Abstract

This study aims to map the patterns, trends, and thematic focuses of research on teachers' self-efficacy using a bibliometric approach. A bibliometric method with keyword co-occurrence analysis was employed to identify the thematic structure and research development of teachers' self-efficacy across educational levels. The data were obtained from scholarly publications indexed in Google Scholar and collected using the Publish or Perish software with the search string (“teacher self-efficacy” OR “teacher efficacy” OR “teaching self-efficacy”). The bibliographic metadata was exported in RIS format and analyzed using VOSviewer to generate density, network, and overlay visualizations. The findings indicate that teachers' self-efficacy is a central concept dominating the research landscape and functions as a key connector among multiple research themes. The thematic mapping reveals several major clusters, including beliefs and teaching practices, collective teacher efficacy and school leadership, online learning and technology, teacher well-being, and the measurement of self-efficacy. Furthermore, the temporal analysis shows that topics related to online teaching, the COVID-19 context, and teacher well-being have emerged more prominently in recent years, reflecting the evolving challenges in contemporary education. This study contributes conceptually by providing a macro-level overview of the intellectual structure and developmental trends of research on teachers' self-efficacy.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of conventional Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Green Chemistry–integrated PjBL in improving learning outcomes and 21st-century skills in chemistry education. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by synthesizing findings from 17 national and international scholarly articles relevant to the research focus. The SLR process followed structured stages, including identification, selection, data extraction, and narrative synthesis. The variables analyzed included cognitive learning outcomes, 21st-century skills (Higher Order Thinking Skills, creativity, collaboration, and communication), learning engagement, environmental literacy, and project product quality. The results of the SLR indicate that both conventional PjBL and Green Chemistry–integrated PjBL are consistently reported to enhance learning outcomes and 21st-century skills compared to traditional instructional approaches. However, Green Chemistry–integrated PjBL demonstrates a broader range of learning impacts. In addition to improving academic achievement and 21st-century skills, this approach is reported to foster environmental literacy, understanding of Green Chemistry principles, student engagement, and the development of sustainability-oriented project products. These findings suggest that integrating Green Chemistry provides substantial added value to the implementation of PjBL in chemistry learning. This study concludes that Green Chemistry–integrated PjBL offers a more comprehensive pedagogical approach than conventional PjBL in supporting 21st-century chemistry education and Education for Sustainable Development. The findings are expected to serve as both a conceptual and practical reference for educators, researchers, and policymakers in designing project-based chemistry learning that emphasizes sustainability

Abstract

This study aims to map the scientific publication landscape on character education from an Islamic perspective using a Google Scholar–based bibliometric approach. Data were collected through Publish or Perish using the query (“character education” OR “moral education”) AND Islam for the 2015–2025 publication period, exported in RIS format, and analyzed in VOSviewer to generate keyword co-occurrence maps. The dataset consists of 500 documents with 18,309 total citations, averaging 1,664.45 citations per year and 36.62 citations per document. Citation impact indicators show an h-index of 62 and a g-index of 103, and most documents have received at least one citation (488 documents with ≥1 citation). VOSviewer visualizations position “character education” as the most dominant and central node, closely connected to conceptual and implementation-related themes such as “moral education,” “concept,” “school,” “Islamic boarding school/Islamic boarding school,” “management,” “character education program,” “family,” and “child,” while “digital era” emerges as a peripheral contemporary context. Overall, the mapping indicates that research on Islamic character education forms a thematic structure linking conceptual–normative foundations with institutional and programmatic dimensions of implementation. This study contributes a thematic roadmap that can inform more focused future research, particularly by strengthening connections across clusters and exploring still-peripheral topics.

