Abstract

This study analyzes the factors influencing carbon emissions in five ASEAN maritime countries, namely Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, using the Panel Autoregressive Distributed Lag (P-ARDL) method with data from 1993 to 2023. The variables studied include economic growth, energy intensity, the share of renewable energy, and sector structure using the agriculture industry proxy. Long-term estimates show that GDP per capita growth, energy intensity, and sector structure have a significant positive effect on carbon emissions, while renewable energy has a negative but insignificant effect. In the short term, energy intensity is the most dominant factor increasing emissions, while economic growth, renewable energy, and sector structure have not shown a significant impact. Vietnam and Thailand are still in the early phase of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC), while the Philippines and Malaysia are beginning to show decoupling through energy efficiency and the service sector. Indonesia shows an unstable transition pattern. These findings emphasize the need to improve energy efficiency and accelerate the clean energy transition in ASEAN maritime countries.

Abstract

In an era of rapid technological disruption and skill obsolescence, organizations face the dual challenge of closing critical competency gaps and retaining top talent. This study investigates formal upskilling programs as a strategic retention engine, positing that investment in employee growth directly reduces turnover by fostering engagement, career path clarity, and a psychological contract of mutual investment. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research analyzed longitudinal HR data and conducted interviews at a multinational firm before and after implementing a structured, role-specific upskilling initiative. Results demonstrated a 40% reduction in voluntary turnover among participating employees and a significant increase in internal mobility and promotion rates. The discussion identifies key success factors: aligning skills with strategic business goals, providing clear internal career pathways, and ensuring managerial support for learning application. The study concludes that a strategic upskilling program, embedded within a broader talent development philosophy, is a powerful mechanism for future-proofing the workforce and building organizational resilience from within, transforming a cost center into a core retention and competitive advantage strategy.

Abstract

The contemporary workplace is undergoing a fundamental transformation, driven by post-pandemic expectations, social justice movements, and a heightened focus on holistic employee value. This research investigates the complex interplay between Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), employee well-being, and flexible work models as the three pillars of the "new norms" in people management. Employing a multi-case study methodology, the study analyzed the integrated strategies of five purpose-driven organizations over an 18-month period. Results indicate that a siloed approach to these domains leads to initiative fatigue and diminished impact. Successful organizations demonstrated that authentic, data-driven DEI efforts create psychological safety, which underpins well-being. Furthermore, structured flexibility, when managed with clear principles of equity and accountability, was found to enhance both inclusion and mental health outcomes. The discussion argues that HR leaders must transition from programmatic thinking to systemic integration, where policies in one domain actively reinforce the others. The study concludes by providing a practical framework for navigating these interconnected priorities to build resilient, adaptive, and high-performing organizations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Omnichannel Service in activating Latent Consumer Behavior with Perceived Value as an intervening variable at CV Empat Cahaya Noesantara. The research is based on the issue of increasing consumer interactions across digital channels that are not matched by actual conversion from latent consumers into active customers, highlighting the need to understand how Omnichannel Service shapes consumers’ Perceived Value. The research uses a quantitative method with Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The sample consists of digital channel users of CV Empat Cahaya Noesantara who have interacted with the platform but have not completed or rarely engaged in transactions. Data were collected through an online questionnaire to examine both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The results show that Omnichannel Service has a positive and significant effect on Perceived Value and Latent Consumer Behavior. Perceived Value also significantly influences Latent Consumer Behavior and mediates the relationship between Omnichannel Service and Latent Consumer Behavior. These findings emphasize the importance of channel integration, responsiveness, and information quality in enhancing Perceived Value and activating latent consumers.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the extent to which English language proficiency influences the success of agricultural technology transfer in Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency, and how this supports increased rice productivity and local food security. The research also aims to identify barriers and formulate strategies for strengthening English language capacity among farmers and extension workers. This research was used a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods with survey and observation designs. The qualitative method was conducted using the NVivo application to determine the most frequently occurring words in the data word frequency search, displaying data analysis in the form of tables, Hierarchy Charts, Mind Maps, and Hierarchy Chart Project Maps. The quantitative method used SPSS through classical assumption test, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing. Data was collected through interviews and the distribution of questionnaires to 215 respondents, consisting of rice farmers and agricultural extension workers, which was calculated using Slovin's formula, resulting in a research sample of 140 people. The results of this study indicate that English language proficiency has a significant influence on the transfer of agricultural technology. Quantitative findings show that 90.4% of the variation in technology transfer can be explained by English language proficiency, while qualitative results highlight the constraints of understanding technical terms and the role of extension workers as mediators in transferring new agricultural technologies to farmers. As for the relationship between the two, it shows that improving English language skills is a key strategy in accelerating the adoption of agricultural technology to support increased rice self-sufficiency in Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency.

Abstract

The banking system is a crucial pillar in economic stability and faces intense competition in the era of globalization, demanding continuous innovation and effective human resource management (HRM). High Turnover Intention (TI) among contract employees, particularly in the Indonesian banking sector (reaching 15%-16%), poses a significant challenge. This issue is exacerbated by Work Placement policies that assign employees far from their domicile, triggering financial dissatisfaction (additional living costs) and fatigue (distance and travel time). This study aims to analyze and test the influence of the independent variables Work Placement, Work Environment Adaptation, and Work Motivation on the Turnover Intention of contract employees at Bank XYZ in Indramayu, by identifying the mediating role of Job Satisfaction. The research method uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to contract employees of Bank XYZ in Indramayu. The results of this study are expected to provide important information for Human Resource Management initiatives in formulating better employee placement and adaptation strategies, as well as enhancing motivation and job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to adapt and conduct initial validation of the Teachers' Perceptions of Grading Practices Scale (TPGPS) into Indonesian. This scale measures teachers' perceptions of assessment practices in six components, namely interests, benefits, student efforts, student abilities, teachers' assessment habits, and perceived self-efficacy from the assessment process. Participants consisted of 130 high school teachers who completed the questionnaire online. Data were analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using JAMOVI version 2.3.28 to assess the model suitability of the six-factor structure. The results showed acceptable model conformity with RMSEA = 0.0361 (≤ 0.08), although the values of CFI (0.775) and TLI (0.758) were slightly below the recommended threshold (≥ 0.90). The reliability of such scales is high (α Cronbach = 0.827), which indicates good internal consistency. Some items with low factor loading are recommended for revision at the later stages of validation. Overall, the Indonesian version of TPGPS is valid and reliable for assessing teachers' perceptions of assessment practices in the context of education in Indonesia.
