Abstract

This study investigates the effect of digital payment systems on the sales level of MSMEs in the Medan City Market Center using a qualitative phenomenological approach. The research focused on fashion-sector MSMEs that had been operating for more than three years and had experience using digital payments such as bank transfers, DANA, and OVO in their business activities. Data was obtained through observation and in-depth interviews with purposively selected informants. The results showed that the implementation of digital payment systems contributed to increased transaction convenience, expanded consumer access, and operational effectiveness, which generally had a positive impact on sales growth. However, obstacles were also identified, including limited digital literacy, consumer preference for cash payments, and MSME concerns about transaction security. This research emphasizes the importance of digitalization for MSMEs to adapt to the current of modern economic transformation, while also considering social, cultural, and technological readiness aspects in traditional market environments.

Abstract

Digital fraud impersonating PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has become an alarming phenomenon that causes financial and psychological harm to victims. This study explores victims’ lived experiences using a phenomenological approach within a qualitative framework through in-depth interviews and social media observations. The findings show that victims experienced not only financial loss but also emotional distress such as panic, trauma, and a decline in trust toward banking institutions. These experiences influenced how victims interpret digital communication, fostering skepticism toward online information. The phenomenological analysis reveals that meaning is constructed through the interaction of language, past experiences, and awareness of new realities after the fraud. The study emphasizes the need for digital literacy, empathetic communication, and preventive education from financial institutions to restore public trust and strengthen resilience against cybercrime.

Abstract

This study examines the educational communication strategies of Prophet Muhammad SAW as presented in As-Sirah An-Nabawiyah by Ali Muhammad Ash-Shallabi, in response to the degradation of values in contemporary Islamic education. The purpose of this research is to reconstruct a prophetic educational communication model that is relevant to the challenges of the present era. The method employed is descriptive qualitative with a library research approach, utilizing primary sources and content analysis. Data were derived from historical narratives of the Prophet’s educational practices across various social contexts. The findings reveal that the Prophet’s educational communication is transcendental, humanistic, and emancipatory in nature, and proven to be effective in shaping Islamic character. These findings recommend the reinforcement of prophetic communication values within the curriculum and praxis of modern Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social condition of Islamic education in Gunungsitoli, the contribution of the Ummi Kalsum Islamic Boarding School in Islamic Education in Gunungsitoli, and the involvement of alumni of the Ummi Kalsum Islamic Boarding School in the development of Islamic and social education in Gunungsitoli. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques with observation, interviews, and document studies. The results of the research in this thesis first; highlight that the development of Islamic education in Gunungsitoli is not as fast as in areas with a majority Muslim population. The main factor influencing this is Gunungsitoli's status as an area with a minority Muslim population, which makes Islamic education have to compete with other education systems that may be more dominant. In this context, the biggest challenge is how to increase the attractiveness of Islamic education in the midst of the diversity of society. Second; the contribution of the pesantren extends to the surrounding community through various service activities. Pesantren actively organizes programs such as religious counseling, social service skills training, and community-based economic empowerment activities. These activities are designed to provide real benefits to the community, while strengthening the role of pesantren as a center for the development of the people. Third; the contribution of alumni who return to Gunungsitoli to teach, become religious leaders, and support the construction of Islamic boarding schools. Alumni of the pesantren function as a liaison that strengthens the social network between the pesantren and the community.

