Abstract

Disciplinary actions carried out by teachers, which in the past were considered mediocre, have now shifted and are considered to violate human rights. On the one hand, teachers must enforce school discipline and discipline. On the other hand, they are worried aboutcriminalization by parents or child defense NGOs for allegations of violence against children. Thepurpose of this research is to find out the implementation of legal protection for teachers in providing punishment to discipline their teachers and toformulate the concept of legal protection for teachers. The method used is normative legal research. Based on the results of the research, Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning teachers and lecturers has expressly protected the profession of teachers and lecturers, but inits implementation the power of the law is still not seen to contribute to the fate of teachers as educators. The actions taken by teachers to discipline students within certain limits are seen as having a good purpose.

Abstract

Climate change is a global challenge that has a widespread impact and requires understanding and concrete action, especially from the younger generation as the drivers of change in the future. In the context of teaching natural sciences, the application of a citizen science approach provides opportunities for students to be directly involved in observing, collecting, and analyzing environmental data related to climate change. This study uses a literature review method to examine the role of integrating science education with citizen science in improving understanding of climate change among the younger generation. The findings show that this integration successfully improves students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, enthusiasm for learning, and environmental awareness in a relevant context. Although there are challenges such as time constraints, teacher training, and data quality, the use of digital technology and institutional support can reduce these obstacles. The integration of science in science education not only enhances the learning experience but also builds the character and ability of the younger generation to play a responsible role in climate change mitigation and adaptation. This strategy is very much in line with the demands of 21st-century education and sustainable development plans.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to address low English learning motivation among eighth-grade students at MTsN Semarang through the implementation of differentiated instruction adapted to students’ readiness levels, interests, and learning profiles. The research examines how differentiated instruction was implemented and evaluates its impact on students’ motivation within a heterogeneous classroom context. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using open-ended questionnaires and in-depth interviews with five students representing diverse learner profiles and one eighth-grade English teacher. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that differentiated practices supported by diagnostic assessment, varied learning activities, task options, and multimodal learning media significantly enhanced students’ engagement, confidence, and motivation in learning English. The study concludes that differentiated instruction is an effective and contextually relevant strategy to improve English learning motivation at the junior secondary level and aligns well with the Merdeka Curriculum’s emphasis on adaptive, student-centered learning.
