by interviewing informants who have been determined i.e. government official, village representative institution, public figure/religious figure, and communities. In addition to interview, researcher also observate, so the information obtained is suitable to the statement submitted with the reality in the field. Selection of informants in this research using non probability sampling method, i.e. purposive sampling method. The selected informants are people who are considered to have information or knowledge related to research object i.e. conservation sector. Furthermore, data are analyzed in a descriptive. The results showed that the communities perceptions of Sirambas Village to BGNP can be categorized into medium perception.

Abstract

The achievement of the seminar course is that students are expected to be able to discuss a Biology Education/Biology topic in depth and write it into a work in the form of problem solving ideas. The idea is packaged into one of Student Creativity Program/SCP (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa/PKM) which was developed for one semester in the Biology Education Seminar course. Descriptive research was conducted in the even semester of 2017/2018 in two classes consisting of 16 and 13 students of S1 Biology Education class of 2015. The results showed that each student managed to collect the PKM script consisting of 9 scripts of PKM Penelitian (Research SCP), 9 scripts of PKM Gagasan Tertulis (Written Ideas SCP), 7 scripts of PKM Kewirausahaan (Enterpreunership SCP), 2 scripts of PKM Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (Community Service SCP), and 2 scripts of PKM Karsa Cipta (Creative Work SCP). The topics of the collected PKM consists of 3 scripts on biology education topics, 23 scripts on biology topics, and 3 scripts on neither biology nor biology education topics. The scripts that were collected had not reached the expectation because most of the students chose topics in biology, not in biology Education. The quality of the submitted scripts has not met expectations because it was doubted whether they could compete to win the grant from the government. Based on the result, the learning challenge in this course is to improve the interest of the students to chooce biology education topics and the quality of PKM scripts so that they could compete to win the grant.

Abstract

Laundry industry increasingly prevalent in Malang as many students who want instant leaching process. Waste generated in the form detergent wastes directly discharged into waters such as rivers and pollute the water environment and disrupt the lives of aquatic one of tilapia. Components of detergent can cause a decrease in dissolved oxygen (DO) in the water. The low DO disrupt the process of respiration and metabolism in fish. As a result, higher mortality and physiology index values as parameters impaired metabolism of the fish. Therefore, this study  purpose to: 1) determine the influence of industrial wastes laundry detergent on mortality and physiological indices of nile tilapia (Orechromis niloticus); and 2) the concentration of industrial wastewater laundry detergent that what has the highest mortality rate. This research method is RAL 3 repetitions and 6 treatments (0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%). The design of the study is only Posttest Control Design. The results showed the influence of industrial wastes laundry detergent on mortality and physiological indices of nile tilapia. The highest mortality of nile tilapia at a concentration of 5% as much as 6 tails. While the CF concentration of 0% at 1.92; 1% of 1.97; 2% of 1.95; 3% of 1.69; 4% by 1.51; and 5% of 1.23. LSI value of 0% concentration of 0.23; 1% of 0.33; 2% 0,58; 3% of 0.50; 4% 0,58; and 5% of 0.67. GSI value of 0% concentration of 0.93; 1% of 0.21; 2% of 0.28; 3% of 0.14; 4% of 0.21; and 5% by 0.26. Physiology index can be used as a biomarker of environmental biology to determine the level of pollution in waste waters.Keywords : laundry industry waste, mortality, physiological indices, nile tilapia.
