Abstract

ABSTRAK   Hasil observasi pembelajaran di SMP Negeri 5 Surakarta khusus pada kelas VIII-F menunjukkan belum optimal dalam proses pembelajaran dan pemanfaatan potensi yang ada. Pembelajaran pada umumnya masih didominasi oleh guru.  Guru adalah satu-satunya sumber ilmu sehingga siswa cenderung pasif dan hanya mendengarkan apa yang disampaikan guru, akibatnya siswa tidak mengembangkan kemampuannya untuk menggali segala fenomena alam di bidang biologi. Kegiatan percobaan umumnya jarang dilakukan, apalagi keterlibatan dalam merancang percobaan. Percobaan umumnya sudah tersedia petunjuk pelaksanaan percobaan, sehingga siswa hanya membuktikan yang sudah tersedia pada petunjuk pelaksanaan percobaan. Akibatnya keterampilan siswa dalam merancang eksperimen masih kurang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan merancang eksperimen siswa kelas VIII F SMP Negeri 5 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2011/ 2012 melalui penerapan strategi Guided Inquiry. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang dilaksanakan dalam 4 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIIF SMP Negeri 5 Surakarta  tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui penyebaran angket pembelajaran dan observasi. Teknik analisis data adalah dengan teknik analisis deskriptif baik secara kualitatif maupun kuantitatif. Validasi data dengan menggunakan metode belah dua (split half method). Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa dengan pelaksanaan tindakan kelas melalui penerapan strategi Guided Inquiry dapat meningkatkan keterampilan merancang dan melaksanakan eksperimen dalam pembelajaran Biologi. Hal ini didasarkan pada hasil observasi. Prosentase capaian indikator keterampilan merancang eksperimen berdasarkan hasil observasi siklus I adalah 47,29 (meningkat 32,82%), siklus II 56,53 (meningkat 9,24%), siklus III 71,21 (meningkat 14,68%), dan siklus IV 75,03 (meningkat 3,82%). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi Guided Inquiry dapat meningkatkan keterampilan merancang eksperimen siswa kelas VIII F SMP Negeri 5 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2011/2012.   Kata kunci:  Keterampilan merancang eksperimen, Strategi Guided Inquiry.

Abstract

Application of learning community gives many positive impacts such as raising the attitude of caring fellow learners and improving the performance in the group when doing the investigation of a subject matter. Natural Sciences especially biology can not be separated from the investigation activities conducted through demonstration methods and experiments. Implementation of experiments can not be implemented individually, and this is one of the importancecauses of learning community form in the classroom. Through this forum, learners and educators feel helpful and have a shared responsibility to form a learning community that will impact on improving learning quality. This research is conducted by descriptive method with the subject is all students who are active in Biology Education study program. Objects in this study are students who have taken the Basic Teaching Skills Course and Teaching and Learning Strategy. Implementation is done through 3 stages of plan, do, and see (reflection). Learning process data obtained through observation sheet of learning process. While the student response to lesson study implementation obtained from the questionnaire. Descriptive data analysis by changing the score into percentage and categorized or interpreted to be Very Weak, Weak, Medium, Strong, and Very Strong. Based on data analysis, it is found that LSLC implementation process responseget 58% with medium category. Abstract

Abstract - The purpose of this study is to examine fermentation of chicken feather meal with Bacillus licheniformis B2560 to improve the quality of fish feed ingredients. The study was conducted using an experimental method to completely randomized design (CRD) 4 treatments, 3 replications, ie P0 = non- fermented ; P1 = 5 ml inoculum fermentation with B. licheniformis B2560 ; P2 = 10 ml inoculum fermentation with B. licheniformis B2560 ; and P3 = 15 ml inoculum fermentation with B. licheniformis B2560, respectively for chicken feather meal as much as 2 g .Parameters measured were the levels of protein and organoleptic parameters that support, in the form of the physical properties of chicken feather meal, include color, texture, and smell. Data were analyzed using a protein content analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a confidence level of 95 %, followed by Duncans Multiple Range Test Test (DMRT) with a confidence level of 95 % , while for the data results of the organoleptic qualitatively analyzed descriptively.The results showed that the P0 treatment was significantly different (P < 0.05) with P1, P2, and P3, and between treatments P1, P2, and P3 respectively were significantly different (P < 0.05). The treatment gives the best results is the treatment that P1 has the highest protein content of 84.08 % with a change in the physical properties of white -yellow (color), soft (texture), and less typical sting (smell). Keywords :Bacillus licheniformis B2560, fermentation, the quality of raw materials, chicken feather meal, Fish feed

