Abstract

This study aims to find out the type of maxim and the most dominant maxim of politeness principle in the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. This study was compiled using a qualitative descriptive research method. The data of the study is the maxim of politeness principle in the transcript of the podcast Miley Cyrus and Joe Rogan. The author  ’s data source is from the “Youtube” Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. The number of data in this research is 60 data. The instrument of collecting data in this research was supported by observing the trancript of Joe Rogan Experience and Miley Cyrus to analyze the maxim of politeness principle and documentation from the video on Youtube from the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. From the research that has been done, it was found that there is a difference in percentage between the 6 types maxim of politeness Principle. Tact maxim data with a percentage of 28,33%, Approbation maxim data with a percentage of 8,33%, Generosity Maxim data with a percentage of 8,33%, Modesty Maxim data with a percentage of 18,33%, Sympathy Maxim data with a percentage of 1,7%, Agreement Maxim data with a percentage 35%. So, it can be concluded that the results showed that Agreement Maxim is the most dominant type maxim of politeness principle in the podcast of “Joe Rogan Experience". Agreement Maxim is minimize disagreement between self and other, maximize agreement between self and other.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of character education in building noble morals among Grade VIII students at MTs Darul Hadist Hutabaringin in Mandailing Natal Regency. The research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method, where data is collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects include students, teachers, the head of the madrasah, and parents. The findings reveal that character education at MTs Darul Hadist Hutabaringin is integrated into daily learning through teacher role models, extracurricular activities such as scouting and spiritual studies, and parental involvement in supporting school programs. Teachers play a significant role in instilling moral values, while extracurricular activities provide a space for students to practice these values outside the classroom. The study also identifies challenges, such as external environmental influences, particularly social media, which may hinder students’ internalization of character values. Additionally, limitations in time and resources pose obstacles to the optimal implementation of character education. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of stronger collaboration between schools, parents, and the community to reinforce character education. Continuous evaluation and innovation are also necessary to address technological challenges, ensuring character education remains relevant and effective in shaping a morally upright generation.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students’ metacognitive and reading comprehension in narrative text. This study investigates whether metacognitive awareness affects students' reading comprehension of narrative text at SMA N 3 Binjai. This research applied a quantitative approach, the population was the second-grade students at SMA N 3 Binjai in the 2024 academic year, and the sample was XI MIA 1 and XI MIA 2. The first sample involves 34 students for the experimental group (XI MIA 1) and the second sample involves 36 students for the control group (XI MIA 2). The instruments for collecting data were tests and questionnaires. There were pre-tests and post-tests for collecting data and the researcher gave pre-tests and post-tests to both classes. Based on the data, it was found that the result of the t-test (t-calculated) was higher than the t-table value at a significance level of p = 0,05 (2,1 > 1,995). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This indicates that metacognitive awareness was significantly influence the reading comprehension achievement of second-grade students at SMA N 3 Binjai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara religiusitas dan peran teman sebaya dengan perilaku sopan santun siswa MAN Asahan. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah: 1) Apakah ada hubungan religiusitas dengan perilaku sopan santun siswa di MAN Asahan? 2) Apakah ada hubungan peran teman sebaya dengan perilaku sopan santun siswa di MAN Asahan? 3) Apakah ada hubungan religiusitas dan peran teman sebaya dengan perilaku sopan santun siswa MAN Assahan?. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan tujuan untuk melihat hubungan antar variabel. Populasi penelitian seluruh siswa MAN Asahan berjumlah 956 siswa, sedangkan sampel diambil dengan cara proporsional menggunakan rumus Slovin. Adapun jumlah sampel sebanyak 108 orang. Data diambil melalui angket dalam bentuk Skala Likert dengan alternative jawaban 1-5. Data dianalisis menggunakan rumus regresi ganda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh data sebagai berikut: 1) Variabel religiusitas memperoleh total skor sebesar 19.076, dengan skor tertinggi 199 dan skor terendah 152, range 47, variasi 126,291, rata-rata 176,63, median 177,00, dan standar deviasi 11,238. Variabel peran teman sebaya diperoleh total skor sebesar 13.608, dengan skor tertinggi 153 dan skor terendah 102, range 51, variasi 123,645, rata-rata 126,00, median 126,00, dan standar deviasi 1,120. Sedangkan untuk variable perilaku sopan santun diperoleh skor total sebesar 16.562, dengan skor tertinggi 180, skor terendah 122, range 58, variasi 160,342, rata-rata 153,35, median 154,50, mode 167, dan standar deviasi 12,663. 2) Ada hubungan antara religiusitas dengan perilaku sopan santun dengan koefisien sebesar 0,242 pada signifikansi 0,001. 3) Ada hubungan antara peran teman sebaya dengan peilaku sopan santun dengan koefisien sebesar 0,654 pada signifikansi 0,000. 4) Ada hubungan religiusitas dan peran teman sebaya dengan perilaku sopan santun sebesar 0,699 dengan signifikansi 0,000.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of Differentiated Instruction (DI) strategies in responding to diverse learning needs in the classroom of students at MAS Darul Hadist Hutabaringin Kec. Siabu Kab. Mandailing Natal. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of DI can increase students' motivation, involvement, and understanding of the subject matter. Teachers apply grouping based on interests and abilities and vary learning methods to adjust to student characteristics, which contribute positively to their learning outcomes. The implementation of DI faces challenges in the form of limited time, resources, and learning facilities. Teachers need additional preparation to adapt materials and methods, and institutional support is needed so that the implementation of DI runs optimally. This study concludes that DI is an effective learning strategy in improving the quality of education in school environments with diverse learning needs, and recommends that schools support the implementation of DI through ongoing training and improving learning facilities.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the fact that there were students who were still attending class not according to the specified hours, there were students who were not dressed in uniforms according to the specified rules. The aim of this research is to describe: 1) An overview of discipline before information services are provided. 2) Description of discipline after being provided with information services. 3) Implementation of information services in forming discipline. The type of research used is an experimental method with a one group pretest and posttest research design. The population in this study was 72 and the sample used was 40 students taken using random sampling techniques. The instruments used in this research were questionnaires and documentation studies, while pretest & posttest percentage data analysis used interval scores and normality tests and t tests. The results of this research show: 1) Student discipline before being provided with information services is in the quite good category. 2) Student discipline after being provided with information services is in the good category. 3) There is a significant difference in student discipline before and after being provided with information services. There is an increase in the form of discipline in students in class XI Phase F SMA N 4 West Sumatra (Sports Talent) by providing information services. This research is recommended for guidance and counseling teachers. With the implementation of information services that have been carried out by researchers, guidance and counseling teachers are expected to be able to understand and improve the implementation of these services, then they can also apply them to students, especially in improving forms of discipline in order to improve their learning performance.

