Abstract

This study aims to analyze critical discourse in online media coverage of the Molotov cocktail incident in Samarinda using the approach of Norman Fairclough and Teun A. van Dijk. The data consists of three online news articles analyzed from the perspective of text, discursive practices, and social practices. The results show that all three articles tend to present narratives that support the police as the sole source and frame the perpetrators as a threat to public security. The demonstrations are reduced to potential anarchy, and the perpetrators are denied any opportunity to defend themselves. The analysis shows that the media plays a role as a reproducer of state power in constructing public opinion.

Abstract

This study is motivated by performance issues identified among employees of PT Andalan Fluid Sistem, including delays in completing tasks, inconsistent achievement of work targets, frequent work errors, and reduced enthusiasm and organizational attachment. These symptoms indicate potential inefficiencies in the company’s training programs, career development practices, and reward system implementation. At the same time, employee engagement is considered a crucial psychological factor that bridges the relationship between human resource development initiatives and employee performance improvements. The study aims to analyze the influence of training, career development, and reward systems on employee performance, both directly and through employee engagement as a mediating variable. The conceptual framework is grounded in Human Capital Theory, Social Exchange Theory, and contemporary performance management concepts emphasizing the importance of employee emotional attachment to the organization. A quantitative explanatory design was employed. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire administered to employees of PT Andalan Fluid Sistem who met the research criteria. Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was used to examine both the measurement and structural models, including tests of validity, reliability, multicollinearity, inner model evaluation, and assessments of direct and indirect effects. The findings indicate that training, career development, and reward systems influence employee performance, with varying levels of effect across variables. Employee engagement acts as a mediator in these relationships. The results emphasize that improving skills through training, providing clear career pathways, and applying a fair reward system can strengthen engagement and ultimately enhance performance. The study concludes that an integrated HR management strategy linking training, career development, reward systems, and engagement is essential. PT Andalan Fluid Sistem must ensure that HR development programs go beyond administrative functions by fostering employee motivation, loyalty, and emotional attachment as key drivers of improved performance.

Abstract

Employee turnover poses a significant financial and operational challenge for organizations globally, driven by factors like disengagement, poor management, and misaligned career paths. This study explores the stay interview as a proactive, relational tool to enhance retention by identifying and addressing employee concerns before they lead to resignation. Using a qualitative case study methodology, the research analyzed the implementation of a structured stay interview program within a mid-sized technology firm over 12 months. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with managers and participating employees, alongside analysis of retention metrics. Results indicated a 25% reduction in voluntary turnover and a marked improvement in employee engagement scores. The discussion emphasizes that the efficacy of stay interviews hinges on managerial training, a culture of psychological safety, and a demonstrable follow-up on issues raised. The study concludes that integrating stay interviews into a broader talent retention strategy transforms them from a procedural task into a strategic asset for building organizational commitment and preempting turnover.

Abstract

In an increasingly fragmented digital landscape, organizations often deploy brand, content, and sales strategies in functional silos, leading to inconsistent customer experience and suboptimal resource allocation. This research addresses the critical need for a unified framework to synchronize these core marketing functions. The objective was to develop and validate a practical blueprint for integrated marketing that enhances strategic alignment and measurable impact. The methodology employed a qualitative multi-case study analysis of five B2B and B2C companies recognized for marketing excellence, supplemented by in-depth interviews with senior marketing leaders. The results reveal that successful integration is predicated on a shared customer-value narrative, cross-functional governance, and unified performance metrics. The discussion underscores that this alignment transforms content into a strategic asset for both brand building and sales acceleration, fostering a cohesive customer journey. In conclusion, the proposed Integrated Marketing Blueprint provides a actionable model for breaking down internal silos. Its adoption is shown to increase marketing ROI, improve customer lifetime value, and drive sustainable growth by ensuring every customer touchpoint is strategically coherent.

