Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to describe the change of values in Dayak Kanayatn custom marriage in Sadaniang district Mempawah regency. This research used qualitative method with descriptive-ethnography approach. The method used in collecting the data observation, interview and documentation. Device used in collecting data is observation guide, interview guide and documentation. According to the result of the research, the original arrangement of custom marriage are consist of several stage, such as penentuan picara, tahap barawas, nyuman poe’ pangumpur, ngikat kata, pantangan (pingit), tahap persiapan, marriage ceremony that started with makan batamak (bersanding), nasi tenung, ngadap sajiant, nasehat picara, ngadap buis bantant, macah piringk, penyerahan tingkalangk parimatant, balalak, and panganten baulangk. Changes occurred in the procession of Dayak Kanayatn custom marriage in Sadaniang district, such as additional and reduction of some custom props. Thus happened because of several factors, (1) Economic reasons from society; (2) Foreign culture influence from religion transmission that cause the society to held marriage ceremony according to their religion, hence several custom props are removed. Keywords: The change of Values, Custom Marriage, Dayak Kanayatn

Abstract

AbstractThis research is initiatedby the lack of student skills in writing. This can be proved from the average student's scorewhichis below 70; the criteria of minimal submission, the students are less skilled in pouring ideas into their writing. This research is focused on writing material on negotiating text using an example nonexample learning model. The problem formulated in this study, "How is the planning, implementation and learning outcomes of using a nonexample learning model. The purpose of the study is to describe the planning, implementation and learning outcomes using the example Nonexample learning model to improve the learning of writing negotiation text for students of Grade X Social Science Class in SMAK Santo Thomas AquimasBengkayang. The method used for this collection is a descriptive method. The design is class action research (PTK). The techniques used are direct communication techniques in the form of interview guidelines and documentation studies. The tools used for data collection in the form of observation guidelines are IPPKG 1 and IPKG 2 and the Student Assessment sheet. The analytical techniques used in this study are qualitative descriptive. The results the students gained in the learning process skills of writing negotiation text using example Nonexample learning models increased ranging from pre-cycles, cycle I, cyclesII , and cycle III. The results of the increase before carrying out the average action value of the student is 64.28% and there are 2 students completed. After the research carried out on the cycle I average grade is 80.03%, and there are 21 students who complete. In the cycle III the average student score increased to 89.76% and there were 22 students who completed, so from each cycle experienced an excellent improvement.Keywords: Writing Skills, Negotiative Text and learning Example NonexampleModel.

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to describe the Application of Scientific Approach by Teacher in Sociology Learningin Class XI of SMAN 1 SengahTemila. This research aimed to determine the Application of the Scientific Approach and the obstacles in applying the scientific approach. The research method used was qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques used was direct communication techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data collection tools in the form of observation guides and interview guides. The results of his research were (1) Application of the Scientific Approach to Class XI of SMAN 1 SengahTemila in learning activities including five activities, namely observing, asking questions, gathering information, reasoning and communicating in the learning process it’s giving students an understanding in knowing and understanding various materials used in scientific approach. (2) The teacher’s obstacle in applying the scientific approach to Class XI of SMAN 1 SengahTemila namely it was difficult to develop the teaching materials because the lack of existing facilities at schools that made teacher and students unable to access material available on social media as additional teaching material for students.            Keywords: Scientific Approach, Sociology Learning.

Abstract

AbstractThis thesis is titled "Analysis of Teacher Competence in Learning Processes in Economic subjects in SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya". This research is motivated by the importance of the role of teacher competence in carrying out tasks and professions as teaching staff in the scope of school organizations. A teacher who has competence in his profession will be able to carry out his duties properly and efficiently, effectively, on time, and in accordance with the objectives.The purpose of this study is to describe the level of competence of teachers as teachers in schools. The sample in this study amounted to 30 people. This research uses descriptive qualitative research type. The type of data consists of primary data obtained through filling out questionnaires by student respondents, while secondary data are sourced from SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya data, documents, and regulations relating to the problem to be examined.Teacher Competency, Economics Teacher at SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya is measured by looking at 3 (three) dimensions of competency, namely personal competence, professional competence, and social competence. From the calculation of all indicators, the results of the study indicate that the level of competence of teachers has an average each different. Teachers' personal competencies and social competencies have the highest average compared to professional competencies that have the lowest average. This proves the level of professional competence still needs to be increased to match what is expected. Keywords: Teacher Competency

