Abstract

The 2013 curriculum requires science learning in junior high schools to be implemented in an integrated manner and covers all aspects of competence, namely attitudes, knowledge, and skills. The facts of science learning applied in schools have not been integrated. One solution to this problem is to implement contextually integrated science textbooks. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of integrated science books on the competence in class VIII SMPN 13 Padang. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with the design of the Postest only Non-Equivalent Control Group. The population of this study were eighth grade students of Padang State Junior High School 2017/2018 Academic Year, Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Instruments used, an observation sheet for attitude aspects, a written test for knowledge aspects and a performance assessment sheet for skills competency. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, and the average comparison test. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the results of the study are the use of integrated science books on contextual textbooks in everyday life that have a significant influence on students' competencies for the three aspects of competence at 95% level confidence in class VIII SMPN 13 Padang.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze junior high school science textbooks based on environmental literacy content. The research analyzed the books based on the contents of aspects of environmental literacy, namely: knowledge of the environment, cognitive skills, attitudes towards the environment and behavior towards the environment. The object of this research is the junior high school science textbook. The research population was five in 5 junior high school science textbooks that were analyzed. Sampling was carried out using a two-stage sampling technique. The results of this research indicate an imbalance in the proportion of aspects of environmental literacy contained in the book. All textbooks analyzed emphasize more knowledge of the environment. From the five books analyzed, it is known that the book which has environmental circulation is book 1, which is 78 scores. And the book that has the lowest environmental literacy is the book in book 3 which is 55 scores.

Abstract

The industrial revolution 4.0 requires humans to possess 21st century skills. The 21st century education requires skills to develop superior knowledge, skills, attitude and values, which fully support it with literacy. Student literacy will be able to help the learning process, so students can apply learning material to the facts that are around it. One of literacy to answer the defiance of this era is the new literacy. New literacy consist data literacy, technology and human data. The reality at school was not as expected, the learning resources used by students weren’t entirely in accordance with the new literacy. Solution to solve problem was physics module integrated new literacy. The purpose of this reserch is to determine the validity and practicality use of physics modules. The type of research carried out includes the type of Research and Development (R&D). The object of this research was a physics module that integrates new literacy which is tried to be limited to one of the XI classes of SMA Pembangunan Lab UNP. The data analysis technique used was a descriptive analysis of the validity of the product and the practicality of the product. Based on data analysis from the research that has been done, it can be stated two results of this research, : First, validation of  a physics module can be classified in to very good categoy with a average value 86.2.  Second, practcality of the use physics module integrates new literacy by the teacher was  91.7 and practicality by student was 85.3 according to the category of practice very good.

Abstract

The one direction of learning process made students less participated in class. Less communication between teachers and students also made them affraid to conveyed their own opinion. This condition made the weaknesses of the students  ability in thingking that impact on low marked of their result. One way to improve their result in learning was using Brain Based Learning approached which supposed to optimalize the worked of their brain, so that the learning process become meaningfull. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of applying the Brain Based Learning approach to the result of learning physics of class X in SMAN12 Padang. The type of research conducted by the quasi- experimental research design used is " Randomized Control Group Design Only ". The population were all of class X students enrolled in Academic Year 2013/2014. The sample taken by using technique cluster random sampling. The experimental class and control class determined at random. The research data includes learning outcomes in three domains , namely cognitive, affective , and psychomotor domains. Assessment instruments is used written test for cognitive, affective observation sheets for affective and rubrics for scoring for psychomotor domain . The research data were analyzed using two similarity test average of the t test with a significance level of 0,05. The results of the analysis of the data shows the average value of the experimental class on cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain higher than control class. Based on the results of the study concluded that there is a significant effect of the application of Brain Based Learning approach to physics learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains class X students of SMAN 12 Padang

Abstract

Student’s learning achievement in Physics especially aspects of skills are not optimal because they are less involved  in the learning process and they are less able to collaborate. Besides of that, teaching materials used in learning is still not diverse and not yet fully used . Therefore, researchers use the LKPD in the Cooperative Think Talk Write type as an alternative in improving student’s collaborative skill. This research is aimed to determine the effect of  using LKPD in the Cooperative Model Think Talk Write Type Against the Improving of Collaboration Skills in 10th Grade Students of SMAN 1 Pariaman. This research is using a quasi-experimental design with a randomized control group only design. The populations were students in X MIPA 1 - X MIPA 5 that were taught by the same teacher with the same teaching hours at SMAN 1 Pariaman and registered in 2019/2020. Researcher used purposive sampling technique. Collaboration skills were used as a data research. Instrument of this research a performance assessment sheet. The data were analyzed by two average similarity tests. The results showed the average value of Physics learning for the collaboration skills competence in the experimental class is 80.06 and  the control class is 68.90. The conclusion of the research is there is a significant influence from the use of LKPD in the Cooperative Model Think Talk Write Type towards the Improvement of Collaboration Skills in 10th Grade Students of SMAN 1 Pariaman

