Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of marketing communication through TikTok Live, focusing on its impact on consumer engagement and purchase decisions. As digital business in Indonesia rapidly grows, TikTok has evolved from an entertainment platform to a dynamic marketing tool, integrating e-commerce and live commerce features. By allowing real-time interactions between brands and consumers, TikTok Live enhances trust, fosters deeper engagement, and encourages impulsive purchases. The study finds that the interactive nature of TikTok Live, including live demonstrations and direct consumer inquiries, significantly influences purchasing behavior. Additionally, the integration of entertainment elements further strengthens consumer interest and increases conversion rates. The research adopts a qualitative approach, using a case study design with participatory observation and content analysis of several TikTok Live sessions to identify key factors influencing consumer decisions. The findings highlight the potential of TikTok Live as a powerful platform for both large and small businesses to enhance marketing effectiveness and reach a broader audience, especially younger consumers. In conclusion, businesses looking to optimize their digital marketing strategies should leverage TikTok Live’s real-time, interactive features to create more personalized, engaging consumer experiences.

Abstract

This study analyzes the copywriting strategy of the NGO PILI Green Network during its 2025 World Coffee Day campaign on Instagram (@piligreennetwork) in response to the urgency of environmental communication in digital media. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach using content observation, interviews, and active participation (internship), this research examines the implementation of the persuasive AIDA framework (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action). The results indicate the strategy’s success in building Attention and Interest through a friendly tone of voice and eco-storytelling that emphasizes Dual Benefits (farmer welfare and forest conservation). However, a significant limitation was found in the Action phase, where Call-to-Action (CTA) tended to be low-effort (interaction) and lacked specificity in encouraging high-effort conversions (e.g., sustainable coffee purchase). This study contributes to non-profit communication practices by highlighting the importance of measurable CTAs to enhance public participation and real sustainability action

Abstract

This study investigates the intersection between digital regulatory communication and youth participation in Indonesia’s evolving digital economy. As the nation approaches its demographic bonus era (2030–2040), young people have become key drivers of digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and creative economy growth. However, their potential remains constrained by a regulatory environment that is fragmented, reactive, and inadequately adaptive to the dynamic nature of digital transformation. Using a qualitative juridical-normative and conceptual approach, this research critically analyzes the alignment between existing legal frameworks—such as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, the Youth Law, the Job Creation Law, and the Creative Economy Regulation—and the practical realities of youth-driven digital innovation. Findings reveal a persistent structural gap between regulatory intentions and implementation, marked by legal ambiguity, administrative rigidity, and limited youth participation in policymaking processes. These conditions weaken institutional trust and hinder the inclusiveness of Indonesia’s digital transformation agenda. The study identifies that the dominance of control-oriented regulation (rule-based approach) often restricts innovation freedom, while the absence of adaptive mechanisms—such as regulatory sandboxes and co-regulation frameworks—reduces opportunities for legal experimentation and creative growth among young innovators. This research contributes theoretically by integrating youth empowerment theory, digital governance theory, and socio-legal perspectives to conceptualize adaptive digital regulation as a facilitative rather than restrictive instrument. Practically, it proposes a participatory regulatory communication model emphasizing inclusivity, policy harmonization, and digital legal literacy as prerequisites for sustainable youth engagement. The study concludes that achieving Indonesia’s “Golden Vision 2045” requires a shift from security-oriented to empowerment-based regulation—where law functions not merely as control, but as a communicative, enabling, and transformative medium for youth-led digital innovation.

Abstract

The advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping how humans interpret communication, challenging the boundaries of classical human-centered rhetorical theory. This study examines 30 Scopus-indexed publications from 2018–2025, tracing the evolution of rhetorical thought from humanistic traditions to algorithmic paradigms. It explores how Aristotle’s four core pillars; techné, ethos, pathos, and logos, are being redefined in AI-mediated communication. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA 2020 Extended Checklist and bibliometric mapping via VOSviewer, the analysis identifies six main thematic directions: rhetoric as techné, synthetic ethos, digital rhetorical literacy and ethical responsibility, algorithmic persuasion and non-human agency, public discourse formation through digital media politics, and applications in education, business, and health communication. Findings indicate that Aristotelian rhetoric remains relevant in the AI era but requires dynamic theoretical adaptation to human-algorithm interactions. The study proposes an algorithmic rhetoric framework integrating ethical, technological, and epistemological dimensions to understand persuasion in digital communication. Practically, it emphasizes the development of AI-based rhetorical literacy to ensure digital persuasion practices remain transparent, ethical, and human-centered. Abstract

