Abstract

The use of fertilizers plays an important role in increasing agricultural productivity. However, long-term dependence on chemical fertilizers poses a risk of reducing soil fertility, causing nutrient imbalances, and leading to the accumulation of chemical residues that negatively impact the soil ecosystem. Pandan Wangi Village, which develops the agricultural and livestock sectors side by side, still faces challenges in managing organic waste. This condition leads to environmental pollution and a high dependence on chemical inputs in agriculture. This program aims to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers by utilizing livestock waste as a raw material for organic fertilizers, which can enhance soil fertility and reduce environmental impacts. This activity involves socialization and training to improve the knowledge and skills of the community in independently producing organic fertilizers. This program is expected to provide long-term benefits for agricultural productivity and empower communities towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural system.

Abstract

This article discusses a strategic approach to improving taxpayer compliance among restaurant owners in Surabaya through a method known as “shadowing.” The peddling approach involves direct supervision and education, where tax officials engage with business operators to increase their understanding of tax obligations and improve their accounting systems. The results show a significant increase in transparency and accountability in tax reporting, leading to a reduction in tax evasion. Despite the successes, challenges remain, particularly regarding resistance from some business owners and a lack of understanding of tax responsibilities. Continued efforts from the government are essential to provide better education and create an enabling environment for tax compliance. This study concludes that a collaborative ecosystem between government and businesses can foster a fair, transparent, and sustainable tax environment, ultimately contributing to regional development and community welfare.

Abstract

This community service project aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainable waste management practices among primary school students at SDN Kuin Cerucuk V Banjarmasin. The program targeted students aged 8–12, a critical developmental stage for instilling environmentally responsible behaviour. Using a participatory approach, the activities included educational sessions, practical waste sorting exercises, and the installation of visual learning aids. Pre- and post-intervention assessments were conducted through direct observation and questionnaires to evaluate knowledge acquisition and behavioural changes. The results indicated a substantial improvement in students’ understanding of waste types and segregation practices. Prior to the intervention, 71.4% of students demonstrated limited knowledge, which shifted significantly post-intervention, with 71.4% achieving the highest knowledge category. Observable behavioural changes included consistent use of segregated waste bins and increased attentiveness to school cleanliness. The active involvement of teachers and school management contributed to the program’s success. However, sustainability challenges remain, including limited time for long-term mentoring, resource constraints among staff, and the absence of community-level waste infrastructure. Despite these obstacles, the project demonstrates that early environmental education, supported by collaboration and practical engagement, can effectively foster long-term behavioural change and lay the foundation for an environmentally conscious.