Abstract

AbstractThis research is conducted on seventh grade B students of SMP Negeri 2 Rasau Jaya in academic year 2018/2019. The research is conducted to solve the students’ vocabulary problems about meaning and spelling in descriptive text. Classroom action research is used as the method of research. Individual vocabulary test, observation checklist and field note are used as the tools to collect the data. The research is done with two cycles. The result showed that the students’ understanding of meaning was improved by drawing and sticking pictures on word wall media. The students spelling were improved by rearranging the letters into words with right spelling. The students’ vocabulary improvement were proven by the students’ vocabulary test score and students’ behavior while learning vocabulary. The students’ mean score in understanding the meaning improved from 59.5 in cycle 1 to 83.6 in cycle 2.  The students’ mean score of spelling improved from 65 in cycle 1 into 88.4 in cycle 2. Based on field note, the students were more active, enthusiastic and confident while learning English vocabulary in cycle 2. In conclusion, word wall media is recommended to be implemented by the English teacher to teach vocabulary in descriptive text.                           Keywords: Descriptive Text, Vocabulary, Word Wall Media

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the media and the use of sociological learning media in the class XI IIS SMA N 2 Mempawah Hulu. This study used is qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation studies; The analysis in this study was presented in a qualitative descriptive manner user informants as much as five people consisting of a teacher of sociology learning and student of class XI IIS. Learning media is a form of physical in a planned manner to convey information and build interaction. The media used are a visual display, visual print, and visual images. Stage in the use of learning media namely the preparation and planning, the implementation, and the flow-up stage. In the learning process of material learning delivered by the teacher are encoding and student decoding. In the use of learning media, there are obstacles (barriers or noises). Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to develop a mathematical representation test by analyzing the Rasch model and explaining the mathematical representation ability of junior high school students in Pontianak. This research is in the form of research and development with the type of research is the development instrument. The representation test was developed through the formative research stage, which is the preliminary stage; the preparation and design phase, then followed by the formative evaluation stage; one-to-one, expert review, small group with Rasch model analysis, and field tests. Based on the results of the item analysis, it was found that the mathematical representation test instrument analyzed by the Rasch model was precisely in accordance with the specified criteria, so that it could be used to measure students' mathematical representation abilities. Based on the results of the analysis of the answers, it was found that the mathematical representation of junior high school students in Pontianak mostly had difficulty in translating forms of image representation into verbal representations and translating forms of verbal representations into image representations. Keywords: Instruments Development, Representation Test, Analysis Of The Rasch Model

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted to find out the most dominant ungrammatical forms made by the students of Year-10 in SMA Negeri 10 Pontianak in academic year 2016/2017. The researcher applied descriptive research as the method. In order to answer the research problem, the researcher conducted several steps to find out the ungrammatical forms. First, the researcher collected the corpus as the source of the data. After that, the researcher sorted out the data that contain ungrammatical forms and calculated the total of ungrammatical forms. In this research, the ungrammatical, the researcher divided the ungrammatical forms into ungrammatical phrase and ungrammatical clause. Total ungrammatical phrases made by the students are 126 with ungrammatical noun phrase dominated it. The ungrammatical clauses are 233 times made by the students with ungrammatical nonfinite verb as the most dominant ungrammatical form encountered. This research covered the needs both teacher and students what are going to with result and as the reflection for better teaching learning process especially grammar in English. Keywords: Analysis, Grammaticality, Students’ Writing

Abstract

AbstractThe problem in this research is whether by using manipulated media spikes can improve student learning outcomes in the reflection material flat build in class IV 41 Primary School, North Pontianak. The method used is descriptive method in the form of classroom action research. The research subjects were the teacher as a researcher and fourth grade students totaling 27 people. The research procedure consisted of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The data collected is the score of the teacher's ability to plan and implement learning analyzed with average calculations. Data collection techniques with direct observation and measurement through observation sheets and tests. The results of the study in the first cycle obtained an average score of the ability of teachers to design learning by 3.09 and in the second cycle increased by 0.83 to 3.92. The ability of teachers to implement learning in the first cycle was 2.80 and in the second cycle increased by 1.03 to 3.83. Mastery learning students in the first cycle of 71.09 and in the second cycle increased by 27.06 to 98.15. Thus, the use of spike board manipulative media can improve the learning outcomes of students in grade IV 41 Primary School, North Pontianak. Keywords:Improvement, learning outcomes, manipulative media

Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this research to describe talking stick to improve the learning activities of Social Sciences Kelas V SD Negeri 27 Pontianak Tenggara.  The research method  is descriptive, the form of research is Classroom Action Research is collaborative.  The research data collection technique is direct observation.  Research collection tools in the form of observation sheets.  This research was conducted for three cycles.  The results of this study include: The ability of teachers to plan talking stick learning in cycles I, II, and III with an average value of 3.78 (good category).  The ability of teachers to carry out learning in cycles I, II, and III with an average value of 3.81 (good category).  Physical activity with an average value of 33.33% increased with an average value of 88.17% (cycles I, II, III).  Mental activity of 18.33% rose to an average value of 59.02%.  Emotional activity from 26.67% increased to 67.21%.  Based on data analysis of students 'learning activities, it shows that learning with Talking Sticks can improve students' learning activities. Keywords: Learning Activities, Talking Sticks, and Social Sciences
