Abstract

One of the problems often faced by home industry players (IRT) in Tetebatu is product packaging. Product packaging and design is an effective way as a promotional medium. Household products in Tetebatu village are still less varied so they look less attractive. The better the product packaging, the higher the expectation of increased sales which have an impact on the economic welfare of the community. The purpose of this pkm is to provide insight and skills to target partners about packaging and all things that bind the kemesan, be it design, information on products and legality. The method used in this pkm is socialization and training. The target partners are home industry players who have not realized the importance of packaging to increase sales, sales strategies and promotion. The pkm team together with the unizar technology business incubator provided several socializations and training for target partners including socialization of product packaging, socialization of the introduction of product packaging tools and machines and training on the types and packaging of products that can be used by partners. The visible results after the community service was carried out resulted in several modern and innovative packages, so that it will have an impact on Tetebatu tourism becoming more modern and innovative.

Abstract

The community initiative focuses on accelerating the digital transformation of the Gucang Farm catfish MSME through structured training on marketplace utilization and social media engagement. Pre-observations identified several gaps, including limited digital literacy, a minimal online presence, and weak promotional strategies, collectively hindering the competitiveness and revenue potential of local catfish producers in Tigaraksa District. To address these, the program provided a practical training module covering Google My Business registration, Tokopedia and TikTok Shop setup, product photo and video creation, persuasive product description writing, and basic e-commerce management. Participants were guided step-by-step in creating active marketplace accounts, uploading product catalogs, managing customer interactions, and implementing simple analytics to monitor online sales performance. The training also introduced strategies to enhance social media visibility and customer engagement, emphasizing consistency, storytelling, and content quality. Results demonstrated increased confidence and digital readiness among participants, with all groups successfully activating at least one marketplace or WhatsApp Business account. The initiative aligns with the targeted outcomes of improving online access, increasing monthly sales by 20–30%, and strengthening digital capacity among MSME members. Overall, this program actively demonstrates how practical, hands-on digital marketing training enhances MSME competitiveness and drives sustainable economic growth in local aquaculture communities.

Abstract

Limited access to economic resources and high levels of social vulnerability among rural communities necessitate empowerment strategies focused on the sustainable utilisation of local potential. This community service initiative is designed to optimise the use of backyard land as a means of strengthening the socio-economic resilience of the community in Gunungsari Village, West Lombok Regency. The programme is also aimed at supporting the fulfilment of nutritional needs and increasing household income, whilst simultaneously enhancing aesthetic value through the creation of a pleasant, cool, healthy and comfortable environment, and contributing as a means of physical activity to improve fitness and physical resilience. The programme is implemented using a participatory approach comprising the stages of needs identification, extension, technical cultivation training, mentoring, and sustainability evaluation. This activity involves 16 participants from the local community, supported by four lecturers from the Biology Education Study Programme at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mataram University. The crops developed include Capsicum annuum, Solanum melongena, Amaranthus sp., and Ocimum sp., utilising vertical farming models, pot cultivation, raised bed systems, and integrated fish farming through the rearing of catfish in buckets (budikdamber). The results of the implementation demonstrated an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills in the integrated management of crop and fish cultivation. The optimisation of backyards contributes to improved household food availability and opens up additional income opportunities. Socially, this activity promotes the strengthening of interaction, collaboration, and collective awareness within the community regarding the urgency of family-based food security as the foundation for sustainable socio-economic development.