Di era digital, media komunikasi menjadi kebutuhan utama yang sulit dihindari. Internet semakin mengerat ketergantungan manusia terhadap perangkat komunikasi, menyebabkan perubahan perilaku dan pemaknaan terhadap media itu sendiri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali mengenai rekonstruksi makna dan fungsi pada media komunikasi yang terjadi kepada para nomophobic. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan observasi, teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu Miles dan Huberman, serta teknik validitas data menggunakan triangulasi. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada rekonstruksi makna dan fungsi media komunikasi khususnya mobile phone pada saat ini. Terutama bagi mereka yang memiliki interaksi yang cukup berlebihan atau dalam hal ini disebut 'nomophobic' (orang yang tidak bisa jauh dari mobile phone). Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, penulis mengkategorisasikan rekonstruksi makna terhadap mobile phone menjadi dua kategori. Pertama,  mobile phone sebagai sebuah nilai (value). Kedua, mobile phone sebagai suatu wujud (existence).

Abstract

Stunting is a serious challenge to national development because it affects the quality of human resources in the future. Sumedang Regency, West Java, is known to have successfully reduced the prevalence of stunting through the Accelerated Stunting Reduction (PPS) program, which is integrated with the e-SIMPATI application. This study aims to describe the communication strategies of posyandu cadres in supporting program implementation in Sindangpakuon Village, Cimanggung District. The research method used a qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. The results showed that the communication strategies of cadres were carried out through cross-actor collaboration, interpersonal approaches, the use of digital media, and continuous evaluation using the RACE (Research, Action, Communication, Evaluation) model. Additionally, it was found that limiting factors included digital literacy constraints and uneven levels of community participation; however, cadres were able to overcome these challenges through local innovations. These findings emphasize the importance of adaptive and participatory communication strategies in bridging government policies with the social conditions of rural communities.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between community participation in the Family Income Improvement Program for Acceptors (UPPKA) and the increase in community income in Air Dingin Sub-district. The research was driven by the need to assess how far community involvement in the UPPKA program influences income improvement. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 19 respondents who are active members of the UPPKA program. Data analysis was performed using the Kendall’s Tau-b correlation test to determine the strength and direction of the relationship between the variables. The correlation interpretation was conducted with reference to the Correlation Coefficient interpretation table and processed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 23. The results indicate a positive and statistically significant relationship between community participation in the UPPKA program and the increase in community income, with a significance value of 0.014 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.547, categorized as a moderately strong relationship.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola komunikasi pemerintahan yang dibangun oleh Bupati Brebes, Paramitha Widya Kusuma, melalui media sosial Instagram sebagai sarana komunikasi publik digital. Dalam era keterbukaan informasi, media sosial menjadi instrumen penting untuk menciptakan hubungan yang transparan, partisipatif, dan responsif antara pemerintah dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode analisis konten berbasis teori komunikasi Harold D. Lasswell. Data diperoleh dari sepuluh unggahan Instagram @kusumaparamithawidya yang dikoding menggunakan perangkat lunak NVivo 12, mencakup caption unggahan dan komentar masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa unsur komunikasi seperti siapa komunikatornya, pesan yang disampaikan, saluran yang digunakan, penerima pesan, dan dampak yang ditimbulkan, membentuk narasi pemerintahan yang aktif, humanis, dan partisipatif. Interaksi masyarakat melalui komentar mencerminkan apresiasi, aspirasi, dan legitimasi terhadap kepemimpinan Bupati. Dengan demikian, Instagram berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai media penyebaran informasi, tetapi juga sebagai ruang dialog dua arah yang memperkuat keterlibatan publik dalam pemerintahan lokal.

Abstract

Public speaking ability is an essential skill for master's students to support both academic and professional communication. However, many students still experience difficulties in speaking in public due to low levels of self-efficacy and self-confidence. This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy on public speaking ability with self-confidence as a mediating variable among master's students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau. The study involved 153 respondents, and the data were collected using questionnaires distributed directly and via Google Forms. Data analysis was conducted using the PLS-SEM method with SmartPLS version 4 software. The results indicate that self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on public speaking ability, both directly and indirectly through self-confidence. In addition, self-confidence also has a significant influence on public speaking ability. Therefore, enhancing self-efficacy can strengthen self-confidence and positively impact students’ public speaking performance. Keywords: Public Speaking Ability, Self-Confidence, Self-Efficacy
