Literatify : Trends in Library Developments is an academic journal that publishes the current issues regarding library developments. The journal is a bi-annual publication that is officially organized and published by UPT Perpustakaan in collaboration with Jurusan Ilmu Perpustakaan UIN Alauddin Makassar. The journal is provided for librarians, subject analysts, library science students, information specialists, information managers, researchers who need or are interested in keeping up to date with the most recent issues and developments in libraries. We regularly publish the issues in March and September. The journal only accepts research-based papers. All submitted papers will initially review by journal editors and if it was matched with the journal scope, the paper will be then sent to our peer-reviewers. We only accept manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

Abstract

Disability services in libraries at the provincial level are critical for promoting equal access, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring that libraries are welcoming spaces for everyone in thecommunity, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. This study aims to identify the strategy of Modern Regional Library South East Sulawesi Province Library on Managing Disability Service.Thus, this study used a qualitative method. For qualitative data collection techniques, conducting interviews with librarians of Modern Regional South East Province and fivelibrarians in that library. In conclusion, The first, the financial strategy carried out is good but currently Modern libraries have not focused on disability services which should also need attention. The second, the facility management strategy is also not optimal because the facilities provided are still very lacking while there are many visitors for disability services, especially from the Special School (Disability School) in Kendari city often send official letterss to the library to make visits. Libraries need to create an inclusive and welcoming space for all members of the community. The third, libraries in charge of disability services are still lacking and there are no special librarians who can speak sign language. This indicates that libraries also need to maximize their Human Resources management strategies. Finally, the library organization development strategy actually has plans for disability services in the future and partners with the national library of Indonesia, and companies in the city of Kendari to improve disability services, but still needs careful planning so that in the future library services can be accessed by people with special needs with adequate facilities.

Abstract

Dosen memerlukan berbagai macam sumber informasi untuk pengajaran dan penelitian, dengan tujuan memberikan dampak pengetahuan dan pengembangan diri mahasiswa. Agar pembelajaran dapat berlangsung, dosen dan mahasiswa khususnya calon professional Informasi lulusan Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi harus mempunyai akses dan menggunakan sumber informasi yang diperlukan secara memadai. Cara paling efektif untuk memobilisasinya adalah melalui penyediaan sumber informasi yang dibutuhkan di perpustakaan perguruan tinggi. Perpustakaan membantu dosen mencapai tujuan untuk menghasilkan mahasiswa yang melek informasi dan siap menghadapi pendidikan seumur hidup. Oleh karena itu, perpustakaan harus menyediakan akses terhadap sumber daya perpustakaan yang tersedia dan dukungan profesional ahli untuk memfasilitasi pemanfaatan sumber daya ini secara efektif. Sumber daya perpustakaan berisi informasi dalam format cetak dan non-cetak seperti buku cetak, jurnal, indeks, surat kabar dan majalah, laporan, internet, dan lain-lain. Sumber daya perpustakaan merupakan bahan mentah yang memberikan layanan vital dalam proses belajar mengajar. Sumber daya perpustakaan penting bagi penyusunan rencana pembelajaran semester oleh dosen dan bagi kemajuan pendidikan guna mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang telah ditetapkan. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, sumber daya perpustakaan harus dapat diakses oleh dosen pada waktu yang tepat dalam format yang sesuai. Artikel ini mensurvei metode pengajaran dan pemanfaatan sumber informasi perpustakaan di kalangan mahasiswa Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Islam, Fakultas Adab dan Humaniora UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian survei deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simple random sampling dengan memilih 244 responden dari total populasi 350 responden yang datanya diambil dari 70% responden yang dijadikan sampel. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Data yang dikumpulkan dari responden digunakan penghitungan frekuensi dan mean.

