Abstract

Flash floods cause not only physical damage but also psychological impacts on children as a vulnerable group. Although various post-disaster trauma recovery programs have been developed, community service studies that integrate child psychosocial intervention, parental involvement, and local volunteer capacity building within a community-based recovery model remain limited. This community service program aimed to implement a community-based trauma recovery strategy for children affected by flash floods in the Aceh Tamiang–Langkat region. The program involved 35 children aged 6–12 years who were directly affected by the disaster. A participatory approach was applied through initial assessment, psychosocial intervention, psychoeducation, and pre-post intervention evaluation. Data were collected using a simple psychosocial observation sheet covering indicators of anxiety, emotional expression, social interaction, sense of safety, and child participation, supported by brief interviews with parents and local volunteers. The data were analyzed descriptively by comparing children’s conditions before and after the intervention. The intervention consisted of play therapy, drawing, storytelling, collaborative games, and structured group activities. The results showed that 74% of children experienced reduced anxiety, 80% demonstrated improved emotional expression, and 77% showed increased social interaction. In addition, the involvement of parents and local volunteers strengthened social support and contributed to program sustainability. These findings indicate that community-based trauma recovery can serve as a relevant, practical, and sustainable psychosocial intervention model for addressing children’s psychological needs in post-disaster contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the digital communication of PLN UP3 Sibolga in disseminating public service information through social media, focusing on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and human touch in public relations practices. While previous studies have examined digital communication and AI in public relations, studies that integrate both aspects in local public service contexts remain limited. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with public relations personnel and documentation of social media content. The results show that digital communication has been utilized to support the dissemination of public service information, with AI functioning as a supporting tool to improve efficiency in content production. However, human involvement remains essential to ensure clarity, empathy, and appropriateness of the message. In addition, digital communication through social media has not fully replaced the public's need for direct communication. Therefore, effective public service communication requires the integration of technological utilization with a humanistic approach to ensure that information is properly understood by the public.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ perspectives on influencer endorsement in the marketing of local G2G skincare products on Instagram. The increasing use of influencers in digital marketing strategies reflects a shift in marketing communication patterns; however, limited studies have specifically examined how students, as consumers, interpret influencer endorsement in the context of local products. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with students of Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara who actively use social media. The findings indicate that influencer endorsement is perceived as a factor influencing interest and trust in products, particularly when influencers are considered credible, relevant to the product, and demonstrate authentic usage experiences. However, students do not passively accept endorsement content; instead, they engage in critical evaluation of the information presented. Furthermore, trust in the product is influenced not only by influencers but also by personal experience, peer reviews, and brand reputation. This study highlights that the effectiveness of influencer endorsement in marketing local skincare products depends not merely on influencer popularity, but on perceived credibility and relevance from the consumers’ perspective.

Abstract

This study examines the normalization of bullying on TikTok as a form of symbolic violence and explores how audience reception contributes to its social legitimation. Using a qualitative content analysis approach, the study analyzes comments and interactions from selected TikTok videos that contain derogatory expressions, symbolic labeling, and identity-based attacks. The data were collected through purposive sampling and analyzed using coding, categorization, and interpretive analysis based on Stuart Hall’s audience reception framework. The findings show that bullying on TikTok operates not only through direct insults but also through sarcasm, stereotypes, symbolic labeling, and visual cues that subtly degrade individuals. The normalization process occurs through repetitive comments, collective interactions, and digital engagement, such as likes and replies, which function as mechanisms of social validation. Audience reception is dominated by hegemonic and negotiated readings, where derogatory expressions are accepted as humor or ordinary interaction, while oppositional readings remain limited. These findings highlight the need to strengthen critical digital literacy so that users are better able to recognize, resist, and respond to symbolic forms of bullying in digital interactions.

Abstract

Global climate change and rising greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions demand an accelerated transition from fossil fuels to sustainable energy systems. Floating solar power plants (FSPs) are one strategy for integrating renewable and conventional energy sources by utilizing water bodies without causing land-use conflicts. However, this implementation faces challenges related to fluctuations in solar irradiance, aquatic environmental characteristics, and economic uncertainty in investment, particularly for self-consumption schemes at existing power plants such as the Tambak Lorok Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) in Semarang City. This study aims to analyze the technical feasibility, contribution to CO₂ emission reduction, and economic viability of developing a floating PV plant at Tambak Lorok. The research methodology employs a quantitative-analytical approach based on secondary data and system simulation. The study utilizes data on solar irradiance, meteorology, technical specifications of modules and inverters, electricity consumption data from the gas-fired power plant, and project economic parameters. The analysis was conducted through technical, environmental, economic, and integrative approaches. The results show that a 1.166 MWp floating solar power plant system is capable of generating approximately 1,810 MWh of electricity per year, with a performance ratio (PR) of around 85%, indicating efficient system performance. From an environmental perspective, this system has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1,085 tons of CO₂ per year, or about 32,558 tons of CO₂ over the project’s 30-year lifespan.Economically, the project is deemed viable, with a net present value (NPV) of Rp5.45 billion, an internal rate of return (IRR) of 12.8%, and a payback period of 11.48 years. These results indicate that the development of a floating solar power plant in Tambak Lorok is technically feasible, provides significant environmental benefits, and is economically profitable, thereby having the potential to serve as a model for the energy transition of fossil-fuel-based power plants in Indonesia.

