Abstract

Agricultural and livestock businesses need development towards a better direction. One of the potentials for developing livestock and agricultural businesses is found in Kudi Village, Wonogiri Regency. This area faces challenges such as extreme poverty, susceptibility to landslides, and drought due to its topographical conditions. This program focuses on empowering two main partners, namely Gapoktan Kudi Makmur in the agricultural sector. Situation analysis identified a number of priority issues, including: the cashew processing production process, which is still manual, unhygienic, and high-risk; limited market access and the absence of product standardization. The implementation of community service activities adopts a sequential five-stage methodology, namely socialization, training, technology application, mentoring and evaluation, as well as institutional strengthening to ensure sustainability. Monitoring and evaluation results show significant progress. Notable achievements that have been realized include improvements in the quality and quantity of cashews, the establishment of the 'Kudiro' product brand, increased production capacity, and the diversification of processed cashew products. The conclusion of this community service activity is that an integrative approach combining technology transfer, human resource capacity building, and institutional strengthening has proven effective in creating a sustainable impact. This community service program provides solutions to technical problems at the production level and builds a cashew agricultural economic ecosystem.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that has long-term impacts on a child's physical and cognitive development. The Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) and the Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) reported that the incidence rate of stunting in Banda Aceh in 2023 was 21.7% (Diskominfo Banda Aceh, 2024). This prevalence rate has decreased compared to the previous year, but the achievement in 2024 still does not meet the target set by the Aceh government, which is 14% (Aceh Social Service, 2024). This highlights the urgency of this activity. The goal of the service is to provide direct and interactive education to the community and to enhance the capacity of posyandu counselors through training, as well as to conduct technology transfer in the form of modules and educational videos about stunting. This service has carried out technology transfer in the form of modules and educational videos about stunting, which are used in training health post counselors with the aim of increasing the knowledge and skills of cadres in educating the community. The measurement results show that training and technology transfer in the form of modules and educational videos increased the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of cadres and the community (p<0.05). Strengthening the implementation of this service needs to be carried out through improvements in posyandu procedures and regular monitoring and evaluation. Replication of this service can also be implemented to support program expansion and sustainability.

Abstract

Digital education plays a crucial role in the modern era, along with the rapid advancement of technology and the need for digital competencies in various sectors. In Lombok, educational challenges include limited internet access, lack of online learning infrastructure, low quality and competence of teachers in the use of digital media, and lack of continuous training. To answer these problems, Telkomsel initiated the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program through the Skul.id application with the main goal of improving access and quality of digital education, as well as empowering teachers and students on the island of Lombok. The method of implementing community service includes intensive training for teachers on the use of Skul.id platforms, technical and pedagogical assistance, provision of hardware and connectivity, and periodic monitoring and evaluation to ensure sustainability. It is hoped that this program can improve students' literacy and digital skills, improve teachers' teaching methods, and create a learning ecosystem that is inclusive and adaptive to technological developments. Potential impacts include increasing learning motivation, equitable distribution of educational opportunities, and strengthening collaboration between schools, communities, and the digital industry. The success of this program is also expected to be a replication model for similar initiatives in other regions of Indonesia.

Abstract

Southwest Maluku, particularly Kisar Island, has abundant natural resources that can be optimally managed to address food shortages. Meeting food needs through local wisdom is an essential capital that must be strengthened by both the government and the community. One of the island’s local potentials is the koli tree (Borassus flabellifer L.), which grows widely in Oirata Village. Its sap can be processed into koli palm sugar, which is highly nutritious and economically valuable. Unlike other sugar sources, the koli tree grows naturally without cultivation and can be tapped at any time. However, its production has not yet been properly managed to meet market demand. Through the Community Partnership Program, we introduced appropriate technology in the form of palm sugar cooking equipment to improve both the quality and quantity of koli palm sugar. This innovation is expected to expand its market beyond Kisar Island. The program includes community socialization, training on equipment use, production assistance, and product packaging with proper labeling, aiming to empower the people of Oirata Village and enhance their local enterprises.

Abstract

Stunting and anemia remain major public health problems in Indonesia, particularly in Maluku Province, where prevalence rates continue to exceed national targets. This community service program aimed to reduce the risk of stunting by integrating anemia screening with maternal health education in Dullah Laut and Tamadan Villages, Tual City. The program was implemented over three days and consisted of counseling sessions on nutrition, hygiene, and dietary practices; anemia screening; general health checks; and the distribution of vitamins to toddlers. Screening results showed that in Dullah Laut Village, only 21 children demonstrated good nutritional status, while 18 were categorized as poor, very poor, or bad. By contrast, in Tamadan Village, 35 children were in good nutritional condition, with only two classified as poor. Counseling activities engaged 57 mothers in Wab Village and 64 mothers in Debut Village, focusing on clean and healthy living behavior, worm infestation, anemia prevention, and toddler nutrition. These findings highlight the urgent need for targeted, community-based interventions to address nutritional challenges, particularly in areas with high poverty, sanitation problems, and limited parental knowledge. The integration of screening and health education through Posyandu proved to be an effective approach for enhancing maternal awareness and supporting early detection of anemia, with the potential to contribute to stunting reduction efforts in Southeast Maluku.

Abstract

Sembalun Bumbung Village faces significant challenges in maintaining a stable food supply and achieving economic resilience due to its location in a disaster-prone area. The region is at risk, making it dangerous to clear new land for agricultural cultivation. To address these issues, the Sembalun Mushroom Initiative aims to enhance food security and disaster resilience in the village by improving the quality of mushroom products and providing support in business management. The cultivation of straw mushrooms presents an alternative agricultural development that can support food security and boost the local economy. The advantages of straw mushroom cultivation include the fact that it does not require clearing new land or forests, and it typically yields good market prices. However, farmers in Sembalun Bumbung Village currently lack the knowledge and technology necessary to produce high-quality straw mushrooms and manage their businesses effectively. To help overcome these challenges, a community service team from the University of Mataram is assisting with advanced cultivation technology and business management practices. Their efforts include developing training programs that cover business management, marketing strategies, and resource management.