Abstract

In the digital era, the traditional campaign-based marketing model is increasingly misaligned with the perpetual, always-on nature of consumer engagement. This research addresses the strategic shift required to move from episodic campaigns towards managing marketing as a continuous, data-driven conversation with the customer. The objective was to identify the operational and cultural frameworks that enable organizations to sustain meaningful dialogue across the entire customer lifecycle. A qualitative methodology was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews with twenty-five senior marketing leaders from digitally mature organizations and a thematic analysis of internal strategy documents. The results reveal that successful transition hinges on three pillars: an agile, content-led engagement strategy; an integrated technology stack enabling real-time interaction management; and an organizational culture that prioritizes customer listening and iterative learning over rigid campaign calendars. The discussion emphasizes that this approach fosters greater brand relevance, improves customer lifetime value, and drives more efficient resource allocation. In conclusion, managing marketing as a continuous conversation is not merely a tactical change but a fundamental strategic reorientation, demanding new capabilities, metrics, and leadership mindsets to thrive in a perpetually connected marketplace.

Abstract

Teaching Indonesian as a Foreign Language (BIPA) should be designed to be contextual and communicative to effectively address learners' needs in language skills, particularly reading and speaking. This study aims to develop a thematic-based learning model that integrates local Indonesian wisdom to enhance reading and speaking skills among Grade 7 students. The research employed a development research method following the Dick and Carey instructional design model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and language skill tests. The results indicated that the model was effective in improving students' reading comprehension, speaking confidence, and interest in Indonesian cultural content. There was a significant increase in students' average scores after the implementation of the model. Thus, integrating thematic content and local cultural values into BIPA learning proved to be an effective strategy to enhance students' language skills while fostering meaningful appreciation of Indonesian culture.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of restorative justice in the resolution of general criminal offenses at Polres Barru within the framework of criminal law enforcement in Indonesia. The research employs a normative legal research method, focusing on the analysis of statutory regulations, legal principles, and doctrinal perspectives, particularly Law Number 2 of 2002 on the Indonesian National Police, Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, and Regulation of the Chief of Police Number 8 of 2021 concerning the handling of criminal cases based on restorative justice. The study applies statute and social approaches to assess the consistency and effectiveness of restorative justice implementation at the investigative level. The findings indicate that restorative justice has contributed to improved legal effectiveness by promoting victim recovery, offender responsibility, and social reconciliation, while also enhancing procedural efficiency. However, its implementation faces challenges related to regulatory clarity, law enforcement discretion, and uniformity of application. This study concludes that strengthening normative guidelines and institutional capacity is essential to ensure the sustainable and equitable application of restorative justice in criminal law enforcement.

Abstract

Palm oil mill boiler ash is a solid industrial waste available in large quantities, but its utilization is still limited. This waste has alkaline properties and nutrient content that has the potential to improve the physical-chemical properties of tropical acid soils, such as pH, cation exchange capacity, and macronutrient availability, making it a potential sustainable soil ameliorant. This study aims to process organic fertilizer, namely an organomineral product based on boiler ash, with the aim of evaluating its chemical characteristics and assessing its potential application as a soil ameliorant. The analysis results show that Puler has a pH value of 9 and a nutrient composition that can improve soil quality without heavy metal concentrations above the Indonesian national standard threshold. These findings indicate that Puler can be an efficient alternative ameliorant and supports the utilization of palm oil industry waste. In addition, this puler also meets the criteria for organic fertilizer standards according to SNI 7763:2024

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of rice commodity agribusiness in improving food security and driving national economic growth in South Labuhanbatu Regency. This research is motivated by the still suboptimal management of rice agribusiness, which is characterized by production fluctuations, limited technology adoption, and the weak bargaining position of farmers in the distribution chain. The study used a mixed method approach involving 17 respondents consisting of farmers, distributors, middlemen, and absorption partners. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis used SWOT analysis, BCG Matrix, SPACE Matrix, and QSPM. The results show that rice agribusiness in South Labuhanbatu Regency is in the Strength–Opportunity position, Star quadrant, and aggressive strategy, which indicates high growth opportunities. The QSPM results indicate that strengthening partnerships between farmers and absorption partners is a priority strategy with the highest appeal. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of four strategic analysis tools in the context of a regional economy based on food security. The research findings provide policy implications that rice agribusiness development needs to be directed at upstream-downstream integration, strengthening farmer institutions, and price stabilization to support food security and national economic growth.