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan kinerja mengajar dosen dan motivasi belajar dengan prestasi belajar pendidikan IPA di SD pada mahasiswa program D2 PGSD Kampus VI Kebumen FKIP UNS.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kampus VI Kebumen pada mahasiswa semester III Tahun Akademik 2009/2010. Populasi penelitian sebanyak 193 orang mahasiswa dan sampel diambil sebanyak 60 orang dengan teknik random sampling. Metode penelitian adalah metode diskriptif. Pengumpulan data dengan angket dan dokumenter. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis regresi linier multipel dan korelasi parsil.Hasil analisis data dihasilkan persamaan regresi y = 26, 0667 + 0, 1292 X1 + 0, 2193 X2. Fhitung dengan dk (2, 57) sama dengan 21, 3312 lebih besar dari Ftabel = 3, 14 dengan taraf signifikansi 5 %, artinya koefisien korelasi multipel tersebut berarti. Untuk uji keberartian koefisien regresi linier multipel ditunjukkan oleh harga thitung lebih besar dari ttabel dengan dk 57 pada taraf signifikansi 5 %. t1hitung  = 2, 1522; t2 hitung = 3, 9129; ttabel = 1, 67. Uji korelasi  parsil ditunjukkan oleh harga ry 1. 2 = 0, 3416; ry 2 . 1 = 0, 4659 dengan N = 60, rtabel = 0, 254. Dan thitung lebih besar dari ttabel, artinya koefisien korelasi parsil berarti. Besarnya sumbangan relatif dari kinerja mengajar dosen sebesar 28, 1162 % dan motivasi belajar 71, 8838 % dan sumbangan efektifnya 12, 0357 % dan 30, 7712 %.Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan positif antara kinerja mengajar dosen dan motivasi belajar dengan prestasi belajar pendidikan IPA di SD pada mahasiswa program D2 PGSD. Kinerja mengajar dosen memberikan sumbangan lebih kecil dibanding motivasi belajar. Kata Kunci: Kinerja Mengajar Dosen, Motivasi Belajar, Prestasi Belajar

Abstract

Research on the profile of high school students’ scientific literacy, aimed to reveal high school students’ ability based on scientific literacy aspects of cognitive and affective domain according to Scientific Literacy Assessment (SLA) instruments. This study used descriptive method. Based on SLA, high school students’ scientific literacy average in cognitive domain was considered as very poor (52.6), whereas in affective domain was considered as sufficient (62.5). In cognitive domain, aspect of scientific literacy with the lowest students’ mastery was scientific thinking and doing, while the highest was science and society. The lowest students’ mastery of scientific literacy aspect in affective domain was self-efficacy, while the highest was value of science.

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan pembelajaran yang terjadi di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) adalah minimnya variasi stategi pembelajaran dalam hal ini model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru untuk memfasilitasi hasil belajar  siswa, terutama hasil belajar kognitif tingkat tinggi yakni kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Berdasarkan kondisi ini maka tujuan penelitian ini ingin mengetahui pengaruh penerapana model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap hasil belajar kognitif tingkat tinggi.Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan disain pre tes postet control group. Analisis data menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa model pembelajaran problem based learning berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar biologi pada siswa SMA Negeri 5  kelas XI semester 1 materi sistem pencernaan pada manusia dengan nilai t hitung 2,60 lebih besar dari t tabel dengan nilai 1,84.  Adapun hasil belajar yang diukur adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah terkait masalah mengatasi gangguan  sistem pencernaan pada manusia.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disarankan bahwa sudah saatnya guru biologi di SMA 5 menerapkan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (problem based learning), karena hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa-siswa dapat mengikuti pembeajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (problem based learning).Kata kunci:        Model pembelajaran, Problem based learning, hasil belajar.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve understand the result study by using problem based learning of SMAN 8 Bengkulu. The study applied lesson study activity.  It can be concluded that by using problem-based learning in the form of lesson study activity can improve student’s activity and student’s learning outcomes in SMAN 8 Kota Bengkulu. Based on this research, it can be suggested for the teachers to develop lesson study activity to fix learning quality in order to improve their profesionalisme.Keywords: problem based learning, lesson study, learning result

