Abstract

This Community Service is conducted at GKSI Imanuel Santulangan, in Lamoanak Village, West Kalimantan. The methods used are observation, investigation, and literature review. The implementation of the activity aims to form understanding and guide the congregation at GKSI Imanuel regarding the importance of worship fellowship. The background to implementing PkM was that the congregation at GKSI Imanuel did not care much about worship fellowship. This can be seen in the small number of congregants who attend every Sunday service, which only a few people often attend. The congregation at GKSI Immanuel numbers more than thirty people. Referring to this problem, this service is presented as an alternative form of problem-solving. The ideas offered are to motivate and encourage each other in love, be diligent and diligent in worship, advise each other, and be active in worship. The solution offered is based on Hebrews 10:24-25. The results are that the congregation at GKSI Immanuel truly understands the importance of worship fellowship and has actualized it.

Abstract

English education must be taught in every school at every level because English is currently a unifying language between countries or an international language. Not much different from English education, Christian religious education is also a mandatory lesson that must be held at every level of education because it is the basis and principles of the Christian faith, focusing on biblical principles, character, etc. Including English language education and Christian religious education as mandatory subjects at the primary school level has a terrible impact on children, resulting in village children falling behind cognitively and being unable to compete with students who receive education in cities. Therefore, the author took the initiative to dedicate himself to improving village children by holding English lessons that were open to the public and holding a Sunday School for Christian children. The approach method that the author used was quite effective, as evidenced by the increasing enthusiasm of the children in participating in the existing program. Even though there are many pros and cons from various parties, the author is grateful that the program that the author has implemented has produced satisfactory results, as proven by the children's starting to understand the basics of learning that the author shares.

Abstract

The Young Catholics (OMK) are individuals born and raised within the Catholic tradition from adolescence to early adulthood. Young people often undergo critical identity and faith development during this phase. OMK currently faces challenges and changes in an increasingly complex and dynamic world. Globalisation, technology, and social changes influence their perspectives on their faith values. The objective of this service is to provide spiritual guidance to OMK, enabling them to understand better and embrace their faith. Activities are conducted through lectures and materials on the Catholic faith, interspersed with games, group dynamics, songs and movements, and practical worship practices. The method used in analysing the results of this CommunityService is qualitative. The outcomes obtained reveal that through the service conducted, OMK has gained additional knowledge and understanding of the values of the Catholic faith.

Abstract

The movement of an organization cannot be separated from the role of a leader. Still, an important question is what kind of leadership model is suitable to be applied in an oikoum Church organization, in this case, the Papuan Churches Association in West Papua Province. Indeed, what kind of leadership model or style is suitable for developing a complex and pluralistic religious organization such as PGGP West Papua? Can the current leadership model answer the various fundamental problems the West Papua PGGP organization faces? FGD activities get input from participants who are very enthusiastic about participating in this activity. These inputs benefit the future development of West Papua PGGP by considering the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The results of these inputs will provide input for the West Papua PGGP management to carry out appropriate strategies to develop the West Papua PGGP organization in the future in entering the current era of globalization.

Abstract

The inner child is a part of someone's life that is formed from the time of conception until the age of 12. Therefore, parents play a crucial role in shaping the inner child. If someone has a wounded inner child, it will manifest unconsciously throughout adulthood, both in actions and feelings. One thing a parent can do is regulate their child's emotions. An educational class for parents held at the Bandung City Blessing City Square Church aims to raise awareness regarding the importance of understanding the inner child and emotional regulation in children. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, where the author conducted a literature study to present the material for this educational class. Doing this activity resulted in participants giving positive responses, indicating that the class provided knowledge and skills that can be directly applied. Participants also suggested that educational courses should be conducted regularly and counselling should be available for parents to enhance their parenting abilities further.

