Abstract

Introduction: Breast milk is an ideal nutrition for babies which contains the most suitable nutrients for the baby's needs and contains a set of protective substances to fight disease. The success of exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by a mother's intention to give exclusive breastfeeding, but currently the influence of formula milk promotion is very large and affects the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding. Objective: to determine the relationship between promotion of formula milk and the intention of exclusive breastfeeding in infants aged 0-6 months.  Methods: This type of research is descriptive analytic with a cross sectional design. Result and Discussion: There is a relationship between the promotion of formula milk and the mother's intention to provide exclusive breastfeeding to infants aged 0-6 months in the Working Area of ??the Tering Public Health Center in West Kutai Regency in 2022 with a p value of 0.000 and OR = 28.500. Promotion of formula milk that is carried out on a large scale can affect the mother's intention to give exclusive breastfeeding because the promotion of formula milk gives a wrong understanding that formula milk is as good as exclusive breastfeeding.  Conclusion: promotion of formula milk can affect the intention of exclusive breastfeeding in infants aged 0-6 months

Abstract

Introduction: The complexity of the problems experienced by patients who are installed on ventilators, health workers, especially nurses, need to provide comprehensive nursing care and improve caring attitudes in patients with critical l conditions who are attached to ventilators. Objective: This study aims to dig deeper into the experience of patients who have been installed on ventilators in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Room of the Sumedang Regional General Hospital in 2019. Method: Design of the research method used is a qualitative method through a phenomenological approach with samples taken purposively.  Result and Discussion:  Analyst results a theme from the in-depth interview showed that the experiences of patients who have been put on ventilators include: 1) Psychological Responses: linu, feeling stabbed, thirsty, fear, sadness, between conscious and unconscious, added tightness, sleeplessness, feelings of hopelessness, confusion, between believing or not, unable to breathe, anxious, rebelling, nightmares, stinging, itch worried, upset, uncomfortable, tormented. 2) Patient Support: internal support: child and lukewarm, external support: Health workers (nurses). Conclusion: From the research that was found that the expressions of the 3 participants were appropriate and some were not in accordance with the theory / concept of patients who had been put on ventilators. So, a good, honest, and communicative nurse role is needed in meeting the needs of patients who are attached to ventilators holistically and plenary

Abstract

Introduction: Anesthesia is an action to relieve pain during surgery and various other procedures that cause pain in the body, there are several anesthesia actions including general and spinal anesthesia but the anesthesia action causes some side effects. Objective: This study aims to determine the comparison of side effects of spinal anesthesia and general anesthesia in postoperative patients. Method: The research design used in this study is a comparative study with the type of descriptive research. Population The population in this study was patients under spinal anesthesia and general anesthesia. Result and Discussion: Based on the results of statistical analysis of the Chi-square test, it shows that there is a significant comparison in both types of anesthesia used for surgery, namely general narcose anesthesia and spinal anesthesia on postoperative side effects with a value of (p-value = 0.026).  Conclusion: The conclusion of two different types of anesthesia shows significant differences due to differences in the way of administration of anesthetic drugs and the doses given so that they get different side effects. Advice in using the type of anesthesia must be considered the type of surgery to be performed as little as possible must reduce the side effects obtained by the patient.

Abstract

Introduction: Onion and ginger have been widely used as painkillers empirically. Its use is always associated with administration by mouth rather than application to the skin. Elderly people often experience joint pain in connection with their aging condition or because of the disease they suffer. Objective: This literature study is to determine the effectiveness of giving onion and ginger as pain relievers in topical administration to joint pain areas. Method: literature study with inclusion criteria, namely: articles including primary literature, articles in English or Indonesian, articles containing onion for topical joint pain, articles containing ginger for topical joint pain, research articles available in full text, and articles in the form of original articles. Result and Discussion: Three journals were found with a total of 101 elderly respondents suffering from joint pain. Given shallot compresses, 10% and 20% ginger cream, and ginger plaster Measurement of the pain scale by means of the visual analog scale and the WOMAC questionnaire The results showed that all groups of shallot compresses, 10% and 20% ginger cream, and ginger plaster reduced the joint pain of elderly respondents compared to the control group. Conclusion: Based on the literature study conducted, it is concluded that the administration of onion and ginger is effective for reducing joint pain in the elderly in all types of topical administration, whether given in the form of compresses, extract creams, or plasters