Abstract

Citizenship education plays an essential role in developing children's character, in line with moral, character and character education. This program aims to produce good citizens based on the values ??of Pancasila, which is the culture of the Indonesian nation. Building environmental awareness through citizenship education in elementary schools is very important, because it helps students understand their responsibilities towards the environment. The five principles of Pancasila are basic values ??that have developed into instrumental and rational values, creating a generation that cares about others and preserving nature. This research method uses a qualitative approach with literature study, collecting data from various relevant literature such as books, journals and official documents related to education citizenship in Indonesia. The data collection process began with a literature review through academic databases such as Google Scholar and JSTOR, followed by literature selection based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data is then categorized according to themes to produce an in-depth understanding of this topic. Civic education lessons have an important role in building environmental awareness by introducing the concepts of citizens' rights and obligations and environmental protection. Although there are challenges in integrating environmental education, there are opportunities to develop environmentally caring characters in students. Therefore, it is important to instill environmental awareness from an early age in everyday life, both at school and outside school.

Abstract

This study uses the type of lexical cohesion to analyze the writing of the background of study thesis. The purposes of this study are to find the type of lexical cohesion and what type of lexical is dominant in the background of the study thesis. This study was conducted using a qualitative method. The data collection method used document analysis because the data has taken from the text or document of the background of  study thesis. The object of this research has the writing of the background of  study thesis by students graduating in 2023. The results of this study are data on 10 background of thesis studies of students graduating in 2023. The researcher found 333 data on the use of lexical cohesion in the background of thesis of students graduating in 2023 consisting of 304 repetitions (91.6%), 3 synonyms (0.9%), 7 antonyms (2.1%), 9 hyponyms (2.7%), 10 meronyms (3.0%). From the results of the calculations above, the dominant type of lexical cohesion is repetition (91.6%).

Abstract

This research aims to improve the reading ability of grade I elementary school students through the use of Big Book media. The approach used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a cycle model consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were first grade elementary school students who had difficulty recognizing letters, reading words and simple sentences. Big Book media was chosen because of its large size and attractive illustrations, which are expected to motivate students in the process of learning to read. The research results show that the use of the Big Book significantly increases students' reading interest and ability. This can be seen from the increase in students' reading test scores in each cycle. The use of the Big Book also encourages active involvement of students and makes it easier for them to understand reading. Based on these results, Big Book media is effectively used as a means of learning to read for grade I elementary school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran TGH. Salman Alfarisi dalam mengembangkan pendidikan Islam di Desa Loang Maka, Kecamatan Janapria, Lombok Tengah, NTB. Kajian ini penting dilakukan mengingat kontribusi signifikan tokoh agama dalam pembangunan pendidikan Islam di tingkat lokal. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, untuk penelitian tokoh pendidikan Islam. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data mengadopsi model interaktif Miles & Huberman yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TGH. Salman Alfarisi memiliki tiga peran utama dalam pengembangan pendidikan Islam: (1) sebagai pendiri dan pengembang lembaga pendidikan formal dan non-formal, (2) sebagai agen transformasi sosial-keagamaan masyarakat, dan (3) sebagai pemimpin spiritual yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai lokal dengan ajaran Islam. keberhasilan pengembangan pendidikan Islam di daerah sangat ditentukan oleh kemampuan tokoh agama dalam memahami konteks sosial-budaya setempat. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan model kepemimpinan pendidikan Islam berbasis kearifan lokal dan penguatan peran tokoh agama dalam pembangunan pendidikan di daerah.