Abstract

One of the problems in physics learning in high school is that students are less able to solve various problems that are relevant to the subject matter, so student physics learning outcomes are still low. This research aims to determine the effect of the application of metacognitive strategy in problem-based learning to the results of physics learning of class XI students at SMAN 4 Padang in the first semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. This research is in the form of Quasi Experiment with the design of Posttest Only Control Gorup Design. The sampling technique was Cluster Random Sampling obtained by class XI MIPA 2 as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 1 as the control class. Research data was obtained through instruments in the form of LKS and tests in the form of learning outcomes data on aspects of knowledge. The instruments used have met the validity and reliability through trials. The results showed that the posttest results of the experimental class average value of 62.72 were higher than the average value of the control class of 55.34. The results of the t test at the 95% level indicate that tcount> t table, so that the difference in average values is due to differences in treatment. From the results of regression analysis and simple linear correlation between the value of using LKS and posttest in the experimental class, the value of rxy was 0.623, meaning that there were 38.81% contributions to the application of metacognitive strategy to student learning outcomes.

Abstract

In Physics learning, students' thinking ability is still low. This is felt when students are given problems to be solved, such as solving problems related to high-order thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of teaching materials oriented problem solving on the achievement of HOTS students class X SMA N 12 Padang. This research belongs to a kind of quasi experiment with Posttest Only Control Group Design research design. The population of this study is all students of grade X SMA N 12 Padang registered in the academic year 2017/2018. Sampling was conducted by using Cluster Random Sampling technique to get class X IPA 1 as experiment class and class X IPA 5 as control class. The data collected are two primary and secondary data. Primary data in the form of data result of teaching materials and final test data. Secondary data is documentation data obtained through Physics teacher and administration. The data obtained were processed using t test and correlation test. after fulfilling normality, homogeneity and linearity. Furthermore the correlation test can be performed after the data is normally distributed and satisfies the linear relationship. According to the results of data analysis found the results as follows. There is an effect of 51% of problem-oriented teaching materials to solving HOTS students. Thus the working hypothesis which reads "there is a meaningful influence of the problem solve oriented learning material toward the achievement of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Physics learning in grade X SMA N 12 Padang" is acceptable.

Abstract

One of factor causes of low physics learning outcomes is the lack of students ability in problem solving. One of the solution to overcome this problem is to use the students worksheet integrated ocean wave energy with Cooperative Problem Solving learning model. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact and contibution of the student worksheet integrated ocean wave energy to physics learning outcomes in Cooperative Problem Solving learning in XI grade SMAN 12 Padang. This research is Quasi Experimental Research with randomized control group only design. The population is the students of XI grade SMAN 12 Padang that listed in 2014/2015 academic year. Sampling techniques is cluster random sampling. Research data in the form of physics learning outcomes data and the score of student worksheet integrated ocean wave enegy data. Research instruments are written test (essay) for knowledge competence, observation sheet for attitude competence, and score  rubric  for  skill competence. Based on the data analysis, can be concluded that there are significance  effect and contribution student worksheet integrated ocean wave energy in Cooperative Problem Solving learning to the physics learning outcomes in XI grade SMAN 12 Padang

Abstract

Bilingual video tutorial media is an effort to create the concept of self-learning in students. For it has done research on the development of instructional media in the form of bilingual video tutorial for learning physics high school students of SMAN 3 Padang in class XI IPA 7. Type of research is research & development conducted through several steps. The first, bilingual video tutorial media validated by experts. Second, product revision, and the third is done product testing on high school students of class XI IPA 7. From the results, the average value of the validity of bilingual video tutorial media design for learning physics students was 87.17, the average value of the practicalities of media was 88.25%, and the value of the effectiveness of the use of bilingual video tutorial media that obtained from the the result of thitung of student's pre test and post test was 16.38. This proves that the bilingual video tutorial media is valid, practical, and effective as learning resources for students to create the concept of self-learning in students.