Abstract

The growth of artificial intelligence (AI) has led to its use in education, especially in learning math. This study looks at how math education students at PGRI Wiranegara University feel about using AI tools to solve math problems. The study used a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. It included 20 students from the 2022 group who were chosen because they had used AI tools before. The main tool used in the study was a questionnaire that measured students' perceptions on a five-point scale. The questionnaire focused on areas like the benefits of AI, how easy it is to use, its effect on problem-solving, and any challenges in using AI. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that students had a positive view of using AI tools because they found them helpful in understanding math concepts, organizing steps to solve problems, and making learning more efficient. Students also thought AI tools were easy to use and helped them with solving math problems. However, some challenges were noted, like limited internet access and worries about less independent thinking. Even with these issues, students still saw AI as a helpful tool for learning. The study concludes that AI can be a good support for math learning if used in a smart and thoughtful way.

Abstract

Philosophy plays a strategic role in the development of the curriculum of Islamic education management, as it provides a conceptual, value-based, and directional foundation for educational goals. This study aims to examine the benefits of philosophy in developing the curriculum of Islamic education management, particularly in strengthening the integration of spiritual, intellectual, and moral dimensions. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using a library research method, analyzing books on educational philosophy, Islamic philosophy, as well as relevant scholarly articles and journals. The findings indicate that philosophy, through the branches of ontology, epistemology, and axiology, plays a significant role in formulating the objectives, content, methods, and evaluation of the Islamic education curriculum. Various philosophical schools such as idealism, realism, pragmatism, and existentialism contribute to shaping a curriculum oriented toward the formation of insan kamil (the complete human being). Furthermore, the integration of bayani, irfani, and burhani epistemologies enriches curriculum development, making it more holistic and contextual. With a strong philosophical foundation, the curriculum of Islamic education management functions not merely as a means of knowledge transmission, but also as an instrument for character building, moral development, and social responsibility among learners.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of visual learning tools in improving students' understanding of sequence diagram concepts in vocational high schools majoring in Software Engineering (RPL). The study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two groups, namely the experimental group who learned using visual learning tools and the control group who used conventional learning methods. Data were collected through objective tests to measure students' cognitive understanding of sequence diagram concepts. Data analysis was performed using a t-test to determine the difference in average learning outcomes between the two groups. The results showed that students in the experimental group obtained significantly higher scores than the control group. These findings indicate that the use of visual learning tools is effective in improving students' understanding of sequence diagram concepts. Graphic and dynamic visual representations help students model object interactions more concretely, thereby reducing cognitive load and supporting the UML learning process more effectively.

Abstract

Aims to describe the types of difficulties, contributing factors, and solutions in poetry declamation among eighth-grade students of class VIII C at SMP Negeri 1 Mempawah Hulu. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method with a single instrumental case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation. The findings reveal that students’ difficulties in poetry declamation include unclear articulation, monotonous intonation, rigid expressions and gestures, and insufficient internalization of the poem’s meaning. These difficulties are influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors include low self-confidence, performance anxiety, limited understanding of the poem’s meaning, and insufficiently trained vocal skills. External factors include less varied teaching methods, a lack of appropriate declamation models, limited practice opportunities, an unsupportive learning environment, and limited facilities for literature learning. The solutions implemented include continuous declamation practice, the use of more engaging teaching methods and learning media, the provision of appropriate declamation examples, and teacher guidance to enhance students’ self-confidence. This study is expected to serve as a reference for improving the quality of poetry declamation instruction at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Modern biotechnology, particularly genetic engineering, has been widely utilised in agriculture to improve the productivity and quality of food crops, including rice. This study aims to analyse the use of genetic engineering biotechnology in rice crops and its contribution to increasing agricultural yields and food security. The research method used was a literature study, reviewing various scientific journal articles discussing the application of genetically engineered rice. The results of the study show that genetic engineering in rice plants can increase resistance to pests and diseases, tolerance to extreme environmental conditions, and higher yields. However, its application still faces a number of challenges, including food safety issues, potential environmental impacts, and public acceptance. Thus, the use of genetic engineering biotechnology in rice plants has great potential in supporting sustainable agriculture, but it needs to be accompanied by clear regulations, strict supervision, and continuous socialisation to the public.
