Abstract

This research aims to improve the cognitive intelligence of early childhood at Arastamar Kids PAUD using a play method approach. Considering that children tend to spend much time playing from an early age and their cognitive abilities are still weak, it is important to apply the right approach to educating them. Early childhood education plays an important role in children’s mental, emotional and social development, especially in the 0-8-year phase. The play method was chosen as the main strategy in learning because it is considered capable of providing a fun and effective experience for children’s intellectual development. This service program is carried out at PAUD Arastamar Kids in Pekanbaru by involving teachers and students in a series of play activities designed to stimulate children’s critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This activity is held every Monday to Saturday from 08.00 to 11.00 WIB, with play sessions held before and after formal learning. The evaluation results show a significant increase in students’ cognitive intelligence, demonstrated through increased academic grades and ability to complete creative tasks. The play method approach has proven to be effective in creating a fun and interactive learning environment, as well as contributing positively to children’s cognitive development.

Abstract

The Indonesian Christian Faithful Church (GKSI) Antiochia, located in East Jakarta on Kalimalang main road, serves as the location for this Community Service implementation. Based on observations and surveys conducted, worship apathy among Generation Z appears to be quite significant, particularly in their involvement in Youth worship services. This condition is exacerbated by their high dependency on gadgets and social media, along with the minimal role of spiritual mentors in facilitating meaningful worship experiences. In response to these conditions, this Community Service program aims to fulfill the need for contextual worship guidance. The objective is for Generation Z at GKSI Antiochia to experience transformation in their worship life, understand the essence of true worship (John 4:23-24), and grow into a generation of faithful worshippers. The Community Service implementation employs participatory observation methods, personal mentoring, group discussions, and worship workshops supported by literature studies. The results demonstrate significant transformation in Generation Z's understanding and practice of worship, marked by increased involvement in church services and deepened personal relationship with God.

Abstract

Marginalised communities in Manado often face multifaceted challenges—economic, social, cultural, and spiritual—that restrict their access to basic rights and hinder personal development. Counselling conversations are introduced as a holistic intervention, addressing not only material needs but also emotional and spiritual dimensions. This approach aims to enhance critical awareness, build individual resilience, and foster spaces for healing and empowerment. Combining participatory and contextual methods, it involves the community actively in the counselling process while adapting interventions to their specific realities. Techniques include in-depth interviews, group discussions, and collaborative reflection to identify issues and co-create solutions. Findings show marked improvements in participants’ self-confidence, critical thinking, and capacity to initiate social change. Enhanced interpersonal relationships and a renewed sense of meaning in life further support their journey out of marginalisation. Counselling thus emerges as both a spiritual support mechanism and a transformative tool for inclusive community empowerment.

Abstract

Community service at GKSI Pondok Natai aims to overcome low congregational participation in worship through an innovative approach based on digital technology. The main problem is the declining interest of the congregation in worship due to monotonous praise music and the challenges of work in the plantation sector that make it difficult to attend on Sundays. The research method used a qualitative approach through participatory observation and literature study, with stages including pastoral visits, YouTube utilization education, congregation group formation, and member involvement in the service. Program implementation was carried out for four months with a focus on transforming spiritual experiences using digital technology. Results showed a significant increase in congregational attendance of up to 90%, a change in spiritual mindset, and increased enthusiasm for service. In conclusion, the innovative YouTube-based approach successfully transformed congregational participation from passive to active, proving the effectiveness of digital strategies in fostering contemporary spiritual life.

Abstract

This Community Service Program was conducted at STAK Arastamar Grimenawa Jayapura from January 13-15, 2025. The background of this service stems from the need to enhance lecturers' competencies in utilizing AI technology as a digital assistant for academic writing. The program aims to introduce and train lecturers in using AI technology responsibly to produce high-quality scientific works that align with Christian values. The implementation method comprises five stages: observation, planning, training execution, academic study writing, and evaluation. The novelty of this service lies in integrating technical aspects of AI usage with Christian spiritual values in the context of academic writing at theological education institutions. The results show significant improvement in lecturers' ability to utilize AI applications to enhance grammar quality, originality, and structure of scientific articles while maintaining spiritual and academic integrity. This program successfully bridges academic needs with theological missions through ethical and responsible use of AI technology.

Abstract

Abstract The Community Service activity titled "Making Disciples of All Nations" will take place from October 22 to 27, 2024, in Singapore. This event aims to equip participants from 14 countries with the skills needed for cross-national discipleship missions. With approximately 100 attendees, the program will cover the principles of Discipling Nations (DN), Making Disciples of All Nations (MDN), and Preparing My People for End Times (PET). Participants will engage in presentations, discussions, practical skills training, and the development of follow-up action plans. This comprehensive approach will help them understand how to embody Christian values within a global context. As a result, participants will be able to comprehend and devise discipleship strategies tailored to their national contexts. They will also be prepared to become effective Gospel messengers and tackle end-times challenges. This program not only enhances participants' discipleship capabilities but also guides them in contributing to national transformation and building congregations that are ready to adapt to changing circumstances.
