Abstract

ABSTRAK   Terbatasnya beberapa daya dukung satuan pendidikan, pembelajaran lingkungan hidup pada jenjang dasar di Kota Kediri masih dilaksanakan secara konvesional. Selain itu, kajian penggunaan kartu bridge dalam dunia pendidikan belum banyak dilakukan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menransformasikan fungsi kartu bridge menjadi media edukasi penanaman nilai lingkungan hidup untuk peserta didik sekolah dasar kelas 4 pada materi saling ketergantungan antar makhluk hidup dengan lingkungannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif - kualitatif. Sintesis produk diawali dari studi kasus yang dilanjutkan uji coba satu kali di SDN Mojoroto I, Kediri. Produk diujicobakan dan disempurnakan sebanyak tiga kali, pada tiga sekolah dasar berbeda di Kota Kediri (SDN Mojoroto II, SDN Blabak III, SDN Rejomulyo). Efektifitas metode diketahui dengan menggunakan indikator tes ranah kognitif dan afektif melalui pre dan post test, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji t berpasangan. Data ranah psikomotor diperoleh dengan observasi non partisipan dan terstruktur, selanjutnya dianalisis dengan membandingkan skor perolehan dengan skor kriterium kemudian dibandingkan dengan KKM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) nilai tes ranah kognitif (df=11, n=12) pada tahap pengujian I tidak signifikan (thit 1,185< ttabel 1,796), sedangkan tahap II dan III ada perbedaan yang signikan (secara berurutan: thit 2,4391 > ttabel 1,796 dan thit 2,3592 > ttabel 1,796) dengan rata-rata N-Gain tahap I, II, III sebesar 0,02; 0,08; dan 0,15; (2) hasil tes ranah afektif (df=11,n=12) pada tahap I, II, dan III menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan (pada ttabel 1,796) secara berurutan: 0,4939; 1,4776; 0,8013, sedangkan N-Gain nya berurutan 0; 0,08; 0,06; (3) ketuntasan ranah psikomotor  tahap I, II, III sebesar 85%, 85%, 83%. Adapun rata-rata validasi metode yang dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali sebesar 97,53. Kompleksitas aspek-aspek pembentukan nilai pada ranah afektif peserta didik menjadi salah satu faktor bahwa produk ini belum memberikan hasil yang lebih optimal pada ranah afektif.   Kata kunci:  bridge card game, pembelajaran lingkungan hidup, siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to prove: the administration of beluntas leaf tannins in influencing the structure of spermatozoa in male white rats. This type of research is true experimental. Number of samples of 12 male white ratsages 3 months, weight 150-200 g. Variable used, that is independent variable tannin beluntas leaf, dependent variable of spermatozoa structure of male white rat. The research stages are as follows: Group I is a control group, without being treated. Group II was divided into 2 treatments, namely the group was given beluntas leaf tannin and was given pure tannin at a dose of 0.8 ml 3 times a day. The treatment was repeated 3 times. Giving tannins of beluntas leaves given orally as much as 0.8 ml (an effective dose of tannins in inhibiting the fertilization of previous studies) for administration of 1 x dose to rat once daily for 49 days. Male white rat that had been treated were dissected and the vas deferent was taken and semen removed. Semen is observed with a microscope on the structure of the spermatozoa: the shape of the head, neck and tail. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitative. The research data shows that the same size and shape on head, neck, spermatozoa tail from the control treatment, pure tannin and tannin beluntas. The findings of this study of pure tannin and beluntas leaf tannin did not affect the structure of the spermatozoa.

Abstract

Abstract- Kapulasan is a unique tropical fruit.  Morphological and agronomical variation of the fruit has not been known.  The aim of this study was to obtain some variants of fruit that have superior characteristics such as hight fruit weight, sweet and thick aril, and fleaking aril.   Thirty fruit variants was observed their morphological and agronomical characters based on the descriptor of rambutan.  The results showed that the average of fruit weight is 50.4 g, a collection from Gunung Batu village has the highest fruit weight (103.5 g), while a collection from Makam Bodas village has the lowest fruit weight (23.1 g).  The oBrix variation of kapulasan fruit ranged from 18.4 - 29.6, while the content of vitamin C ranged 3.5 - 5.6 mg/100g.  There are four variants with superior fruit. Keywords:kapulasan, Nephelium ramboutan-ake, morphological and agronomical character

