Abstract

The economic conflict between the US and China that began in 2018 employed tariff retaliation to pressure trade policies. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of retaliation in achieving economic and political objectives. A qualitative method with descriptive analysis was used to analyze trade data from the U.S. Census Bureau and USTR. Results show a 16% decline in US imports from China in 2019 and an increase in consumer prices. While retaliation protects domestic industries, its impacts include global supply chain disruptions and diplomatic tensions. In conclusion, retaliation effectively pressures trade but brings significant economic risks, requiring international cooperation for optimal outcomes. Retortion can protect domestic industry while also imposing an economic burden on consumers and producers. Apart from the direct economic impact, the retortion also affected diplomatic relations and political tensions between the two countries. Other case studies such as the European Union's sanctions against Russia show that the effectiveness of retortion depends greatly on the political and economic context of the targeted country

Abstract

Legal arrangements for settling bad debts at Islamic banks in accordance with the Sharia Banking Act can be through litigation and non-litigation channels. The settlement of litigation path is by submitting a lawsuit to the Religious Court, while the settlement through non-litigation channels is carried out through Basyarnas. The process of resolving bad debts based on sharia principles refers to banking legal provisions that are adjusted to the provisions of the DSN Fatwa and Compilation of Sharia Economic Law. The absolute competence of the Religious Courts in resolving financing is stalled on Islamic banks, which are still ambiquity. Because the absolute authority of the Religious Courts in resolving sharia banking disputes is then reduced after the issuance of the Sharia Banking Act which provides an opportunity for the General Court to resolve sharia banking disputes in accordance with the provisions of Article 52 paragraph (2) of the Sharia Banking Act.

Abstract

The sources of Islamic law are everything that becomes the basis for regulating the order of life of Muslims. Most scholars agree that the Koran is the main source of Islamic teachings, then hadith is the second source, and ijtihad is the third source. The Qur'an contains a collection of all the rules for whatever situations and conditions experienced by mankind. Rasulullah SAW as the recipient of the revelation explained the meaning of the Al-Qur'an both in words and deeds. The words and actions of the Prophet are known as hadith. In this way, the Al-Qur'an can be easily implemented by Muslims in their daily lives as a form of obedience to Allah SWT. However, when the Prophet died, there was no longer any place to ask about Islamic law, while world problems continued to develop along with the times, the Qur'an and hadith themselves ordered the ulama to undertake ijtihad to establish a new law for problems that did not exist. The law is in the Koran or hadith. In this way, the ijtihad of ulama is used as the third source of Islamic law. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative research type with library research (library study). The aim of the research is so that readers can know and understand the sources of Islamic teachings so that they are motivated to create a life in accordance with religious guidance.

Abstract

One of the agricultural products that is very necessary as a cooking spice is onions. Onions are a mandatory spice in every dish to add flavor and enjoyment to the dish. Onion plants are not limited to the season at which they are planted so farmers can plant onions at any time, especially shallots. Based on this, one of the Farmer Groups in Krejengan District, Probolinggo Regency, is a forum for deliberation regarding agriculture, especially shallots. In shallot farming in Krejengan District, in dealing with caterpillar and planthopper pests, chemical pesticides are often used excessively. This certainly hurts the health of those who consume shallots and the environmental impact. On the other hand, spraying chemical pesticides has large costs in purchasing pesticides and farmer labor. If this is not done, it will have an impact on reducing shallot crop production and even result in crop failure. This community service activity program aims to reduce the use of chemical pesticides for pest control, which of course can reduce the costs of purchasing pesticides and farmer labor. Apart from that, by reducing the use of chemical pesticides, those who consume shallots are healthier. By doing this, the Agro Makmur Farmers Group can maintain the shallot production yields by creating a pest control device or Caterpillar Pest Control (CPC) for solar cell-based shallot plants so that it is environmentally friendly.