Abstract

Introduction: Diarrhea is the occurrence of defecation with a more liquid consistency than usual with a frequency of three times or even more within 24 hours. The incidence of diarrhea is related to factors such as water sources, toilet facilities, hand washing behavior, knowledge, and waste management. Objective: The aim of the study was to determine the risk factors associated with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the working area of ??the Pamenang Health Center, Merangin Regency in 2022. Method: Using the chi-square method, the observational analytic case control approach. The sample in the study used a 1:1 ratio with a total sample of 85 cases and 85 control samples. Result and Discussion: The results of this study showed that the variable p-value of clean water was 0.001 with OR 0.146, the variable of toilet facilities was p-value 0.003 with OR 0.171, the variable of hand washing behavior was p-vacue 0.000 with OR 0.159, the mother's knowledge variable was p-value 0.017 with OR 0.292, landfill variable p-value 0.846 with OR 1.078. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a correlation between clean water sources, toilet facilities, hand washing behavior, mother's knowledge, and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the working area of ??the Pamenang Health Center.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder caused by abnormalities in insulin secretion and an imbalance between insulin supply and demand. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), diabetes mellitus is better known as Xiao Ke. In TCM, Xiao Ke disease is caused by internal heat exhaustion deficiency, and one of the traditional treatments for diabetes is the herbal Huang Qi (Radix astragali). Method: This research is a case study, where the researcher makes an in-depth observation of the use of Huang Qi herbs in diabetes mellitus patients. Result and Discussion: The results of diabetes treatment in the initial observation of the patient's blood sugar were 152 mg/dL, and in week 4, it decreased to 86 mg/dL. Isoflavonoids, saponins, and polysaccharides are the three main types of beneficial compounds that have pharmacological activity and therapeutic efficacy in many diseases, one of which is diabetes. In TCM, Huang Qi is beneficial for tonifying Qi and strengthening Yang in spleen Qi deficiency so that the spleen can increase its effectiveness in transformation and transportation. Conclusion: The results of the treatment of diabetes mellitus, or Xiao Ke, using Huang Qi herbs are proven to be able to reduce blood sugar levels in diabetics.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by multi-factorial and intergenerational with causative factors such as malnutrition experienced by mothers during pregnancy, poverty, underage maternal pregnancy, IUGR, premature or premature birth, and babies born with low birth weight. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the history of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) and Anemia in mothers under five with the incidence of stunting in toddlers (24-59 Months) in Sungai Mengkuang Village, Bungo Regency in 2022. Method: The type of research is quantitative  with a cross sectional design, with a population of all mothers under five in Sungai Mengkuang Village, with sampling techniques using Purposive sampling techniques. The data obtained were analyzed by the Chi-Square test. Result and Discussion: The Chi-square test shows that there is a relationship between the history of CED, Anemia, Knowledge, and Parenting in mothers under five with the incidence of stunting in toddlers (24-59 months) in Sungai Mengkuang Village in 2022 with P-Value values of 0.001, 0.006, 0.012  , 0.002 respectively and there is no relationship between the attitude of mothers under five towards CED and anemia with the incidence of stunting in toddlers (24-59 months) in Sungai Mengkuang Village in 2022 (P-Value 0.606). Conclusion: In this study, there is a relationship between CED, anemia, knowledge, and parenting with the incidence of stunting in toddlers (24-59 months) in Sungai Mengkuang Village in 2022, and attitudes are not related

Abstract

Introduction: Street harassment phenomenon such as cat-calling, breast-grabbing, and stalking are increasingly occurring in Indonesia. The increasingly widespread phenomenon of street harassment creates a unsecure and discomfort for the community and causes a decrease in level of self-esteem for the victims. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of experience of street harassment on the level of self-esteem in Indonesian women in the emerging adulhood group. Method: This study uses a quantitative approach with survey data collection. The participants of this study is 100 female aged 18-25 years old. The measuring instruments used were the 8 item Street Harassment Scale (SHS) that had been modified and the 10 item Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) designed. Data analysis used in this research is simple regression analysis and performed by Jamovi 2.3.21. Result and Discussion: As much as 60% of the level of self-esteem in victims of street harassment can be explained by the experience of street harassment (R Square = 0,605). Conclusions: From the results of research data analysis, it is known that there is a role of experience of street harassment on the level of self-esteem in women in the young adult age group

Abstract

Introduction: Elderly are individuals aged 60 years and over. Sleep disturbance is a common problem that is often experienced by many elderly people. As they get older, their sleep patterns tend to change. Sleep disturbances in the elderly can be in the form of difficulty sleeping, maintaining sleep, frequent awakenings, and waking up early in the morning. The prevalence of sleep disorders in Indonesia is quite high, reaching 67%, while in the elderly it can reach up to 50% who experience some form of sleep disturbance. Objective: Of this study was to determine the application of sleep hygiene and exercise for the elderly against sleep disorders in the elderly. Method: The writing method used in this case study is a case study with a nursing care approach. Results and Discussion: Obtained after nursing care for 3 meetings were that the sleep patterns of the elderly improved as evidenced by the decrease in the results of the PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) study. Conclusion: It can  be concluded that the elderly who experience sleep pattern disorders can be given intervention or non-pharmacological therapy in the form of the application of sleep hygiene and elderly gymnastics

Abstract

Introduction: School Health Business is a public health business carried out in schools with students and the school community. Objective: The purpose of this SHB program is to improve the quality of education and learning achievement of students who pay attention to healthy behavior and living environment. Method: This study uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive observational approach. Result and Discussion: The results of this study in the aspect of health education Health education was provided from the Public Health Center, but it did not run optimally, because it was not continued continuously and not all schools had the opportunity to attend small doctor training in health education efforts. Conclusion:  Health education is not optimal because not all schools can conduct counseling independently and small doctor training is not entirely given to ES in Siulak Mukai District, Health services are not optimal, because facilities and infrastructure are not adequate in some of the schools studied, not all ES in Siulak Mukai District have a healthy school environment.