Abstract

ABSTRAK Berbagai bakteri yang terdapat dalam air limbah sungai dapat menyebabkan penyakit yang merusak kehidupan makhluk hidup. Tingkat pencemaran badan air di sungai Ngringo sebagai akibat dampak industri yang berkembang pesat di Kabupaten Karanganyar terutama dari limbah industri tekstil. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya analisis parameter biologis pada daerah aliran sungai Ngringo up stream dan down stream terhadap padatan terapung, derajat keasaman, senyawa organik dan Biochemical Oxygen Demand dengan metode analisa fisik dan kimia. Dari hasil analisa diperoleh kondisi sungai Ngringo up stream derajat keasaman 7,9, total residu terlarut 340 mg/lt,  total residu tersuspensi 23 mg/lt, senyawa organik phenol 280 mg/lt dan Biochemical Oxygen Demand 8,758 mg/lt yang menunjukkan banyaknya oksigen yang dibutuhkan organisme untuk menghancurkan bahan organik pada waktu tertentu. Sedangkan analisa down stream sungai Ngringo derajat keasaman 7,65, total residu terlarut 326 mg/lt,  total residu tersuspensi 37 mg/lt, senyawa organik phenol <1 mg/lt dan Biochemical Oxygen Demand 4,71 mg/lt.Kondisi badan air sungai Ngringo sebagai dampak limbah industri tekstil menandakan up stream sungai Ngringo sifat keasamannya lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan down stream sungai Ngringo. Dengan mengetahui sifat alkalinitas air limbah, maka dapat di hitung jumlah bahan kimia yang harus ditambahkan dalam proses pengolahan air limbah tersebut yang memegang peran penting dalam penentuan kemampuan badan air dalam mendukung pertumbuhan ganggang dan organisme perairan lainnya dan menandakan semakin banyaknya organisme yang ada di perairan, akan mengakibatkan pertumbuhan ganggang dan tumbuhan perairan lainnya meningkat berarti tingkat pencemaran lebih tinggi sehingga jumlah populasi bakteri relatif tinggi didukung oleh jumlah Biochemical Oxygen Demand yang tinggi. Sehingga menyebabkan kualitas badan air menurun. Akibatnya banyak ikan-ikan mati dan menimbulkan bau yang tidak sedap. Hal ini  menandakan kondisi badan air di up stream sungai Ngringo telah tercemar jika dibandingkan dengan kondisi badan air down stream sungai Ngringo. Kata Kunci : Dampak Industri, Sungai Ngringo, Parameter Biologis,

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian tentang “Jenis-Jenis Nyamuk Dan Dominansinya Pada Berbagai Kawasan Rawa di Desa Baet Kecamatan Baitussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar” telah dilakukan pada tanggal 9 sampai dengan 18 Januari 2011. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi  jenis-jenis nyamuk dan dominansinya pada berbagai kawasan rawa di Desa Baet Kecamatan Baitussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksplorasi. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara purposive sampling pada 3 kawasan rawa yang berbeda, yaitu rawa bersampah, rawa yang ditumbuhi oleh rumput obor (Typha aqustifolia), dan rawa bersih. Masing-masing rawa ditetapkan 6 titik pengamatan pada bagian pinggir rawa. Pengambilan data dilakukan pagi (08.00-12.00), siang (14.00-18.00), dan malam hari (19.00-24.00 dan 01.00-06.00) sebanyak 4 kali dalam sehari selama 6 hari. Parameter yang diamati adalah jenis nyamuk pada berbagai kawasan rawa di Desa Baet Kecamatan Baitussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar dan parameter lingkungan (suhu dan pH). Hasil penelitian ditemukan 7 spesies nyamuk yang terdiri dari Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus, Armigeres subalbatus, Anopheles sundaicus, Culex sitiens, Culex quinquefasciatus, dan Mansonia annulata. Berdasarkan analisis indeks dominansi pada setiap rawa diketahui bahwa, Culex quinquefasciatus mendominansi pada rawa bersampah; Mansonia uniformis mendominansi pada rawa yang ditumbuhi oleh rumput obor (Typha aqustifolia); dan Culex quinquefasciatus mendominansi pada rawa bersih   Kata kunci : Jenis, Dominansi, Nyamuk, Kawasan, Rawa, Baet.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills is a skills that need to be empowered in the face of life in the 21st century. Critical thinking skills are skills to think reflectively and reasonable to decide what is believed. Critical thinking skills can be empowered toward learning activities. One of the learning activities that can empower critical thinking skills is Remap CS (Reading Concept Map Cooperative Script) that used in biology lesson. Remap CS learning model has a syntax that can empower critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study is to empower students’s critical thinking skills in biology matter by using Remap CS learning model. This type of research is quasi experimental with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The study was conducted in science class of X4 and X1 SMA Negeri 1 Batu. Data obtained from the critical thinking skills test results were analyzed using the description rubric developed by Zubaidah, et al. (2015). The test results analyzed with Anacova and further by using LSD. The results showed that Remap CS learning model can empower students's critical thinking skills in the subject of biology.Keywords: Critical thinking skills, Remap CS