Abstract

The students in Library and Information Science Study Program, Universitas Padjadjaran, as the next librarian. They learn concept, characteristics, type of literacy, utilization literacy in all library, and specific skill for students. The purpose this research is to know collaboration model for literacy educator with community reading centers at Bandung and Sumedang Regency. Research method used action research through qualitative approach. Result research, students exposed to the collaboration model demonstrate improved literacy skills and increased enthusiasm for reading, as evidenced by enhanced reading levels and greater participation in literacy programs. The community reading centers themselves have transformed into vibrant hubs for learning, cultural exchange, and community engagement, guided by principles of inclusivity, diversity, and strong partnerships. Nevertheless, this research acknowledges certain challenges, such as constraints in sample size and external factors affecting the results. Future research should delve deeper into the specific elements of the Collaboration Model contributing most significantly to its success, providing a more nuanced understanding of its effects. In conclusion, this study underscores the potential of the Collaboration Model as a transformative force in the field of educator literacy within community reading centers. It promotes ongoing collaboration, professional development, and community engagement, culminating in improved literacy skills among educators and students. These positive effects extend beyond the reading centers, enriching the entire community. This research underscores the importance of further investigation and investment in collaborative models, as they play a pivotal role in advancing literacy and lifelong learning within the community.

Abstract

Era baru big data mempercepat perkembangan teknologi informasi, media sosial telah menjadi bagian integral dari kehidupan masyarakat sehari-hari dan mengubah carakomunikasi antar individu. Saat ini media sosial telah diterapkan pada pendidikan di banyak disiplin ilmu, tidak terkecuali pendidikan Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi. Pendidikan IlmuPerpustakaan dan Informasi Islam di Indonesia telah mengalami perubahan besar, yang lebih diperlukan adalah meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasidengan bantuan produk-produk berteknologi tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan media sosial dan perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa IlmuPerpustakaan UIN Imam Bonjol Padang dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif, dengan pendekatan metode penelitian survei deskriptif. Populasi terdiridari 423 mahasiswa aktif Prodi Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Islam. Analisis Data menggunakan analisis Statistik deskriptif dari persentase dalam menyajikan data. Dalampenelitian ini ditemukan bahwa mahasiswa Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Islam UIN Imam Bonjol Padang sering menggunakan media sosial untuk pencarian informasi dan mediasosial telah menjadi sumber informasi yang dapat diandalkan bagi mereka. Terlepas dari tantangan yang teridentifikasi, disimpulkan bahwa media sosial memiliki pengaruh terhadapperilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran di UIN Imam Bonjol Padang.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to find out how the implementation of library marketing and information services carried out by the Tengku Anis Library UiTM Kelantan. The method used is a literature study of scientific articles relevant to the topic and observation on the Tengku Anis Library website. The results show that library marketing activities and information services are carried out by Tengku Anis Library. One of the media is the official website as a form of their adaptation to technological developments. In conducting information marketing activities, the process starts from analyzing market opportunities, selecting target markets, developing a marketing mix, and developing marketing strategies and managing marketing programs. They have implemented these four steps so that the marketing process until the product reaches the library users can take place well. However, there is one thing that is still lacking in the process, which is the relatively lacking aspect of market segmentation. The author recommends conducting more specific market segmentation activities so that the intended market is more appropriate so that the product can be used evenly.

Abstract

Digital libraries and search engines like Google are two primary sources of information in the ever-evolving digital era. Both play a crucial role in providing access to knowledge and information to individuals worldwide. Digital libraries represent a revolutionary innovation in the world of libraries. They store and grant access to various types of library materials in digital formats, including e-books, electronic journals, databases, audio, and video. Digital libraries are accessible online through the internet, enabling users to search, read, and download these resources from anywhere and at any time. Digital libraries excel in offering extensive and diverse collections and facilitate efficient searches. Google is one of the largest and most popular search engines globally. As a search engine, Google serves as a powerful tool for information retrieval on the internet. Users can input keywords or queries, and Google provides relevant results from various websites worldwide. Google also offers various related services, such as Google Scholar for searching scholarly literature and Google Books for searching and reading books online. This search engine has become the primary gateway for many people seeking information online. The importance of information literacy in the digital era cannot be overlooked. Information literacy is the ability to access, evaluate, use, and contribute to information critically and effectively. In the digital age characterized by abundant access to information from various online sources, information literacy becomes more relevant and essential than ever before. Developing information literacy in the future will involve numerous challenges but also offers significant opportunities. With an understanding of these challenges and opportunities, we can plan more effectively to promote and enhance information literacy in this ever-changing era. This article may discuss the impact of digital libraries and search engines like Google on information literacy in the future.

