Abstract

Background: Endogamy is an ancient matrimonial practice deeply rooted in the population culture. It involves choosing a spouse from the same group who shares common conditions. This type of alliance is dictated by socio-cultural, socio-economic and geographical conditions. Aim: This paper examines endogamous marriage among the Moroccan population of Doukkala. Method: A survey was conducted among 1361 couples from the Doukkala region. Geographical endogamy in this population was determined by using a questionnaire that collected data on the place of birth, the place of residence before and after the marriage of the couples studied. Findings: The endogamy in the Moroccan population of Doukkala reaches 84.79%. The level of this marital behavior in rural areas is 87.34% compared to 60.57% registered in urban areas. The intergenerational evolution of endogamy reaches high levels in the first (92.84%) and second (91.02%) generations compared to the last generation (58.56%).

Abstract

Background: The negative impact of malnutrition is generally associated with impaired motor development, behavioural and cognitive development which results in decreased learning achievement and social skills. Aim: The purpose of this study was to examine the situation of child development and to assess the role of various factors related to the development of children under five years of age in various ecosystem zones in Papua Province. Method: The research was carried out in four districts in Papua representing three ecosystem zones, namely the mainland coast, the middle plains and the mountains. Data was collected through structured interviews, observations and field measurements. Analysis of the differences in variables between ecosystem zones used the smallest significant difference test and the Kruskal Wallis test. Meanwhile, the analysis of the impact of malnutrition on children's development used Structural Equation Modelling-Regression with a partial least square approach using the SmartPLS version 3.2.9 application. Findings: The prevalence of Papuan children suffering from developmental delays reached 77.7%, especially in language development, fine motor adaptive, and personal social. An increase in the degree of malnutrition in the form of stunting suppresses the development of children to be low, while an increase in the degree of sickness in children has the potential to worsen the degree of malnutrition by suppressing the nutritional intake of children to be low.

Abstract

Background: Despite living in the modern era, the level of Indonesian students’ technology literacy is still low, especially in the stage of junior high school. Aim: This research attempts to investigate what 21st century English as Foreign Language (EFL) textbook need in order to develop students’ technology literacy since the book is the most recognized medium for learning and being technology literate will also help students learn English better. Method: The textbook chosen for this research is the one published by the Ministry of Education, When English Rings a Bell, for grade 8 of junior high school. As for the data, they were taken from every chapter’s directions. They were analysed by implementing content analysis to detect the presence of technology literacy indicators in the textbook’s directions. Findings: Based on the results of the analysis, EFL textbook directions need the author’s initiative to modify them so that they can fit the ICT development indicators by adding more sentences related to applying presentation software usage and sharing information through online platforms. It is because the more literate the students in operating, accessing, managing, integrating, and evaluating modern technologies, especially ICT, the bigger their chances become in learning English successfully.

Abstract

Background: When the child is present in the family, parents will want their child to be able to develop normally either physically or mentally, so that parents have their own way of treating children. There are parents who give freedom to children on the grounds that children can develop their potential and there are also those who are too afraid that their children are in dangerous or over protective conditions. Aim: This study aims to see the relationship between parents' overprotective perceptions  of adolescent self-adjustment in grade VII MTs Darul Ihsan Aceh Besar students. Method: The type of research used in this study is quantitative research because the final data analysis is carried out with statistical tests. The data of this study is in the form of numbers analyzed using statistics processed with the SPSS 2.0 for Windows program. Findings: From the results of data analysis and previous discussions, it can be concluded that there is a very significant positive relationship between the perception of overprotective parents and adolescent self-adjustment in grade VII students in the MTsN Model Banda Aceh. From the results of the analysis, this study has a correlation efficiency of r = 0.593 with a p value =   0.000, meaning that the relationship between the two variables is very significant if p < 0.05.  From these results, it shows that the higher the perception of overprotective parents, the higher the adolescent self-adjustment. On the other hand,  the lower the perception  of overprotective parents, the lower the adolescent self-adjustment in grade VII MTsN Model Banda Aceh students.

Abstract

Background: Timor Tengah Selatan is home to some of the most common malnutrition problems in Indonesia. The high rate of stunting in Timor Tengah Selatan is caused by food availability, climate and lack of knowledge about stunting itself. Additionally, the rural nature of the region, its high water demand, poor road infrastructure, and lack of visibility for health workers are significant factors. Therefore, there is a need for efforts to achieve success in fighting stunting, one of which is the strategy of developing freshwater fish farming to overcome stunting in Timor Tengah Selatan. Aim: The research would like to analyze strategies in developing freshwater fish farming to prevent stunting in Timor Tengah Selatan. Method: This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research, while data collection techniques are carried out by exploring journals and other information relevant to the study. Findings: The results of the study show that the strategy for developing freshwater fish farming to overcome stunting in Timor Tengah Selatan is by increasing business and creating additional income for the community as well as encouraging the development of freshwater aquaculture to replace the decline in marine fish during difficult times.  It will improve the economy of the region which is also supported by an increase in fishermen's income.

The data needed were collected by means of in-depth interviews, observations, documentation. Findings: The government seeks to overcome stunting in Kupang, TTS and Manggarai Regencies by empowering the community through several stages such as the first stage, namely making the community aware of the importance of increasing self-capacity, in the second stage, namely the transformation stage, opening people's insights in the form of basic knowledge and skills about the role taken in development in the household and in the community.