Abstract

This service activity was held at SMPTK Sola Gracia Arastamar in Ranta Bella Village, Latimojong District, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi. The PkM was held because many students at SMPTK Sola Gracia were experiencing moral degradation, such as being impolite, liking to curse, stealing and neglecting spiritual activities. This activity answers this problem by conducting education on applicable character education topics based on Christian religious values. The methods used are observation, two-way discussion, and library research. The results showed that SMPTK students who experienced problems after participating in PkM activities showed a behavioural transformation following moral values and Biblical principles. This activity will continue in the advanced monitoring stage, where the PkM team will control the students so that the activities carried out provide satisfactory and sustainable results.

Abstract

Violence against women is inevitable in today’s society. This violence cannot be rejected because the apparent fact is that women cannot resist or reduce it. One of the factors causing it is the stigma about women who should be in second place in society so that they must obey and not argue, which is still rooted very firmly. On this basis, the activities of Dedication to the Society through seminars are carried out. This activity aims to shape and change the paradigm of thinking about the identity and existence of women in stigmatization so that they are capable and influential in the struggle to end violence. The methods used in this activity are lectures, discussions, opinions, and presentations. As for the outcome of this activity, the women at GMIT Jemaat Sion Oepura Kupang have a new paradigm of thinking about women, specifically their identity and their position in a patriarchal society, to reduce and break the chain of violence against women.

Abstract

Teenage life is a life of searching for one's identity. In these times, it is essential to be able to lay the foundations of Christianity in their lives so that teenagers do not make the wrong choices. Two fundamental doctrines teenagers need to know are Christian soteriology and Christian anthropology. Soteriology discusses how God's plan of salvation works in the lives of teenagers. Anthropology examines the self-image of teenagers whom the blood of Christ has redeemed. Understanding these two fundamental doctrines is very important in the lives of today's teenagers. Based on this need, SMP Kristen YSKI held Community Service activities as a Refreshing Course, which was held for class VIII SMP. This activity was carried out because class VIII students had never been provided with the fundamental doctrines of Christianity, especially those of soteriology and Biblical anthropology. This activity will be held on January 11-12, 2024, at Wisma Elika Bandungan, Central Java. The resource person used interactive lectures and question-and-answer methods to guide students. Students have received the necessary provision so that they understand this central doctrine of Christianity. In the end, a correct understanding of salvation and a Biblical self-image will determine their future steps in life by the teachings of the Bible.

Abstract

The form of maturation of God's people is through service, and the Church needs God's servants to carry out Church service tasks. The younger generation needs to be involved because they need to be equipped and prepared for the continuity of the Church in the future. If they are not engaged, developed, and prepared for Christ, the world's ungodliness will attract them, and the Church has no future. Therefore, the aim of the Ecclesiastical Community Service in this research is to provide service provision for prospective ministers at GBI Gosyen Blessing. It is done so that those who have served do not fall into the wrong motivation for service and are competent in carrying out their Church service responsibilities. Those who have not yet served should start to be prepared and given an overview so that they will be stronger when serving. The qualitative research method uses data collection techniques such as observation, interview, literature study, and documentation. The implementation method is through seminars and simulations. The result of this activity was excellent because it practically increased the knowledge and skills that participants could put into practice directly. Church leaders also need to know the strategies for the movement of the Church in the future.

Abstract

The Bible is a series of writings that God has given to man. In the Christian faith, the Bible is the Word of God and through it, the people can know what is in God's heart. However, to understand the Bible, we must use various ways to make the writings in it easy to understand. One village that faces directly from the Indian Ocean Betaet needs to be considered in the development of faith and spirituality. In Betaet village, the composition of the Christian and Muslim populations has gone hand in hand in the last five years. The PkM team took the segment of the youth and youth categories to become a coaching community. Coaching activities are given after first observing what is needed for coaching in Betaet. With the lecture and semi-workshop method, the PkM Team guides teenagers and youth at the GKPM Betaet Church After participating in the coaching, adolescents and young men have a practical, simple, and easy method of understanding the Bible that encourages them to regularly read the Bible in their respective homes. Thirty-six participants who took part in the training felt a change in their lives and were determined to live in faith in Christ Jesus alone. It is hoped that similar activities will be given in Betaet for the category of Mother, Father, and children so that they have a fresh, strong, and agile spiritual life in Christ Jesus every day.