Abstract

Teacher Librarian is usually a teacher who also acts or is responsible as a librarian in the school library. Teachers who have a minimum education in the field of library science Diploma two (D-II) at an accredited university or complete a minimum Diploma two (D-II) education which is then continued with training and learning in the library field. However, in Indonesia there is often a phenomenon of teacher-librarians who do not have scientific provision in the library field so that in some cases in real life, the management of the library system becomes less than optimal and cannot be utilized by users properly. In contrast to other countries, it is known that many schools in Europe use teacher-librarians as school library staff. This is so that teacher-librarians can collaborate with teachers to improve the quality of learning as well as the literacy skills of their students. School libraries should also have interesting and effective programs because this can affect students' learning achievement. Lifelong Learning is learning that is carried out throughout life without coercion on one's part to improve their abilities and knowledge so that they can create good competitiveness for their environment. Students who act as lifelong learners need proper guidance, namely with the help of Teacher-Librarians and also teaching teachers during the learning process. This article uses a literature review method that critically reviews ideas or findings in academically oriented literature.

Abstract

This study aims to determine digital communication that has an important role for librarians. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative research, descriptive qualitative research which is meant by using literature study. Researchers collect research data through reading and recording and processing library materials. The results showed that digital communication has a very important role for modern librarians by utilizing digital communication as an important tool, librarians can improve service quality, expand user reach, build professional collaboration, and support the development of information literacy. Digital communication allows librarians to adapt to changing times and meet the needs of users in the ever-evolving digital age

Abstract

Roemah Baca Keliling adalah sebuah nama komunitas yang berada di Kota Palembang yangpeduli terhadap minat baca masyarakat, komunitas ini muncul atas dasar kepedulian, empatiterhadap kondisi masyarakat saat ini di tengah kemajuan teknologi, serbuan penyalahgunaannarkoba dan lain-lain. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat peran komunitas tersebut dalam upayapeningkatan minat baca masyarakat Kota Palembang khususnya, melalui kegiatan-kegiatan yangbermanfaat bagi masyarakat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatankualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi.Informan dalam penelitian sebanyak lima orang informan yaitu, Ketua Komunitas RoemahBaling, Sekretaris Komunitas Roemah Baling, dan dua orang pengunjung Komunitas RoemahBaling. Pada teknik analisis data penulis menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data danpenarikan kesimpulan. Selanjutnya, validitas data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalahteknik triangulasi data. Penelitian dilaksanakan melalui tiga pokok antara lain yaitu analisisfaktor internal dan eksternal, identifikasi isu strategis melalui Analisis SWOT, kemudianevaluasi isu strategis melalui uji Test Litmus serta merumuskan strategi untuk mengelola isu.Hasil dari penelitian ini memperoleh dua isu. Isu sangat strategis yang memiliki skor tertingipertama adalah memanfaatkan SDM, sumber anggaran serta kondisi Komunitas Roemah Balingdalam meningkatkan budaya gemar membaca masyarakat Kota Palembang melalui kegiatankegiatan yang menarik, kreatif dan menyenangkan dengan skor 33. Isu yang cukup strategisselanjutnya yang memiliki skor tertinggi kedua adalah meningkatkan mutu organisasi denganmemanfaatkan sumber anggaran yang di sesuaikan dengan kebutuhan masyarakat dengan skor29.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of the Braille Corner service in creating social inclusion services in the Malang City Public Library. Social inclusion services in this research were measured using three aspects, namely connectivity, content, and community. According to Miles and Huberman, this type of descriptive research uses a qualitative approach, and data analysis techniques go through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results based on three aspects are (1) the Braille Corner service has adequate facilities and infrastructure to create inclusive services, apart from that the connectivity indicators also have various efforts to reach blind users such as by collaborating with various disability social communities, (2) aspects content by providing and developing library collections, extraordinary collections for the blind such as audiobooks, braille books, guiding blocks and so on. and (3) the human aspect, namely that librarians are equipped with special competencies that will help blind users in utilizing braille reading corner services in Malang city public libraries. From these three aspects, the Braille Corner service creates social inclusion services for the community, especially for blind users at the Malang City Public Library.
