Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the United States' involvement in the conflict between Iran and Israel through the provision of military aid to Israel, as well as its implications for the principles of neutrality, collective defense, and the laws of war from an international legal perspective. This study uses a normative qualitative research method with a juridical-analytical approach to various international legal instruments, such as the Hague Convention, the United Nations Charter, and the doctrines of jus ad bellum and jus in bello. The results of the study indicate that the form of strategic support from the United States, which includes the supply of defense equipment and intelligence collaboration, not only exceeds the boundaries of the principle of neutrality but also exploits the principle of collective defense unilaterally without formal legitimacy from the UN Security Council. Furthermore, this involvement contributes to violations of international humanitarian law, particularly in the context of proportionality and the protection of civilians. The implications of this research indicate the need to reinterpret and strengthen oversight mechanisms regarding the practice of third-state intervention in armed conflicts, in order to prevent the delegitimization of international law and maintain stability and justice in the global system.

Abstract

This research examines the application of restorative justice in handling minor crimes in Indonesia as an alternative to the retributive approach in the criminal justice system. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a juridical-sociological approach, this study includes literature reviews, policy analysis, and interviews with law enforcement officials and minor offenders. The findings indicate that restorative justice contributes positively by accelerating case resolution, reducing recidivism, and restoring social relationships between offenders, victims, and the community. However, its implementation faces challenges such as limited human resources, uneven understanding among officers, and the lack of clear standard operating procedures. The implications of this research emphasize the need for criminal policy reform based on local values and strengthening the capacity of law enforcement officers to implement restorative justice nationwide.

Abstract

In an era of increasing business competition and dynamic digital transformation, employee performance becomes a crucial factor for the success of banking institutions such as Bank Jatim Lamongan. Work-life balance and employee competence are two important aspects that can influence this performance. Additionally, work motivation acts as a key driver in enhancing employee productivity and effectiveness. Therefore, this study aims to examine the influence of work-life balance and employee competence on employee performance, with work motivation as a mediating variable. The research object is the employees of Bank Jatim Lamongan branch. The approach used is quantitative with explanatory research methods, where data were collected through research instruments and analyzed statistically to test the relationships between variables. The results show that employee competence and work motivation have a significant positive effect on performance, while work-life balance only affects work motivation and does not directly impact employee performance. These findings emphasize the importance of managing competence and motivation to improve employee performance in the banking environment.

Abstract

Abstract: The increasingly intense competition in the modern banking industry demands strategic human resource (HR) management to maintain competitive advantage. The success of financial institutions, particularly Bank Jatim as one of the largest regional development banks in Indonesia, is determined not only by asset and profit growth but also by the quality of employee performance, as they serve as the frontline in delivering services. Internal challenges such as the effectiveness of reward programs, the relevance of training, and variations in employee work motivation have the potential to affect the company’s target achievement, despite positive trends in financial indicators. This study aims to analyze the effect of rewards and training on employee performance at Bank Jatim, Lumajang Branch, with work motivation as an intervening variable. The study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design, involving 127 employees as respondents. Data were collected using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicate that rewards and training have a significant positive effect on employee performance, while work motivation does not significantly affect performance nor mediate the influence of the two variables. Rewards have the strongest effect through interpersonal recognition, while training is more impactful through instructor quality, though the relevance of training materials still needs improvement. Work motivation tends to be high in terms of self-actualization but low in terms of job security, thus limiting its contribution to performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Work Facilities, Time Management, Social Prestige, and Work Culture on Workplace Selection by Generation Z in the South Bandung area. Generation Z is known to have unique characteristics in choosing a workplace, where aspects of digital convenience, time flexibility, work values, and work environment are top priorities. The approach used is quantitative with the SmartPLS-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method version 4, with a total of 150 respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques. The results of the study show that the variables of Work Facilities, Time Management, and Work Culture have a positive and significant effect on Workplace Selection. Meanwhile, the Social Prestige variable did not show a significant influence. The R-square value of 54.3% indicates that this research model is able to explain more than half of the variability of workplace selection decisions by Generation Z. These findings provide important implications for companies in designing recruitment and retention strategies for young workers, with an emphasis on facility comfort, work flexibility, and adaptive work culture.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of organizational performance in ensuring that the company can achieve strategic goals effectively and efficiently. TWWHA JO as a consortium company engaged in the construction sector faces internal challenges, such as suboptimal work coordination, varying levels of work discipline, ineffective communication between divisions, and uneven quality of human resources. The results of the study indicate that although job discipline, communication, to a certain degree, organizational structure has a positive and major impact on performance, while human resource quality has a negative and large impact on organizational performance. With a determination coefficient (R2) value of 66.2%, the four independent variables simultaneously have a significant impact on organizational performance. This indicates that organizational structure, work discipline, communication, and human resource quality account for 66.2% of the variation in organizational performance, with other factors outside the scope of this study influencing the remaining 33.8%. These findings provide implications for TWWHA JO management to pay more attention to improving the organizational structure to be more adaptive, strengthening work discipline with appropriate policies, increasing the effectiveness of cross-divisional communication, and more targeted HR quality development programs to support improving organizational performance

Abstract

This study examines the impact of long-term relationships (LTR) and process integration (PI) on company performance, with supply chain management (SCM) as a mediator, using a quantitative approach and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). Data from 88 suppliers in PT Paiton Operation and Maintenance Indonesia were analyzed. Results show that PI positively influences SCM, and SCM significantly enhances company performance. LTR, while important, lacks impact when it remains solely contractual and without collaborative planning. SCM is crucial for improving operational efficiency and reducing costs. This research highlights the strategic importance of SCM in linking relational and structural factors to performance outcomes, supporting frameworks like Relational View, Transaction Cost Economics, and Dynamic Capabilities Theory. The study suggests enhancing LTR through collaborative SCM practices and extending PI for optimal performance improvement.

Abstract

This study compares the effectiveness of Instagram and TikTok content strategies in enhancing engagement and brand awareness for Tomoro Coffee in Medan, Indonesia. A qualitative case study approach was used, employing the Circular Model of SoMe (Share, Optimize, Manage, Engage) as the analytical framework. Data were gathered through content analysis, interviews with brand representatives, and observations at 10+ outlets. Findings show that Instagram builds consistent brand identity through curated storytelling, while TikTok drives user engagement via viral content. However, centralized content production and lack of local customization reduce emotional resonance in regional markets. The study concludes that Instagram supports long-term branding, while TikTok aids rapid visibility. Recommendations include decentralizing content creation, involving local teams, and aligning strategies with local culture.