Abstract

Learning style is one of the important elements in the learning process of students. Information about student learning styles will help teachers design appropriate learning so that students can more easily absorb, organize, and process information during the learning process. Learning following the character of students in the class will create joyful learning and influences student learning outcomes and abilities, including scientific literacy. This study aims to investigate the relationship between learning styles with student learning outcomes and scientific literacy. This research is descriptive survey research. This research was conducted at MTsN 1 Mataram and MTsN 2 Mataram. The research sample was 55 MTs students in Mataram who were selected non-randomly. The variables measured were learning styles, scientific literacy skills, and science learning outcomes. Learning styles in this study consist of visual, auditory, read/write, and kinesthetic (VARK). Learning styles were measured using the VARK questionnaire which was adapted from Neil D. Fleming's version 8.01 questionnaire which can be accessed through the VARK website. Scientific literacy in this research includes indicators (a) explaining phenomena scientifically, (b) assessing and designing scientific investigations, and (c) interpreting data and evaluating scientific evidence. Science literacy data were collected using a scientific literacy test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions that spread evenly on each indicator. The test instrument used in this study has gone through a validation process by experts. The collection of data on learning styles and scientific literacy carried out online using the Google Form by asking respondents to fill out a learning style questionnaire and to answer questions on the science literacy test. Science learning outcomes data obtained from the even semester science final exam scores. Analysis of the relationship between learning styles and scientific literacy used bivariate correlation, while the analysis of the effect of learning styles on learning outcomes and scientific literacy used ANACOVA.The results of the study indicated that the trend of auditory and kinesthetic learning styles correlated significantly with students' scientific literacy (p <0.05), whereas visual and reading/writing learning styles did not significantly correlate (p> 0.05). The type of learning styles does not have a different effect on student learning outcomes and scientific literacy, but scientific literacy has a significant influence on learning outcomes (p <0.05).

Abstract

The research was conducted to descript misconception and other mistake in genetics concept. The Method: by using the document of teacher competency testing 2012 Number 190-51 to analyze about the questions and the answers that related to genetics concept. After scrutinizing, each number is judged. The result revealed there are 11 questions related to genetic and four of them are good question, seven of them are incorrect include unclear questions, miss concept and do not have right answer. Keywords: misconception in genetic, teacher competency testing

Abstract

Sejak tahun 2009, Indonesia merupakan produsen terbesar dan eksportir minyak kelapa sawit di pasar dunia. Produksi minyak kelapa sawit Indonesia meningkat secara signifikan. Pada tahun 2012, Indonesia memproduksi 26,5  juta  ton minyak sawit. Potensi hayati dari minyak sawit tersebut sangat tinggi karena kandungan vitamin E (tokotrienol dan tokoferol) mencapai 600-1.000 ppm. Untuk memurnikannya, tersedia beberapa metode, bergantung tujuan (analitis/preparatif untuk mengisolasi tokoferol/tokotrienol) dan  kandungan  komponen kimiawi  (asam lemak, sterol, pigmen).  Pembahasan mengenai metode pemurnian vitamin E minyak sawit  tersebut masih sangat terbatas. Kajian ilmiah ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat efektifitas, efisiensi, kelebihan, dan  kekurangan berbagai metode  separasi/pemisahan maupun pemurnian/purifikasi.  Low temperature solvent crystallization dan supercritical fluid chromatography mampu menghasilkan ekstrak vitamin E konsentrasi tinggi, tetapi sangat dipengaruhi rasio pelarut dan materi tak tersaponifikasi, biaya mahal, resiko tinggi, dan peralatan khusus. Prosedur lain yaitu Thin Layer, Column, dan Gas Chromatography (pemisahan-identifikasi), High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph/HPLC (kombinatoris: pemisahan-identifikasi-purifikasi). Karena penerapannya lebih mudah, HPLC merupakan teknik yang lebih sering digunakan. Teknik HPLC menyajikan reproduktifitas yang baik, kolom sangat stabil, kuantitas reagen minimal, tidak toksik bagi teknisi dan lingkungan, dan dapat memisahkan isomer α, β, γ, δ tokoferol maupun tokotrienol.  Kata Kunci: Minyak Kelapa Sawit, Vitamin E, Purifikasi