Abstract

The massive floods in Sumatra in 2025–2026 resulted in significant loss of life and economic damage, driven by a combination of extreme weather and environmental degradation linked to business activities. This situation underscores that disaster management is not solely the responsibility of government, but also of the private sector. In Indonesian business law, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) constitutes a legal obligation for companies to address the social and environmental impacts of their operations. Therefore, strengthening CSR is crucial as an instrument for sustainable flood mitigation and recovery. This study aims to analyze the role and position of CSR in flood management in Sumatra, to reinforce CSR policies so they contribute more effectively to prevention and mitigation, and to examine corporate accountability when CSR is not optimally implemented, leading to environmental damage and increased flood risk. This research adopts a normative legal method with a descriptive-analytical approach, using statutory and case-based analysis. The data consist of secondary sources, including primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials, collected through literature and document review and analyzed qualitatively. CSR in flood management functions as a strategic legal instrument for environmental prevention and recovery. Its optimization is essential to strengthen environmental protection and the resilience of flood-prone areas. CSR must shift from a charitable approach to a risk- and sustainability-based framework integrated with environmental and disaster law. Stronger ESG regulation, oversight, and reporting are necessary. Corporate accountability for suboptimal CSR includes administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions, alongside governance and reputational consequences, grounded in precautionary and polluter-pays principles.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has fundamentally transformed business legal systems, demanding more adaptive and responsive regulatory frameworks. In Indonesia, the Job Creation Law was enacted through an omnibus law approach to simplify regulations and support the digital economy; however, its implementation continues to face significant challenges, including regulatory disharmony, normative gaps, and legal uncertainty. This study analyzes the dynamics of the Job Creation Law's implementation in responding to digital disruption in Indonesia's business law sector, along with the challenges encountered and the government's role in regulatory harmonization. Using a normative legal method with a descriptive-analytical approach, this study employs statutory and case-based approaches, drawing on secondary data analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that while the Job Creation Law has successfully shifted business law toward a more adaptive, risk-based regulatory paradigm, its implementation remains constrained by cross-sectoral regulatory fragmentation, jurisdictional limitations in the borderless digital economy, and insufficient institutional capacity and digital legal infrastructure. The harmonization of business law in the digital era ultimately depends on policy consistency, inter-agency synergy, and a sustained balance between fostering innovation and ensuring adequate legal protection for all stakeholders.

Abstract

Cash waqf (wakaf uang) represents a significant Islamic philanthropic instrument with considerable potential for productive economic empowerment and poverty alleviation. Despite an estimated national potential exceeding IDR 180 trillion annually, actual realization remains below 1% due to complex structural barriers. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of cash waqf in productive economic empowerment while identifying key constraints and optimization strategies within a maqashid syariah framework. Employing a qualitative descriptive-analytical systematic literature review, the research reviewed legislation, fatwas, institutional reports, and peer-reviewed articles published between 2015–2025. Findings reveal three principal results: (1) cash waqf possesses a robust legal foundation through Law No. 41 of 2004 and MUI Fatwa No. 2 of 2002, yet a significant implementation gap persists between legal norms and field practice; (2) primary constraints are systemic and interrelated, encompassing low public literacy, weak nadzir capacity, insufficient fiscal incentives, and digitalization deficits; and (3) effective optimization requires an integrated ecosystem approach comprising governance strengthening, digital platform development, and cross-sectoral institutional synergy. The novelty of this study lies in its integration of legal, institutional, technological, and literacy dimensions within a single unified analytical framework grounded in maqashid syariah — an approach not yet comprehensively undertaken in prior literature. The principal contribution is the formulation of an operational maqashid syariah-based cash waqf governance model relevant to the Indonesian context, alongside systemic policy recommendations actionable by key stakeholders.

Abstract

Flavonoid compounds are natural polyphenolic bioactive compounds known to possess significant biological and antibacterial activities, as well as added value. These compounds have the ability to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria that can cause health disorders in humans. Since flavonoids cannot be produced by the human body, their sources must be obtained from food, beverages, or other external sources. Wet organic waste, such as fruit peels, vegetable scraps, and agricultural waste, is reported to still contain flavonoid compounds in varying amounts, depending on the type of waste. By employing a systematic literature review (SLR) method on previous studies published in indexed national and reputable international journals, the potential of flavonoid compounds in wet organic waste can be evaluated. This includes their mechanism of action, factors influencing the effectiveness of their antibacterial activity, and their relevance to human health. The results of the review indicate that flavonoid compounds derived from wet organic waste are capable of inhibiting Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria commonly associated with infections, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Factors such as the type of waste material, extraction method, and extract concentration influence the effectiveness of the flavonoids' antibacterial activity. Furthermore, the utilization of flavonoids from organic waste aligns with the circular economy paradigm in supporting sustainable waste management. It can be concluded that flavonoids from wet organic waste hold great potential as natural antibacterial agents that support human health while simultaneously providing an innovative solution for sustainability-based waste management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the madrasah management strategies in overcoming the adaptation challenges of transfer students at MI Hijriyah 2 Palembang, to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of the adaptation process, and to explain the roles of madrasah leadership, teachers, and the school environment in accelerating the students' academic, social, and religious integration. School transfers cause psychological stress, differences in learning cultures, and academic ability gaps that require systematic managerial handling. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the madrasah principal, homeroom teachers, religious education teachers, and transfer students. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was tested through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that the adaptation management strategies for transfer students at MI Hijriyah 2 Palembang are implemented through orientation programs, differentiated learning, individual mentoring, peer support, religious habituation, and consistent institutional coordination. These strategies are able to create a sense of psychological security, increase academic participation, strengthen social integration, and foster the students' religious discipline. The main supporting factors include adaptive madrasah leadership, an inclusive school culture, humanistic teacher involvement, and a safe learning environment. Inhibiting factors encompass differences in students' initial abilities, emotional anxiety, limited teacher mentoring time, and adjustments to the school's religious culture. Overall, structured adaptation management has proven effective in facilitating the transformation of transfer students from a phase of alienation to active involvement in madrasah life