Abstract

This study critically examines the articulation of subaltern consciousness in Baburao Bagul’s short story collection When I Hid My Caste Stories, a foundational text in Dalit literature. Through a close analysis of ten selected stories, the research investigates how Bagul formulates a distinctive Dalit literary aesthetic grounded in the intersecting themes of vidroha (revolt), vedana (pain), and nakar (dissent). These thematic vectors constitute the foundational grammar of Dalit expression, encapsulating both personal and collective experiences of caste-based marginalization existence in modern India. Moving beyond a mere documentation of systemic oppression, Bagul’s narratives delve into the psychological, social, and existential dimensions of Dalit life. They reveal the complex interplay of caste discrimination, economic marginalization, gender subjugation, and cultural erasure, while simultaneously foregrounding Dalit resistance, agency, and evolving identity. Bagul’s literary strategies transform individual trauma into a universal humanistic discourse centred on dignity and survival. The analysis is informed by a theoretical framework that combines subaltern studies, intersectionality, and Dalit literary criticism. This study argues that Bagul’s work not only occupies a foundational place in Indian literature, but also offers a powerful model for the aesthetics of subaltern representation and protest within modern Indian literary discourse.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education is a primary requirement in the era of globalization and the Industrial Revolution 4.0. One strategic effort undertaken by schools is the implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS). This study aims to analyze the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 in realizing a quality culture transformation at SMK Negeri 1 Surabaya, focusing on the implementation of ISO principles, organizational culture changes, and supporting and inhibiting factors. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 at SMK Negeri 1 Surabaya was carried out systematically through quality policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), internal audits, and management reviews. The principles of customer focus, leadership, and continuous improvement contributed significantly to improved school performance and the growth of a quality culture oriented towards accountability, openness, and continuous improvement. The transformation of organizational culture is evident in the increased quality awareness of the school community and cross-unit collaboration. Key success factors include visionary leadership, active participation of the school community, and support from industry partners, while obstacles include resistance to change and a lack of understanding of ISO principles. Overall, the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 at SMK Negeri 1 Surabaya has proven to be a significant catalyst in realizing the transformation of the school's quality culture. This system not only strengthens governance and managerial effectiveness but also changes the mindset of the school community to be more reflective, collaborative, and oriented towards sustainable quality. This research implies that strengthening human resource competencies and leadership commitment are key to the successful implementation of an ISO-based quality system in vocational education units.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of local wisdom in environmental conservation and the management of Namu Tourism Village in South Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, the research explores how customary values guide ecological practices. The findings show that prohibitions on illegal logging, collective water management, mutual cooperation (mosiho kampo), and nature-honoring rituals (moduo wonua) function as effective community-based mechanisms for preserving environmental balance. In tourism management, the application of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) encourages active community participation in regulating tourist activities and maintaining ecological sustainability. However, challenges arise from generational shifts in values, limited documentation of customary norms, and risks of cultural commercialization. Despite these constraints, opportunities exist through local government support and digital cultural promotion. The study concludes that integrating local wisdom, community participation, and adaptive cultural practices is essential for sustainable tourism development in Namu Village.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of entrepreneurship training on the vitality of community businesses by considering the mediating role of entrepreneurial intentions in micro and small businesses in the culinary sub-sector in Cisitu, Darmaraja, Wado, Jatinunggal, and Jatigede Districts, Sumedang Regency. The study population included 984 culinary MSMEs, with a sample of 300 respondents. Data were collected through a survey method using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) assisted by SmartPLS 4.1 software. The results showed that respondents rated entrepreneurship training, entrepreneurial intentions, and business viability as moderate (56.61%, 66.79%, and 49.26%), indicating a positive impact but still requiring strengthening. SEM-PLS analysis confirmed that entrepreneurship training had a positive and significant effect on business viability directly (path coefficient = 0.125; t-count = 2.333; p = 0.020) and on entrepreneurial intentions (path coefficient = 0.243; t-count = 4.015; p = 0.000). More importantly, entrepreneurial intentions were shown to significantly mediate the effect of training on business viability (indirect path coefficient = 0.049; t-count = 2.480; p = 0.013). This finding is supported by previous research that emphasized the importance of intentions as a mediator in the relationship between training and business sustainability.

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing deviant behavior and low learning motivation in students at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa, and how teacher competency and school strategies influence these dynamics in the context of implementing the Independent Curriculum and character education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, this study involved 30 students selected through purposive sampling, as well as teachers and education personnel as supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques and assisted by NVivo 14 software for theme coding. The results indicate that deviant behavior and low learning motivation are closely related to teacher competency in implementing values-based learning, authentic assessment, and differentiated learning. Furthermore, the study revealed a significant gap between teachers' actual abilities and the demands of the Independent Curriculum, necessitating reinforcement through needs-based Teacher Professional Development (TPD) planning. These findings provide important implications: schools need to build a systematic character education ecosystem supported by ongoing teacher professional development to more effectively transform student behavior and learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the legal protection of digital copyrighted works in the social media era, focusing on a case study of the dispute between musician Indra Lesmana and a music label. Using a normative juridical approach and a case study method, this study examines the legal provisions of Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright and its implementation in the context of digital distribution through platforms such as YouTube and streaming services. The results of the study indicate that although the moral and economic rights of creators have been clearly regulated in regulations, digital distribution practices still leave room for violations, primarily due to outdated licensing contracts that are not adaptive to technological developments. The Indra Lesmana dispute is a concrete example of the weak bargaining position of creators, when labels use digital systems such as Content ID and DRM to claim exclusive rights to copyrighted works. This study concludes that legal protection in the digital realm is not yet fully effective and that contract reformulation and more responsive dispute resolution mechanisms are needed to ensure that creators' rights remain protected amidst the massive expansion of digital distribution.