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a valid and reliable instrument to be used for measuring high school students’ attitude toward environment. A six-step model was used in the development of instrument adoption of Ugulu et al (2013). These stages are development of item pool, validation of item pool, taking expert opinions, pilot testing, administration of the instrument, and calculating validity and reliability of instrument. This instrument contains of eight dimensions, covers on attitude toward people, attitude toward flora and fauna, attitude toward earth, attitude toward water, attitude toward air, attitude toward land, and attitude toward waste. Validation stage was submitted to one environmental expert, one pedagogic expert, two high school biology teachers, and two faculty members. The pilot testing of instrument has been carried out with a group of 30 students. Widely pilot testing involves 60 students. Results of this study show that twenty five items fit to use for measuring high school students’ environmental attitude. Twenty five item consist of positive item and negative item in eight dimensions on five-point Likert type scale. The alpha Cronbach coefficient is 0,668. According to these findings, it can be concluded that instrument is a valid and reliable that can be used to measure environment attitude of high school students.Keywords:assessment, environmental attitude, senior high school student

Abstract

The development of technology in the 21st century demands to use of technology in learning. However, it should apply contextual learning based on the surrounding environment. The misappropriation of technology and the lack of green areas in the school environment caused biology learning on bryophyte to be hampered. The use of technology in learning can create a fun atmosphere by combining the local potential and technology advancement. This innovation can be realized through developing learning media called MARBLE application. This study aims to: 1) utilize the potential of Tahura Mangkunagoro I for bryophyte learning, 2) produce the new learning media that is MARBLE application, 3) examine the advisability of MARBLE application. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D). This research applies the ADDIE model developed by Branch (2009) which consists of 5 stages, namely: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The stages are carried out until the development stage because this study aims to determine the perceptions of teachers and students about the MARBLE application. The research was conducted from January to July 2020. The research was conducted in Tahura as a bryophyte sampling location.  MARBLE feasibility testing was conducted by three media experts, three material experts, one learning expert, and three biology teachers. Data collection was conducted by using a questionnaire. The technique of data analysis was descriptive quantitative obtained from the results of the questionnaire. The results showed that the MARBLE application was declared valid by material experts with a percentage of about 81.7%, media experts with a percentage of about 90%, and biology teachers with a percentage of about 90.3%. The average of all percentages is 87.42% with the most validcategory

Abstract

This study aims to examine teh effect of static, dynamic, and static dynamic media to conceptual understanding of students grade XI. The participant were selected using a cluster sampling and selected samples were class scince 3, science 5, science 6, and science 7. Science 7 as control class, Science 3 as first experiment class that use static media, Science 5 as second experiment class(dynamic media), and science 6 as third experiment class with static-dynamic media. The total participants were 148 students. Learning was focused on the topic of human reproductive system. The conceptual understanding of students was assesed by two-tier test at the end of experiment. Data was analyzed analyzed by One Way ANOVA test with α = 0.05,  and further tested with Duncan test. The results are (1) there is an effect of type of media used to the conceptual understanding of students; (2) static-dynamic media shows the highest score. It is concluded that static-dynamic media can be recommended to apply in the biology class, particularly on human reproductive system

Abstract

Styrofoam yang selama ini kita gunakan mengandung berbagai macam zat berbahaya dan terbukti tidak ramah lingkungan karena sangat sulit untuk diuraikan. Salah satu solusi untuk mengurangi penggunaan Styrofoam ini yaitu dengan menggunakan biodegradable foam yang berbahan dasar dari pati biji alpukat (Persea Americana Mill.). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui karakteristik biodegradable foam dari pati biji alpukat dengan penambahan kitosan dan serat ijuk aren (Arenga pinnata). Pembuatan Biodegradable Foam dibuat dengan menggunakan metode baking process, yaitu dengan memanaskan adonan pada suhu 125 OC selama 1 jam didalam oven. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan variasi konsentrasi kitosan dalam campuran adonan yaitu 0%,10%, 30%, 50%. Parameter penelitian yang digunakan meliputi uji penyerapan air, uji kuat tarik, dan uji degradasi. Pada penelitian ini, data yang diperoleh akan dianalisa secara statistik dengan menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dengan taraf uji 5%. Dari hasil yang didapat menunjukan bahwa perlakuan terbaik yang didapat yaitu perlakuan dengan konsentrasi kitosan 50% dengan daya serap air sebesar 9,72%.
